That's always been the case ever since iron man came out. They have always used ideas from the comics but rarely do they ever copy them directly. The comics and the movies have always been two separate things.
No one reads the comics. The movies are by far more popular than the comics and the movies just don't boost comic book sales at-fricking-all. It makes more sense to put the movies about the comics since that's most people's perspective of the IPs.
