That was the Flintstones comic only
the people behind it said they hated the show and that's fair and all, but I don't need Fred Flintstone to tell me life sucks and humans are shit since that's something everyone knows
When did they say they hated it? From how the book came out you can see the people involved took the time to adapt the franchise to the modern world well and actually made you care about the characters even the appliances
They keep trying to reboot the Hanna-Barbera characters every few years and it never works out. They just go back to Scooby Doo and Powerpuff Girls since those are a safe bet.
Honestly? Just let the Adult Swim writers use them again. That was the last time they were relevant and interesting.
>They keep trying to reboot the Hanna-Barbera characters every few years and it never works out.
Because instead of actually bringing them back, they just try to reinvent the wheel. A Mightor series mixing cavemen stuff and fantasy, or the Herculoids and exploring their crazy world, would be badass. But no, it has to be a crossover or 2deep4u shit.
HB’s action shows are fun Silver Age tier stuff. A lot of them like Mightor, Herculoids, Space Ghost, Frankenstein Jr., Johnny Quest, and Thundarr have plenty of juice for something cool if you stop trying to outright reinvent them.
It was garbage. There was a real opportunity there to make cool ongoings for cool underrated characters, but they fumbled it so hard trying to be modern and clever and not just tell cool stories.
Future Quest was awesome because it tried to do right by the characters and did a surprisingly good job of integrating all of HB's hero/sci-fi characters into a single series.
Flintstones get the most hype though by being deconstructionist Eisner bait.
The crossovers with DC were inconsistent, some writers just played it straight and had fun, others just decided to be snarky. The worst was the Elmer Fudd/Batman although it sums up his Batman run perfectly.
It went woke

>And I'm okay with that!
Consoomer homosexual
In what way?
It wasn't racist and didn't insist the world was flat.
It was a fun novelty. There were some good titles, some shit ones, and it brought some interesting crossovers. I really liked Dastardly and Muttley.
Shame that the Galaxy Trio died right away
Flintstones was great
I still can’t believe the Scooby one was called Scooby Apocalypse instead of Scooby Doom or some variation of that
it was scooby doo: apocalypse
Future Quest was cool
I read The Flintstones one and it's mediocre at best. People said it's the best one, so I'm not going to bother with the rest.
When are they going to make Future Quest into an actual TV series?
we need a new johhny quest series, but i need hadji to be apart of the team somehow. jessie can stay too.
Yes, it was really hit or miss. More miss than hit
What were the big misses?
From OP pic, probably the biggest was Frankenstein Jr.
Johnny Quest was based though
Should’ve made this for film and tv, not fricking comic books.
They really canceled this shit just to end up never using these characters again

that's because Hanna Barbera always sucked
Not the point. HB used to be very popular. That's what WB is trying to capitalize on

Martian Manhunter and Marvin the Martian was great though
Lobo/Road Runner was peak and Yogi/Deathstroke was way fricking better than it had any right to be (though they did get DeMatteis for it)
