Specially because Cancer is not an external element killing them but rather their own bodies betraying them and their cells refusing to die...which often results in people still dying regardless in the end. As far as my limited knowledge goes Deadpool is the only one who can actually make a case of this, and even then its because his healing powers kinda work around his cancer.
And illness is a case of your body being sabotaged from the inside out, not "blunt forcing" your way out. Beast Boy is arguably one of the few I could buy resisting illness, and not because of "multiversal" stuff but rather because simply put having access to a lot of animal properties kinda means he can get a superb immunity system (and even then cancer could still make a number on him.)

It's even a plot point that he uses an androgynous body to sneak into womens' bathes because he wants to ogle breasts, though he later gets banned from doing this because everyone recognizes that he acts and talks like a 40 year old dude and that he's just trying to sneak a peak.
The story never tries to make Rimuru out to be a troony even though he's more than capable of assuming whatever form he wants. I suppose such nuance has been lost in the intervening decade since it was written.
