Do the cosplayers get compensation for this?

SAG has said that any actor who 'crosses the picket line' will be permanently banned from SAG membership.

So this potentially hits any cosplayer that harbours delusions that they will ever make it as an actual actress.

        >literalwho from twitter deciding what the SAG and WGA considers scabbing
yeah, cosplayers aren't getting blacklisted. that would be dumb as frick. this is just some dumbfrick on twitter trying to come up with some hot take that will drum up engagement so they can shill whatever it is they are selling, while deriding capitalists who do the same shit they are doing with a different paintjob

Crazy how leftists just change the meanings of words whenever they want. How the frick is it scabbing if you're not in the fricking union? How is it scabbing if what you're doing has nothing to do with the company they're striking against apart from using the fricking IMAGE of their intellectual property which they can't profit off? Reminds me of them trying to israelite their way into making their demands seem reasonable by saying shit like
        >Increased penalties for failing to ensure proper breaks
Without saying what the original penalties were, or what their offers were.

        >How the frick is it scabbing if you're not in the fricking union?
you don't have to be part of the union to be a scab. anyone can cross the picket line and offer to work. the problem is that anyone who does takes away bargaining power from the union.

I don't care for either the WGA nor whatever corpo they're striking against. They can both crash and burn for all I care.

But they're not doing that, none of these cosplayers are volunteering to be actors, they're doing their original fricking job of cosplaying. I don't know why you'd bring up someone offering to take their job while they're occupied striking when it has nothing to do with this situation. If you'd read the rest of my post you'd know that was just one component in a list of things that made this impossible to be described as scabbing.

            > I don't know why you'd bring up someone offering to take their job while they're occupied striking when it has nothing to do with this situation.
because that is what scab is and the discussion is about what scabs are?
            > If you'd read the rest of my post you'd know that was just one component in a list of things that made this impossible to be described as scabbing.
that's why i highlighted what i was responding to. but anyways, to further respond and add on to what i said in my own full post, it's about engagement. these twitter/hollywood fricks have terminally destroyed their brains and understanding of reality through the lens of views/clicks/engagement. whatever drives engagement in any way is considered crossing the picket line in their eyes because engagement with the product allows for lessened bargaining power on the end of the union because they already got the engagement.

              Anonymous

But these people aren't doing that, so you're being a dishonest homosexual bringing up something that has nothing to do with the situation at hand.
              >That's why I highlighted
Bullshit, if the rest of the point elaborates on what I'm saying then cutting out a small part to make an argument no one is disagreeing with, or even discussing because it doesn't apply to the situation is only to do one thing, and that's act like a dishonest homosexual to create a connection where none exists. Engagement has literally never been a metric for scabbing otherwise people buying the products of companies on strike would be called scabs, this is a newly made up version of that which has nothing to do with what really being a scab is to shame people for not immediately bowing to the demands of a bunch of powerless dress toting homosexuals.

Another gay backtrack. That wasn't what you were arguing when you brought that up in contention, now that you've been exposed for being fricking moronic you want to say otherwise. It would be one thing if you were just elaborating, but you literally chose to cut my post up, disagree with it, and make a claim no one was making. Eat shit and die.

They all feel threatened by AI that's why they included a "non-AI EVER" clause because they know the moment AI is slightly worse but cheaper the studios will fire them all, at least AI doesn't complain nor goes on strike.

          Anonymous

Which is moronic because if they had negotiated correctly they could have come out ahead by copywriting their specific faces, writing styles, etc... And having studios, advertising, and etc.. pay licensing agreements for each use.

They could have literally all retired and sat back for the rest of their lives licensing their images and the work they'd train the AI on. Now the companies will definitely 100% replace them the moment it becomes viable and this is going to be the major motivation, especially after the massive string of flops this past year.

jews (actors/writers) vs super israelites (studios)

the guilds are smart enough to realize this

They would have no motivation to if it was a hundred times more affordable. The human element of marketing movies is still incredibly important, but not for long, and these morons had a chance to make their money during the transition period, and go with the wind. Instead they literally created the biggest reason to israelite them as hard as possible because now they've proved for a fact they're more trouble than they're worth, and that they will use the influence that's supposed to be serving super israelites on swaying the public into donating to their gofundmes.

      >THIS is the "workers struggle"
It's all the same. Corporations wants to screw all their workers and extract max profit off their labor. All workers want a bigger return on their labor. It doesn't mater the job or company. I see zero reasons to support the studios on the issue.

SAG shouldn't test the current Supreme Court on this.

Unions have certain exemptions from anti-trust laws. But their activities must be related to the core labor dispute.
Actors commonly promote films at conventions and social media in roles they have appeared in. Actors do not usually show up at conventions dressed up like the characters in a film they did not star in. That's booth babe and cosplay work. Imagine if a waste management union could blacklist bus boys at restaurants because they take garbage to dumpsters. It's the picking up and transport of garbage that is the domain of the waster management union, not shit like being trash to a dumpster.
