Why make Dark wing duck in his 30s? He comes across mid 40s in the original and 50 in the Nu-ducktales reboot.

Feathers are weird in the Disney Duckverse, but DW has enough hair to style into a bouffant in the opening moments of Just Us Justice Ducks. J. Gander Hooter is a better concept of a 'bald' guy.

So that was Angones' plan all along? And I was right that they wanted to make a Darkwing Duck reboot for a long time and used Nu-Ducktales for it, but they didn't make it happen. And better, because I think it would be even worse. Yes, Gosalyn would be like Webby and the annoying nephews in Nu-Ducktales, the main character in Darkwing Duck, and Drake would be neglected. The only good thing is that they fixed the beaks as they should look, as the Nu-Tales beaks are generally terrible.

      >no Bushroot
Where is Bushroot? Isn't he also one of Darkwing's main enemies? I assume that Gizmoduck would also be present in their Darkwing Duck reboot since his supposed main antagonist is Mark Beaks.

        >Where is Bushroot?
He's mentioned right at the top of the third page:

        >Will Drake and Gosalyn be able to sneak off and foil plant-villain Bushroot without ruining Launchpad's lovingly planned family bonding cookout?

        >I assume that Gizmoduck would also be present
Gizmoduck is also mentioned in the sentence immediately before the one quoted above. I love seeing a fellow Bushroot enjoyer, but people need to read this before complaining/asking about what it does or doesn't say.

I can tell you if that Talespin reboot actually comes out people are going to b***h massively about Rebecca being a girlboss and Baloo being an idiotic loser (which there were in the original in the first place)

            Anonymous

I agree with you on the count of the OG show being like that, but I think it's the *way* in which it's presented that will annoy people. If you excuse me for complaining about imaginary things that haven't happened yet, the dynamic of OG Talespin was that Rebecca was the brains and business side of the outfit, but she still *needed* Baloo, hence why she put up with all his hare-brained schemes and hijinks. Whereas I imagine the reboot would somehow slip in the fact that either Rebecca is better at Baloo at everything, or that there's no hint of romantic subtext between the two because hetro 'ships are verboten. The key point being both Rebecca and Baloo had flaws and needed each other to work.

I found her funny to be honest. I hate to play the sexism card but I do feel that a lot of dick characters get a pass when they're men berating other men or even women, but when a woman does it it's considered bad. Of course it can be *done* badly but the show never made me feel like it was some bint thrashing out her anger against men or some BS.

Buffy is good for the first three seasons. I'm literally rewatching right now and it slippery-slopes in every way right after she's out of school.

Did... did you even read it? It repeatedly refers to Gosalyn as adopted. As for Launchpad... it says he's Drake Mallard's best friend/roommate, but this is modern Disney we're talking about, so they'd probably end up making 'em gay.

Sadly, it also completely changes Negaduck's character in order to reconcile this with NuDucktales.

        >but this is modern Disney we're talking about, so they'd probably end up making 'em gay.
Do people really believe this? Disney would just make a random side character gay (usually through handholding or mentioning their bf/gf) and that'll be all but then there'll be 50 internet articles and youtube outrage bait making a big deal out of it. Owl House was the exception rather than the norm.

It seems like the DT17 crew really wanted it. To be fair, the crew also seemed to interact with the fujoshi audience a lot. Sam King managed to sneak in Della and Penumbra into a Chibiverse episode. Kinda wonder what the higher ups thought of that behavior.

I'm afraid they would make Morgana into an ugly witch just for the sake of getting Drake and Launchpad together.

Going through this and the glimpse we saw in Ducktales 2017 it’s abundantly clear that they interpreted Drake and Launchpad as homosexuals who eventually started dating, and were going to push it as far as they would be able to without directly saying. If they got lucky and Disney eased up on strictness like then they might have confirmed it by the end, and if not someone who worked on it said they would have afterwards. They even said Launchpad was bi in Ducktales so it makes it pretty clear what was planned for his spinoff.
That might have in part killed it, it might have been too obvious for them to be comfortable with it

Gay or not, Drake and Launchpad worked really well in the OG Darkwing Duck, and Drake got jealous of Launchpad a few times when he was treated better than Drake. In Nu-Ducktales, their relationship is more like it was forced just because of the fans and the Nu-Tales crew preferring Drakepad, rather than if they gave the dynamic relationship between the two the right amount.

        Anonymous

Drake and Launchpad are compatible in Ducktales 17, but their dynamic is just entirely different. Drake is far nicer and less egotistical towards Launchpad, to the point he isn't snarky to Launchpad at all, so you aren't getting these jealousy or annoyed moments from him anymore which the original had. You wouldn't see him hit Launchpad or call him an idiot or get full ego on him like he would Gizmo, you'd get the two dorking out over stuff and Drake just being very supportive of him. That might be to make it more of a "pure" relationship for shipping
It's very similar to Donald and Daisy in this show. You have easily the nicest Donalds ever put to screen and one of if the nicest Daisys ever so they are missing that usual snark and shittiness they'd give each other to play up them being good romantic partners

Im pretty sure it’s just concept art that got rejected, and like Ducktales pitch it wouldn’t be the final design. If it even comes out, we don’t even know if this show is still being produced

I hope you're right, and it's not the final design yet. So Rogen and his men are working undercover just like with the Rescue Rangers. We won't find out until a few months before the first episode.

No, that part they're keeping correct, here. She was the daughter or granddaughter whatever of an old guy who gets killed by Taurus Bulba (IIRC) and Darkwing adopts her. It's the pilot story for the show and basically the only one that tries to go for more of a sentimental disney vibe rather than just looney tunes shenanigans
