Critics are worried about Zack Snyder's influence on fandom

>Rebel One - Part Two:The Scargiver is an unprecedented success, enjoying the #1 spot on its Top 10 list. That certainly seems to be enough for the streamer — and it’s more than enough for Snyder’s fandom, who have been singing the film’s praises on social media.

>Some have gone so far as to compare it to Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, another two-part sci-fi saga that’s been heralded by critics and fans alike. To the Snyder-heads, Rebel Moon is far and away the better of the two, revealing a massive divide between the fandom and critics. With the release of The Scargiver, that divide feels wider than ever... and Netflix’s strategy is only making it worse.

Critics being seen as judges of taste and good cinema.

      >There’s a toxicity within Snyder’s fandom that’s festered in the years since, and Snyder’s partnership with Netflix has only bolstered it. The streamer might be the best thing that’s happened to the director and his fans, but it’s effectively destroying any sense of healthy, unbiased criticism. It’s nice that Snyder has finally achieved the freedom he’s been searching for throughout his career, but it’s frustrating that it comes at the expense of balance. Critics are essentially part of that dynamic. Rebel Moon: The Scargiver is a movie for the fans, not the critics. That’s not exactly a compliment at this point — but if you worship at the church of Zack Snyder, it’s become the film’s one saving grace.

And there it is, the core of the problem. Now, don't get me wrong, Rebel Moon is terrible. But, the shift from giving viewers what they want to dictating to the audience what they are allowed to want has gone full steam ahead the past decade. Now, entertainment is a skinsuited delivery mechanism for Hollywood's politics and wish lists, but seeing Snyder betray them and go back to the old paradigm (or at least try) is scary to them. If they can't force us to consume their slop then their whole plan falls apart, and quote's like this are when they let that slip.

Part 2 actually expands on the characters from part 1 but has a lot of awkward cuts and is basically just a long advertisement for the r-rated cut.

          >I kinda doubt the pure kino
Maybe I'm being optimistic, but Part1 especially (and part 2 to an extent) was the closest I feel like Zack has ever gotten to recapturing the lightning-in-a-bottle he made with BvS.
It's let down by some bad/awkward dialogue and certain scenes feeling like they needed more expansion. But what's there is fantastic. I think a large part of it is the fantastic soundtrack.

Zack Snyder said that the director's cut will have entirely new dialogue, even for scenes that are similar to the PG versions.

What worries me is that he said the tone is very different. The PG versions are very earnest and sincere, whereas the director's cuts, according to him, are more self-aware and whatnot. One of the reasons i kind like the versions we got is because it feels very earnest.

The actual joke here is this is western “critics” being shown a clear an inarguable difference in taste between human beings and bipedal entities that use roads as latrines and consider cow shit a delicacy. Which completely snaps the idea that people are, at their core, the same. They can’t retreat to any of the cognitive dissonance shelters of “it’s their culture/socioeconomics/environment,” so now, in response to watching “people” lose their shit over two movies that are completely flat, dull, and inane, they’re coming up with every excuse possible to explain the disconnect, other than the fact said “people” happily eat literal shit.

Not to mention the fact these are the same “journalists” who came up with “cultural impact” to try to shit on avatar/cameron for not needing/paying them to shill and are responsible for “gamergate.” So their goal here is to save their bullshit jobs.

It doesn't matter if a show is "rated highly on average" a scoring system is based on metrics of the film or show in question; how does it push the medium? Is it original? Are just a couple of those. Most films and TV shows are not original and most are not pushing the medium in any way

        HARD NO.

The characters are indeed paper thin, the setting/ore is expanded here and there but it is mostly left as background material, and the action is somewhat cool but some of the slow mo ruins it.
There are some cool ideas and some cool moments, but as a Snyderchad it is has too little meat for us. It clearly feels like every theatrical cut Zack Snyder made before.

Wait for the director's cuts. That's when we will be able to truly discuss this movie.

The director's cuts of both movies is taking some time to come out because Zack Snyder, in all his wisdom, decided to film Sofia Boutella's pussy, and pussy lips, and that is a big no-no for the rating boards.

Snyder wants to keep the pussy scenes, the rating boards want that shit cut out.

      >REBEL MOON R-rated cut will show brain-matter, torn limbs, full frontal nudity, and fake cum

      >One of the main differences between the original and the director's cuts will be their explicit content. Rebel Moon received a PG-13 rating from the Motion Picture Association for "sequences of strong violence, sexual assault, bloody images, language, sexual material, and partial nudity." While the original version is already pushing the limits of the PG-13 rating and drawing some ire, the extended director's cuts will be rated R, allowing them to show even more of the aforementioned explicit content, including some very, VERY graphical sex scenes as well as rape scenes.

    >Snyder also touched on the ongoing process of releasing extended cuts of the movies, targeting a late summer release. "Yeah, I think at the end of summer. I think sometime in August they're supposed to come out," Snyder confirmed. He mentioned that he's currently wrapping up these versions but faces some challenges with the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) over the film's rating. "I’m just in a battle with the MPAA trying to get my R rating. You can show a lot of things in a movie, but apparently female genitalia is a big 'no-no' which is weird" he shared, hinting at the edgier content fans can expect in these extended cuts.

I will forgive half of his homosexualry if he fights for pussy being in film. If he's smart he's using pussy as a flame shield while he actually fights for all epic rape alien porno kino to be allowed in kinos

The novelization of the first film is out, and it is apparently based on the director's cut. It is filled with nudity, sex, and rape. Tons of alien stuff like tentacle sex and weird pussies.

Still i am afraid that Zack Snyder might end up cucking out in the end, with us just getting a cut with naked breasts and that's it. Snyder has been crying a lot about the rating boards.

he never said batman would get raped, he said that batman getting raped would be actually dark and the level of dark he is trying to achieve with his films and how Nolan's Batman movies werent actually that dark (he is right)

Hypothetical: you release a movie on netflix with the scenes of violence and pussies and stuff edited out. You have the netflix version rated G because there's none of that R-rated stuff in there. Then you release online for free somewhere all the violent pussy scenes, and a script that splices them into the netflix stream at the correct times. Would this be legal?

I think so, if you're the director. Snyder originally thought about leaking Justice League and got convinced otherwise by Ryan Reynolds, who told him that would be a bad idea.

I was at the London premiere of this and even the biggest Snyder fans there were saying iffy things about the first one and amusingly could barely remember it. The number of variations on “Is Charlie Hunnam coming to this?” “Didn’t his character die?” “Did he? I don’t remember. Cyborg died, I think” “Did he?” became genuinely hilarious. All the fans were fanboys of his earlier stuff. Anyway, I’ll say this, Snyder himself came across as a genuinely pleasant person.

It's amazing that these journos sole form of income is making clickbait articles about non issues and invented drama. I for one am proud that we as a community give these homosexuals a job.

Critics as a profession is dead. There are literally no more good critics on this planet. The professionals and YouTubers are no better then your average /misc/ gay take. It's not about the story anymore, it's about the message. As long as you have a good message, good reviews will come. Look this movie has israelites in it. That's great! or that's disgusting. It's all checklists these days.

Now even though I personally do not rate Rebel moon in particular. I like the fact that THE CRITICS blasted this movie a new ashole. Because it didn't conform to their message. But people watch it amass anyways. Because who would have thought people just wanna watch braindead fun action movies.
