doesn't really carry the "weird slightly accursed 1930s animation" vibe the game has, it's more like a spongebob competitor or something

It's written as a cartoon based on a video game rather than a cartoon that the game was based on
The game managed to pull off the illusion, the TV show failed, even though it had the easier task of the two

I wouldn't call them fight scenes, but it has some action scenes. However the action scenes are more like the slapstick stuff you see in tom and Jerry.
Ms. Chalice is a con artist. I wasn't expecting it, but it's pretty entertaining.
I like it a lot. I think it's very good. The accents all the characters have are hilarious. My only complaint, and it's really minor, is that not enough characters from the game show up in the show. I'd love to see more of the bosses show up as characters in the show, and they don't have to all be antagonists either.
Yeah, but that's mostly a "We got a 48 episode order, we gotta ration the bosses out" issue though.

This. I understand the show has the freedom to follow its own canon, but a lot of the game's villains are iconic parts of the Cuphead franchise and have become fan favorites. Would be a missed opportunity to limit the series to just the cup brothers, Ms. Chalice, Elder Kettle, King Dice, and The Devil. I hope "Season 1" was only scratching the surface of what's in store for us.
