TL;DR
>Originally a soft reboot, now a continuation of the Netflix show, though not everything from that version is canon.
>Nine episodes originally filmed, now edited down to six with a brand new pilot episode and two-part finale.
>Split into two batches of nine episodes each, with a year-long break between them.
>The second batch of episodes won't be called season 2 due to "contractual obligations", but it basically is.
>Foggy and Karen are coming back, though their roles in the first batch of episodes will be small.
>Muse still the main antagonist of the first batch of episodes, Hunter Doohan in talks to play him before the creative overhaul.
>White Tiger still set to appear in the first batch of episodes, spinoff series in development.
>Punisher still set to appear in the first batch of episodes, spinoff series in development.
>Unclear whether Echo will appear at all as her original storyline was axed, but there is still a possibility.

COUGHCOUGHironfistCOUGHCOUGH
yup, Iron Fist and Luke Cage will be rebooted
There's also Vanessa's ethnicity and just how superhuman Matt is supposed to be.
I'm just glad Karen and Foggy are coming back.
What a fricking mess.

So then why call it born again? None of this happens in that.
It's funny because the most iconic sequence from Born Again already got used in season 3.
imagine being a lawyer whose job it is to say "you must NOT split this show into seasons no matter how many episodes there are or when the episodes are released"
how does Netflix make money off of Born Again being one season? if not Netflix, who is making money off of this decision?
It's about actor's contracts. Like with movies they'll usually sign for a certain number of seasons, with pay usually scaling per season.
so what's stopping one season being """"split"""" into 10 'batches' released annually?
Union lawyers. Studios can get away with skirting the boundaries, especially in a case like this where the show was originally pitched as a single 18 episode season, and they're technically not breaking contract.
I thought this was Disney+, and not Netflix?
It's Disney+ yeah. Netflix no longer has any claim to any of the Marvel shows they hosted since their contract ended a few years ago and distribution went back to Disney.
The production of this shit already looks like a complete nightmare
Also I like how there's no mention of Blindspot and Butch because they know those aren't big enough names for normies to give a shit
So what is Echo?
A cute.
she surprisingly doesn't look like a whale here
Prettier than that uggo playing elektra
Deaf mute cute

?
They filmed nine episodes before the original crew were cut and production restarted. They then edited those nine filmed episodes down to just si, and wrote a brand new pilot and a new two part finale. That's a total of nine episodes for the first half of the series, with nine episodes still to come for the second half.
I guess he means they're piecing together what they've already shot into a six episode "season one," shoot another nine episodes and release that in 2026?
idk why disney still tries, capeshit is decidedly dead now
i get the feeling its going to be a great big pile of shit
