I thought it was pretty obvious that the figures in this scene were supposed to be like statues, not flesh-and-blood. Maybe they should have made them gray to really spell it out.
definitely, I think if they had added like a painterly filter it would have helped drive home it was an alternate medium.
the fact that it was the same style CGI as what was meant to be taken more literally like the Speed Force effects ruined the differentiation that Andy wanted to make, it was too similar to everything else.

It actually is a good movie, definitely the best since Wonder Woman. I guess the damage to the DC brand is terminal. Doesn't help that the marketing is basically non-existant. This could have been a Mario situation where they had the whole month to themselves but they blew it.
