I bingewatched the first 5 seasons and then stopped.
Anything noteworthy happening later on?
Covid meant a bunch of the seasons had to be recorded without an audience and it really shows
6, 7, 9, 11 are really good imo. last few seasons were okay
>contestant attempts to play semantics with the task not to solve it in a unique way but to minimize effort
some of these comedians are so allergic to movement it's embarrassing
season 7, 9, 11 and 14 were ok
the others had fun moments but they are more worth searching for youtube clips of than binging to completion
I watched the AU and NZ versions too, they're actually ok.
Haven't tried it but apparently the US version is dogshit, wouldn't be surprised
wasn't it just one season?
I think even they knew
Any bongs here? Is this guy gigantic butthole or just pretending?
Alex horne? No he's lovely, and seems so, what?
Do you mean Greg davies? He's also actually nice, but the question makes more sense
What makes him an butthole
Horne is the physical embodiment of the upper class Footlights nepotism network that dominates British comedy and turns everything into a dogshit scripted panel show
Sean Lock's dead and Bob Mortimer's heart will explode any day now, when he's gone it'll just be those c**ts in everything forever. Maybe the occasional Johnny Vegas appearance if we're good boys
currently on season 5. nish is beyond annoying. just the worst. that being said, sally phillips being pure sex is worth it.
Nish just had a good time and genuinely looked like he had fun and wasnt just there because his agent told him.
Also he has one of the best moments in the entire show, iirc its during the last episode of the season
>man plays like three chords and gets a standing ovation
is it really that simple?
Unironically yes.
If you ever left your room you would know
based sallychad
I watch for she
>It's an episode where a woman gets Alex to bend the rules and do the majority of the task work
Why even bother coming on the show?
It's not even consistent across women
In champion of champions 2 Liza got Alex to do pretty much the whole task for her but refused Lou when she asked for the same thing
That season with noel fielding was completely rigged for him. he was dumb as a brick and couldn't do shit but he still ended up winning all the time
was it that bad?
Anon you do understand that every single season is "rigged" since they film everything in advance and the editors/people behind the scenes just have to arrange every task while they decide which comedian wins this episode
How did you think this works
The order of the tasks doesn't matter it's all points in the end
There are plenty of tasks that they perform and aren't filmed, because they're not funny enough or whatever reason, genius. It's not a real competition.
I'm going to assume "they aren't good television" is the only concern, not "this selection of tasks doesn't make my friend win"
I like the format, but unfortunately if there's one contestant you find intolerable (theres always at least one these days) you are stuck with that contestant for the rest of the season. At least with panel shows I could just skip the eps with too many annoying people in them. This show I have to skip entire seasons
>you will never shag Sally Phillips in a caravan
How are people liking S16? Feels like it's back to being cheekier but I am fed up of Greg quoting something we just heard a minute ago.
Too many random one off jokes have been turned into stale format points, that said, S16 feels more fun than the last few series
It's his go-to for when he has to say something about a contestant but has nothing
Just jot one of the lines down, repeat it with some preamble, get some giggles, move on
Has there been any S or A Tier comedian on the show after the first couple of seasons?
Depends what you consider to be an S/A tier comedian. They've had some big names though. Lee Mack, Victoria Mitchell, Dara O Briain, Frankie Boyle. There's a lot of literal whos though, it's difficult to watch when you only recognise one name out of five and the big name they do have hasn't been funny for a decade.
I don't know most of the people but generally if not likable they are at least bearable
It's rare for a contestant to be so bad it spoils the rest of the show for me, although I can think of a couple
that fat c**t Daisy ruined her whole season, kekked when I read she got divorced not long after
The new season's tasks haven't been great so far but I think it probably has the best cast in a long while, absolute top tier lineup
Any No More Jockeys fans in?
Penelope pitstop, no more glove wearers
No-one who's ever worn gloves? To be safe I'll go with R2D2, no more bald people.
this show made me fall in love with so many brits i had never heard of
specifically charlotte ritchie
based ritchie enjoyer
for me it is she
coincidentally her season is the last one id say was more hits than misses
It's a good cast
yeah. i think its less about how many ive heard of than just how funny they are. ritchie and mack were the only two id heard of prior to season 11, but wozniak and the aussie girl were pretty entertaining too.
the bad seasons, not only are the casts full of nobodies, theyre just not fricking funny
I liked season 12 even though it didn't feel like the contestants were specifically trying to be funny
They just either stumbled into situations that turned out funny or the tasks were really good for creating funny moments
its a good format. even the less funny comedians tend to be set up well to be funny. i still dont love a season full of unfunny people, but its watchable
versus other panel shows where unfunniness kills it completely
