>Just ahead of his return to the big screen next year, Marvel’s most iconic mercenary will headline a brand-new solo ongoing comic book series!
>Hitting stands in April, DEADPOOL will be written by Cody Ziglar, known for his acclaimed work on MILES MORALES: SPIDER-MAN, and drawn by Rogê Antônio, the artist behind some of Venom and Carnage’s bloodiest recent adventures. Together, they’ll take readers and Wade guns blazing into a new age packed with Deadpool’s specific brand of violence and lunacy, along with a heavy dose of deadly family drama.
>In addition to a brand-new archenemy named Death Grip—who may very well live up to his name—the series will also feature Deadpool’s daughter Ellie in a pivotal role. It’s a father/daughter duo the Marvel Universe isn’t ready for… and if Death Grip has his way, it’ll only lead to heartbreak!
>A new era for the Merc with a Mouth, and a gun, and a sword... Ziglar and Antônio have a wild ride planned for the Merc with the Mouth! Introducing a terrifying new villain who won’t stop until he catches Wade in his Death Grip. But all work and no play makes Deadpool a very DEAD boy!
"Wade's been one of my favorite characters since I first got into super hero comics, so being asked to helm a Deadpool series was a dream come true," Ziglar said. "I look forward to diving into and exploring Wade's family (found or otherwise), his unique approach to being a (mostly) unkillable mercenary, as well see what kinda of whackos they bring into his orbit."
"Deadpool has always been on the list of characters I'd like to draw one day, and that's finally happening!" Antônio added. "For me, he is one of the most fun characters and allows me to play with him a lot, artistically speaking. I can't wait to see readers' reactions!"
>Check out Taurin Clarke’s explosive cover for DEADPOOL #1 now and stay tuned for more news about the title in the months ahead, including the reveal of DEATH GRIP!

>Ziglar will make Deadpool take back what he said about Miles
Lmaoooooo
NOOOO
CODY ZIGLAR NOOOOOO
well, another deadpool comic to die in 8 issues
seriously, it's like they are incapable of making a good deadpool comic
how could duggan do for years what no one else seems capable of?
comedy, but also character development beyond memes lmao. might be Posehn's doing, considering how everything else he wrote was dogshit.
his deadpool voice seems very good even by now in his uncanny avengers book. and deadpool's appearance in cable's book
The one following the Duggan run was good, BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT the problem was that it was following the fricking Duggan run, so it was doomed before it even started.
they were trying to be the movie too much. didn't like it. the plot were very shallow too
The one off issues like the Christmas issue or the return of Ellie are what sold me.
Duggan's run was also bad, it's like a hackish version of Kelly's trying to mix comedy and pathos but doesn't work because Duggan is a garbage writer. It's just that the bar for Deadpool was set so low by years of Way that anything would have looked better in comparison.
I don't think duggan and posehn run was bad. and I think it was good because it was trying to be kelly's run. after 4 years of way's bullshit, for the first time in decades, we were having a deadpool comic that was funny and serving a plot with start, middle and end. not bad joke after bad joke
his x-men stuff is not as good and can be mid, but his uncanny avengers book was good, and the new mini is also good
unironically I think Duggan’s run got carried by being paired with artists like Moore and Koblash who were able to balance the comedy and drama really well.
agree. it's a team effort. deadpool is visual comedy with irony when done well
I feel like he and Posehn had a really strong vision for the book. They brought back the pathos and made Deadpool feel human again. They gave him a supporting cast of characters to bounce off of. You saw Deadpool rise and fall.
The other runs seem a bit rudderless in comparison. I've only skimmed an issue or two, but it's hard to see the Carnage baby or Monster Island stuff going for years and years. Also doesn't help that they got canned after 10-15 issues. Seems a bit like trying to follow up Immortal Hulk.
yeah, why not Ryan North?
He's decent
>Ziglar
His episode on the new season of Rick & Morty unironically made me laugh so I think this has a chance to be good
Hey he did a story in Deadpool: Seven Slaughters, let me check it ou-
>it features the white boxes
ACK!
I feared it was the one with the white boxes
jesus fricking christ
wade's gonna get character assassinated worse than alyssa wong
Post it
ok
So why did DeadPool kill his employer?
I guess he was pissed that his contractor didn't tell him the military base he was attacking was actually a civilian area with kids.
>military base he was attacking was actually a civilian area with kids.
Okay so I guess that mean Deadpool hasn't gone completely evil if that still pisses him off.
frickin madcap
didn't he get sorted
it's not him, it's just bad writing
I'm pretty sure the last two ongoing the Deadpool and did pretty quickly with like two volumes. So we expect better from this one ?
>She-Hulk show failed
>he became the face of shitty, whiny, entitled writers to non-comic fans
>he's never written a good comic
>none of his comics have ever sold
>guy is totally anti-dimes
>give him another fricking book
Does Ziglar suck a mean dick or something?
Isn't his Miles Morales run doing well?
its selling ok, but the plot is moronic
his villain is a envious kid and the structure of the book is basically "team-up of the month"
>none of his comics have ever sold
Spider-Punk's collected edition sold well enough for Marvel to greenlight a sequel mini
Oh frick me, Cody Ziglar is THIS guy????
Christ. How did I not make that connection?
he just writing everything right now Rick and Morty Futurama ect
Diversity hire lgbt black guy
When did they reverse the memory wipe?
They did?
At the end of Skottie's run
But I don't think it was a complete reversal, only that he knew about the existence of Ellie
>cody zigler
>focus on ellie
>white boxes without madcap
oh boy
Marvel really pushing this fat black man aren't they?
this is going to cross over with his Miles I guarantee it
