For me, it's the crabba
love the zaku
I liked these three for the one episode we got them more than the goobers in the Gundam Ground Types. They had the real Vietnam experience.
I wish there was a series or story that followed a bunch of Zaku pilots where they get picked off one by one over the course of the series by a Gundam. They have to learn to deal with the loss of their comrades and the insurmountable task of hunting "the v-horned devil." At the end of the series, one of the pilots get a lucky heat hawk off and disarms the Gundam, and even manages to capture the pilot, only to realize it's a teenage kid that's just as scared of dying as they are, if not more so. Then our Zaku pilot has to decide whether to take the kid as prisoner, kill her, or let her go.

Even better, leave it ambiguous.
That's probably the best idea. Cut straight to the end of the hostilities, or straight to our protagonist at some award ceremony for defeating the Gundam. I had an idea while messing around with of my guns in real life. This pistol I have won't properly feed if you put too many bullets in the magazine, it's only supposed to fit eight but only fires correctly if you load 7 in the mag. I wonder if giving the protagonist a gun like this, and then having some of the character remark about how he was missing a bullet at the end of his deployment would be a good idea.
It happens in every war; I don't think it's off the table for this one, although I don't want it to be a particularly edgy story. Just tragic and unfortunate.
I also like to explore how the average Zeek grunt would justify the actions of the Zabis, the colony drops, the war crimes, etc. I would like to think there's a few hardliners who would have no problem doing things like this, but I think there would be other people who would object to it quietly, or publicly. Maybe a few people who justify thosenactions as revenge against the persecution of spacenoid people by the feds. Honestly the story doesn't even need to be set within gundam, although it seems like a very easy framework to work in.
they weren't even prosecuted before titans showed up
stealing this.
You can steal it, just make sure you make it good and post it here so we can read/watch it later.
