Cube has to be the most terrifying horror movie of all time
Think about it. It plays on the most basic fear all humans have of cubes. And worse yet, cubes within cubes

>It plays on the most basic fear all humans have of cubes
...what?
these posters are clearly Big Cube shills, stay safe out there anons
I agree, it's primal. That said I personally worry more about the greater threat represented by hexagonal prisms.
tell me you can look at this without feeling uneasy
this homie got cubaphobia LOL
>pretending you aren’t scared of cubes
Contrarians on Cinemaphile? What a surprise
>Cube
They actually coined a term for people who hate Ice Cube?
Any other kinos about a group of strangers being stuck in a place?
Yes.
some
Sphere
Circle
Pyramid
I like the idea for why the cube exists, I think that's the scariest part of the whole film
I think you're forgetting another one of the primal fears this film taps into.
Math puzzles.
Math isn't a primal fear, it's pure conditioning. Have a good teacher from a young age and you'll love math, a terrible teacher will traumatize you for life.
Arguably, there's nothing particularly terrifying about cubes either, and that's just conditioning from the trauma of the cube-shaped blocks my father would shove up my butthole. If you start thinking like that, though, everything becomes mere conditioning and nothing is intrinsically terrifying.
no, cubes are inherently terrifying regardless of conditioning. Imagine for instance being a prehistoric human and encountering a cube in the wild - the mere sight of it would fill you with incomprehensible dread, for you know it is unnatural.
points are bad but fundamentally it's mathematically straight lines joining them that enable the horrors of geometry
That's actually a decent point. It doesn't really have the same effect when the cubes in the movie are clearly man-made though.
The eeriness I think you're referring to was much better actualized in 2001: A space odyssey (despite that technically being a cuboid)
mathematics is an abomination and a dangerous cult
Humans were never meant to count past ten, everything after that should just fall under "a dozen", "a couple dozen" or "a lot"
Look at what mathematics has got us:
>modern astronomy (fake!)
>tall buildings (dangerous!)
>large scale bureaucracy (taxes!)
Need I say more?
cubes are made of squares, and squares are made of lines, and lines are made of points
points are the problem
Anon, you are likely sitting inside some kind of cube right now.
great, now I won't be able to sleep tonight
Try watching the cube, I hear that's a great and relaxing film.
No, I live in a former lighthouse
A lighthouse is just a circular cube.
Moving to a lighthouse was clearly a deliberate choice, stop chipping away at his last remaining illusions of control.
He deserves to know the truth
reminds me of that movie
cubOID
I ain't no stinking cubeBlack person, no way no how
I think its the deadly traps and uppity Black person that makes it scary rather than the cube itself.
Although if I had unlimited funds and time I would build a cube and crazy traps and put random people in it but let the survivors leave because i'm not an butthole.
God makes so many jokes about cubes and prisons. I'm not really sure if it means anything. I've basically just decided it's his method of gaslighting and torturing us. It provides a new theory on the shape of our reality, and also implies there's another reality. And finally it's implied were trapped here, and that it's a bad thing. It's basically saying you shouldnt want to be here. I would say the odds that God even made this thread are 100%.
I couldn't draw shit as a kid so I drew a lot of cubes
later I graduated to cool Ss
I think the best horror film of all time is Event Horizon, because it deals with the unknowable horror of the unknown.
These themes are often explored in the works of relatively obscure early 20th century (like, World War 1 times) writer HP Lovecraft, and really horror in general needs to embrace his ethos to evolve in general.
Agree, Event Horizon uses the eeriness of cubes to scare viewers as well
Heavy Metal (1981) - "B-17"
12 edges? 6 faces? A-all equidistant? Oh no, I'm losing my mind!!!
My boy jesus was nailed on a unfolded cube. Coincidence? no way my nigaa

none of these seem cube related, what kind of underhanded shit are you trying to pull now cubist?
>none of these seem cube related
when you say somethings the best of something I take that as an open challenge
I'm onto you
>get kidnapped by cubes with god powers
>forced to complete cube puzzles until you're good enough at them to ascend and become a cube god yourself
You're right, cubes are fricking terrifying
Don't watch Cube 0 lads, it's shit.
Why be scared of cubes when cubes are friendly to humans? As a human myself I love cubes with all my six sides.
I am afraid of cubes in my ass
There are cubes among us...
its insidious, they've infiltrated every level of society
what are they planing next?

Sorry, but as a polyhedron I cannot sanction this thread.

If they're big enough, I guess.
How do you play games that require dice?

Dropped.
I've never heard of it. Is it good?
Nevermind
Hello fellow humans, I am John Smithagon of the Los Polyangeles human city. I think humans should embrace cubes as our friends and let us into their homes
>Cube has to be the most terrifying horror movie of all time
Really?
