That wasn't the case at all, Aki was brainwashed by Makima from the start because all victims of her mind control have these two things in common "Makima saved my life" and "i love Makima" or have their memories altered by her. For example Aki can't remember on why he liked Makima in first place when he was at the beach with Angel Devil and the hybrids believe she saved their lives when that wasn't the case, she couldn't control Power due not expecting her coming back and she couldn't control Denji due Pochita being his heart and she was looking at Denji as CSM, this is why he won the fight and gained immunity of her mind control due beating her.

I just feel the concept of only control anyone that views themselves inferior is better for 2 reasons. One it makes her power more manageable similar to other devils and hybrids. 2 it makes her more intimidating and more interesting and big brain because it means she's always gaslighting and manipulating to obtain new slaves and subordinates. I feel like while I don't agree on the power just because I remember reading the inverse so it has forever made more sense as the latter. Only twice in the manga does she seem to show genuine emotion . There is just something "off" about her.

That wasn't the case at all, Aki was brainwashed by Makima from the start because all victims of her mind control have these two things in common "Makima saved my life" and "i love Makima" or have their memories altered by her. For example Aki can't remember on why he liked Makima in first place when he was at the beach with Angel Devil and the hybrids believe she saved their lives when that wasn't the case, she couldn't control Power due not expecting her coming back and she couldn't control Denji due Pochita being his heart and she was looking at Denji as CSM, this is why he won the fight and gained immunity of her mind control due beating her.

I just feel the concept of only control anyone that views themselves inferior is better for 2 reasons. One it makes her power more manageable similar to other devils and hybrids. 2 it makes her more intimidating and more interesting and big brain because it means she's always gaslighting and manipulating to obtain new slaves and subordinates. The other way takes a way a lot of her fear factor because it means it's all her ability instead of more her just being a controlling manipulative sociopath.

She can directly command anyone she perceives as beneath, and this extends to manipulating memories and being able to force them into devil contracts on her behalf. But Makima also extensively uses "soft power", where she relies on implication and innuendo to insure you do what she wants without her needing to directly order you to. In general, Makima prefers to have people toe her line and to have the whole ship running autonomously and harmoniously. She only sparingly takes extended, direct control of someone.
Makima is not a micromanager, but at the same time she won't accept disobedience. She's also not omniscient, and can be tricked. Spending her whole day hovering over Kishibe's shoulder to make sure he isn't plotting an intricate conspiracy against her is a waste of time.
I feel like while I don't agree on the power just because I remember reading the inverse so it has forever made more sense as the latter. This is still probably the best and most terrifying description of makima should have used one of those popular makima just staring in the dark pics with this anon.
