Seems a bit silly, but summoning storms being calced so high always has to me. He killed the Icon with his normal weaponry as well, I don't think he himself should be scaled directly to the Icon's power. I think the craziest thing he did was firing himself out of that canon since I'm pretty sure he hit a wall afterwards. Not sure what that scales too, but his durability is obviously insane.
Not sure what non-wanked and correctly scaled mean in this context given they actually do go ham in the lore with nu Doom but even going by just gameplay stuff and what happens in levels he should safely stomp Chief. He has access to chronomancy and "second chance" runes as well as built in extra lives. He also physically punches through titanic chains, kool aid mans through walls, and launches himself from a space cannon without a scratch.

what also made it work was that Machamp is a very fun pokemon to animate a fight with, could get really physical with him

It’s a fun little matchup, he’s all cartoony and strong and has four arms. His whole thing is being based off bodybuilders and pro wrestlers, it allows for you to put on a show. It’s why Balrog vs TJ works so well, it’s using characters meant for spectacles
