Frankly, if it's going to fail anyway I'd rather it have a shitton of money and effort poured into it so we at least get something that looks nice out of it. Not like Blue Beetle biting it is going to do much to WB/DC. It's only if their Superman thing falls through that I expect them to panic, again, and flip the table over on the plans. Again.
It's kind of funny to think about how >alien super soldier making device glitches and ends up being used by a hero
maps pretty closely to the archetypical Rider set up.

>it is 2029 >all three Blue Beetle movies are led up onto a podium in studio city >Blue Beetle I is defiant: Blue Beetle II is stoic >Blue Beetle III weeps for his mother: he's too young to be here, but this has to happen >the firing squad takes aim and the cameras zoom in, the whole world is watch >as one they go down: Blue Beetle III took the first shot, to the heart, and died instantly, never seeing the others fall, a small mercy >a fat middle aged man with an incredible body odor in the crowd cries out "Injustice!": nobody gets the joke, even when they see his faded tshirt with the same word written on it, and the police lead him away, a suspected sympathizer >President Feige appears by telecast, announcing the end of DC movies >never again will the world have to sit through two to four hours of goddamned utter fricking trash that only contrarians defend and even contrarians don't actually like >Angel Manuel Soto makes his weapon safe and pulls off his hood: he wants them to see, wants the world to know he was the sleeper agent all along, the man who brought an end to the madness >it is 2054 >at the Smithsonian a display of the iconic photo of Angel Manuel Soto removing the hood is flanked by posters of what DC had in the pipeline before it was stopped >The Superman vs Muhammad Ali movie featuring George Reeves' digital golem >62 year old Halle Berry's Catwoman vs the kid from Gotham >Space Jam 3: Plastic Man Dark
>Blue Beetle is the most known Latino superhero (if you don’t count Zoro)
Is he? I like Jaime, but this feels kinda sad. He's not even that generally popular, is he? Surely there's someone else kicking around DC/Marvel who's more well known.
Shouldn't have decided to release it in theaters. If they had stuck to just streaming they could hide its performance and cut back on spending and it wouldn't look bad on the brand. Zaslav is an idiot.
Was I imagining seeing that BB is being grandfathered into the new canon? If that is the case, there is seemingly no reason why wanting to make a trilogy is incompatible with existing plans.
I think Aquaman 2 is the one that is going to be the more difficult one to find a way to reconcile.
such a shame this movie will probably be a huge flop
hopefully the budget is low enough to lessen the damage

It would be amusing if Blue Beetle inexplicably ends up being the dark horse winner by being the most successful film out of the DCEU slate in 2023.
Here's hoping.
Okay, I can dig a Western Kamen Rider
If anyone can pull off an anime rip off it'll be the beaners

Darkhawk at Marvel has a similer backstory as well
It goes as far back to at least the Lensman(albeit not quite the glitching part) and that was the inspiration for both Green Lantern and Ultraman.
Cos it's close to Guyver
Not gonna lie, that trailer alone exudes more personality than all of Black Adam. Just a shame about that quip at the end.
if Aquaman could be a success then anything is possible
Ain't no game. This movie will flop and DC will never mention the character again.
Honestly I really want this one to do well, Blue Beetle is an underrated character and if it does well we could get a Ted and Michael Buddy film
Doesn’t Ted die off screen?
From what I remember of the leaks it seems people believe he’s dead but it’s unconfirmed and there’s a possibility he’s still alive
Ted's daughter is the girl in the trailer, the sequel tease is her and Jaime going off to look for Ted

This will be to Latinos what Black Panther was to blacks and Shang Chi was to Asian Americans.

None are solo characters.
Jaime and the Blue Beetle franchise are Latinos best shot.
Even George Lopez did everything he could to be in this film.

They want to have their own version of Spiderman so badly XD
Not bothering with anything dc until the superman movie comes out.
Latino chads…….our time has finally come.
Get back in the foodtruck, Paco. It's over. You're done. Make me those enchiladas and tacos al pastor.
