DC has bad "events" and Worldbuilding but good standalone "artsy" stories
Marvel has decent "Events" and Worldbuilding but little to no "artsy" standalone stories
Did I get this right?

Both current DC and Marvel have crap events and crap standalone stories.
All events are trash.
DC has better runs than Marvel.
DC has better limited series than Marvel.
>All events are trash.
Hickman's Secret Wars was a good event. Great build-up, solid main book, and mostly good tie-ins.
Also Morrison's DC 1M.
>hickman's secret wars was a good event
no, it was not
it was a doom centered event, so it was good, for that alone
but beyond that, blergh
>Hickman's Secret Wars was a good event
jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus
please never say that again.
Also you should start to read comicbooks instead vimeo streamers
Secret Wars was the perfect capstone to Hickman's Fantastic Four and Avengers books.
Most of the Last Days tie-ins were good. So were the Battleworld and WarZone tie-ins. And they managed to keep all these minis in synch and on time... Out of the tie-ins my favorites were Ewing's Mighty Avengers/Defenders stuff, but there were so many good minis in that event.
What did you dislike about it?
Yeah, I like both of these too.
You say you like Hickman and some anons just become unglued.
The fact that anon can't even imagine anyone who disagrees with him actual reads comics is a pretty good illustration of what you're dealing with.
It's not even worth talking about. Any conversation you attempt is just going to raided by screaming apes. I figure they're mostly disgruntled Bendis fans.
No. All events are trash.
I feel like Marvel's best-received books are from ongoing runs, while DC's best-received books are graphic novels, miniseries, etc..
This could be influenced by the two companies' trade departments, though. Marvel's put out collections for a LOT of their library, while DC hasn't.
When it comes to the "event books" like Secret Wars, all the Crises, etc.. I feel like they're pretty even. DC's got COIE, so that's something, but that was many years ago. I like Annihilation but that's less a big event and more like one of those Bat-family crossovers.
No DC has too many legal issues effecting their publishing practices and trying to copy Marvel. Marvel is constantly chasing trends and trying to stay ahead of DC rather than make good stories.
>Marvel has decent "Events" and Worldbuilding
15 years ago lol
Basically. DC characters tend to work better in stand alone “epics” that aren’t bogged down by continuity and creatives have pretty well unlimited freedom whereas Marvel characters tend to work better in episodic soaps that show character development, growth, and change.
DC doesn't have Worldbuilding outside of Batman.
Marvel is better though, both in terms of stories and events (than again, Marvel don't do annual events like DC).
>(than again, Marvel don't do annual events like DC)
They do, you just don't remember them because they are that forgettable
>DC doesn't have Worldbuilding outside of Batman.
Green Lantern’s works building shits on Batman’s honestly.
This isn’t even close to true
What is then?
Pre-Flashpoint DC is still better than the entire history of Marvel. Now both are just shit
>Marvel has decent "Events" and Worldbuilding
lol
lmao
