Coppola's expensive passion project "Megalopolis" a bizarre mess

>Lots of wide eyes and shaking heads outside the theater. “There are zero commercial prospects and good for him,” one top attendee told me this afternoon, saying it’s a bizarre mix of Ayn Rand, Metropolis, and Caligula. “It’s unflinching in how bat**** crazy it is.”

>Francis Ford Coppola finally unveiled his $120 million epic to all of the Hollywood bigwigs yesterday in Los Angeles in the hopes of securing a buyer.

>The legendary Oscar-winning director is self-funding “Megalopolis,” a passion project more than four decades in the making. He sold his lucrative winery to fund the film, which was said to cost around $120 million.

                >Throughout Crash I have used the car not only as a sexual image, but as a total metaphor for man's life in today's society. As such the novel has a political role quite apart from its sexual content, but I would still like to think that Crash is the first pornographic novel based on technology. In a sense, pornography is the most political form of fiction, dealing with how we use and exploit each other in the most urgent and ruthless way. Needless to say, the ultimate role of Crash is cautionary, a warning against that brutal, erotic and overlit realm that beckons more and more persuasively to us from the margins of the technological landscape.

Boomers are so behind the curve with media interaction. Twitch aired fricking yu gi oh and it turned into an entire phenomenon mixing a live chat forum with the source material on in the background. A genuinely funny MST3K because of crowd sourced scale of the bits but also totally ignorable and not overwriting what is happening on screen. All the boomers had to do was reinvent network tv broadcasting with live chat scheduled airings or marathon season shows with a live chat on the side. Instant profit. Imagine all the normies that would tune in nightly to a cycling of the office with in real time reddit jokes in a chat on the side.

You're a piece of shit. If you ever have kids (hahaha), I wonder how are you going to feel when they kick you out to a facility where angry wetbacks will "take care" of you, meanwhile they are going to wait until you die so that they can get $$$ for doing nothing, not even caring for you.
If my kids treated me this way, I'd squander all my fortune before I die and debtmaxx so if they want the house, they will also have to pay back the loans.

Lynchs feature films usually aren't THAT crazy. They can certainly be odd, and some of his films go really off the range (these ones are usually the lesser known/liked ones) but people overblow the strangeness of his movies. He directs them pretty straight edge most of the time.

    Copolla on 'Crash:'
    >Francis Ford Coppola, the jury president at the 1996 Cannes Film Festival, was so vehemently opposed to Crash that other jury members in favor of the film banded together to present Cronenberg with a rare Special Jury Prize. So great was Coppola's distaste for the film that, according to Cronenberg, Coppola refused to personally present the award to the director.

Copolla on his friend, child rapist Victor Salva:
    >"In 2006, Coppola said, "You have to remember, while this was a tragedy, that the difference in age between Victor and the boy was very small -- Victor was practically a child himself." Salva was 29 at the time while the boy was 12."

Why did he put Adam Driver if it' an independent film? Can't stand this mutt. He's not just a bad actor, he has no charisma. He has a normie aura. A guy who would never pass a casting session because he's just too bland. I bet Sofia is the culprit. The entire cast is shit and super israelitey

      Anonymous

it's israelitey because he probably got these people to agree to doing his movie through their israeli connection
as stated above, much bigger actors were approached for roles in the movie and wanted nothing to do with it
in other words, the israelites were not the first choices, they were the only option left on the table
but i agree with you on driver, coppola is a moron
driver was bad in silence, bad in last duel, bad in gucci, bad in ferrari...

Anything that's not a cookie cutter action comedy is considered commercially unviable these days. Even something like Titanic would be treated as completely unmarketable if it were made now.
