Dawn of the Nugget

Its pretty sad to see that Cinemaphile and the rest of the world dont give a shit about Aardman anymore. One of the few non American and Non Japanese animation studios to have made some quality movies and series in that past, reduced to this.

If Aardmans mastered one thing its like with the Simpsons, they've created an artstyle that is okay to look at but at the same time is completely unfrickable. Its not as gross as big mouth, but I still can't coom to any of these characters.

Sucks to see the first thread up and died. I haven't seen the sequel myself, but that's only 'cause I'm waiting on my brother to come back for the holidays—currently studying abroad—so we can watch it together. We watched the original on VHS all the time as kids

I agree. The first film was ridiculously unrealistic.

I mean, come on. 6 million chicken pies? And ONE chicken farm? There’s no way Mrs. Tweedy could’ve made THAT many pies. That’s just impossible.

I would've liked the movie better if it was just literally Wallace and Gromit: Stone Age edition that they're just speedrunning the advancements in order to defeat the Bronze Empire

But they just instead decide to do soccer for no reason.

I don't care for football/soccer, but this really is an example of cultural dissonance. I want to say it's like a movie where cavemen play baseball or 'Murican football, but I don't know, soccer football *is* very tribal in Europe.

I feel like Aardman lends itself to straightforward discussion. They make films in their own little bubble, so you can't generate outrage or bait without coming off as autistic. As for the film, it's good. Not as good as the first, but it's a pleasant watch.

Aardman have been bringing out a lot of subpar sequels recently, and this is no different.
They recasted all the cast for celebrities more popular with zoomers, and the animation is the only saving grace.

it wasn't even fun to watch it. it felt recycled with a mix of james bind because lol english people, at least molly wasn't build ti be an annoying indepemdent gurl and actually shown to havw her flaws and manage to worked her way to help and im glad they didn't make Rocky into a useless character because he's male

Yeah, I do like how they didn't do the whole virtue signaling GURL POWER thing and showed us that Rocky as important, Ginger admitting that her parenting style wasnt good, and Molly admitting that she made big dumb mistakes because she thought she was ready but now knows she clearly wasn't. If any other woke studio made this, Rocky would be completely incompetent the whole time, Ginger would be seen as the perfect parent with no flaws, and Rocky's toxic masculinity would be the thing holding his daughter back or some shit

Name one fricking thing that does this. The woke cliche is portraying flawed parents because generational trauma.
