All they're gonna have is people from the X-Men movies, realistically Wolverine is the selling point, besides him there's going to be Pyro and original Sabertooth which are pretty lame. Who else are they gonna get? I don't think anyone from First Class is showing up, and Stewart and McKellen are too old. Maybe Janssen, Berry, or Marsden but they aren't really popular anymore.

They were decent movies and people liked them, but they were buoyed by the fact that superhero interest was at an all time high. That's not true anymore. Look at Captain Marvel vs The Marvels, I don't think the dropoff will be as bad with Deadpool & Wolverine but I don't expect it to outgross the first two films.

You understand that Fox was putting out Fantastic Four and X-Men movies at this same time right? And Deadpool beat Doctor Strange that year, which WAS part of the MCU.
The MCU audience was largely families, that's the reason even some of their individual character films got near or broke a billion.
Deadpool is not a family franchise, and still is a huge box office success, and will likely be one again, whatever you might think.
Correct. And this will bring Deadpool officially into the MCU with another rebooted X-men cast. So this all hinges on nostalgia for the X-men movies & basically the death signal for Deadpool as a franchise. With the modern Hollywood idea, Deadpool will probably end up looking something like this in the MCU.
Days of Future Past was the only X-Men movie to approach the Deadpool franchise which beat all of them domestically AND internationally, while hobbled by an R-rating, which only Logan shared.
