Death Battle seems to composite the Toei anime, DBS anime and DBS manga for most matches with DB characters. Like Broly vs Hulk, Vegeta vs Thor, Beerus vs Galaxia. So I'm inclined to say yes.
That can work yes. Freeza has used telepathy in the DBS Anime and Goku is actually a pretty advanced psychic, he can read minds instantly and see visions when he is unconscious.
For Freeza I'd bring up him resisting Hell's torture and preventing his own reincarnation. He even uses mental training to stay sane and continue resisting the process. That would imply a very high level of willpower which could resist mindhax to an extent. If it's enough to resist his memories being wiped and his soul purified then it's enough to resist a telepath fricking with his brain for a bit.

Rewatching goku vs frieza and I have to say, where the frick does the idea that frieza never trains came from?
Those moves aren't from someone who hasn't train in all his life.

It's a little complex. Freeza is depicted as a genius even in Z. He copied Krillin's Destructo Disk after seeing it just once when it was fired at him from behind. From there you can conclude he's just that talented at Ki Control that he can create a variety of techniques on the fly. It's also probable he's copied things like King Cold's Death Beam and maybe shit like the Supernova is something he based on Beerus' sphere.
In terms of statements supporting him training? He vaguely alludes to King Cold and him fighting at some point. Toriyama also stated Beerus and him used to be friends but Freeza got on his bad side and they fought. These are the only instances of Freeza having any serious fighting experience before Namek.
This month's chapter should end right around Gohan Beast so next month should be the end, unless Toyo pulls some black magic to somehow extend the fight.
I have a feeling that the reason why manga pacing is so slow is due to Iyoku-shueisha.

Consider he killed Piccolo, Krillin and Dende instantly and planned to kill Gohan. He only really tortured Vegeta and Goku because they're saiyans who have fricked with him continually. Even in RoF he instantly defeats Gohan and was going to kill him with no frick's given.
You need to get on his shitlist real fricking badly for him to take his sweet time making your last moments a living hell.
People with talent can indeed perform task better than those without it. I agree, but the motive of my post boiled down to the fact that every move showed by the tyrant was not made by someone who only had talent. You see, he knows how to fight, knows how to effectively control his ki, able to act accordingly to situations. Those sort of things are the result of his own discipline as a fighter.
Freeza has seen countless battles and we know he has fought with Beerus and King Cold before. So given he can copy the Destructo Disk and was born with his power it's fair to believe he just copied various people he saw over the years. We even see this in RoF. He copies Goku's Turtle style stance and Golden is based on Super Saiyan.
That may sound all strange but Goku is far lesser of a prodigy when it comes to Ki and he copied the Kamehameha after just seeing it the first time.
Wasn't one of Goku's big advantages that Frieza didn't know how to use and sense Ki correctly? He could not sense ki after the battle and he barely know how to output his power in 100% state. Also, it is easy to look flashy and strong, when everyone else is slow as shit compared to you. Reminder that Frieza was holding back until he went 100%
Freeza was skilled at Ki. Far more than most other fighters throughout the universe. He was able to control his power finely enough to fight at 1% and his suppression forms also would take good Ki Control. Your idea of Ki Control is distorted because Earth is our perspective and Earth's martial artists are some of the best Ki users in the multiverse and have a variety of techniques unknown to the rest of U7.
His only problem was that he never learned to sense Ki, a skill that barely anyone in Universe 7 knows and he likely didn't even know existed, and he had little to no experience fighting seriously so he wasn't used to using his full power.
So Freeza is extremely talented at Ki Control. He just lacks knowledge of concepts that very few people in his universe know (normal) and lacks experience because he never needed to fight seriously (normal).
Put it this way, Freeza was able to match SS1 Goku's Kamehameha with his Nova Strike and traded hands with him in hand-to-hand when at equalised powers. All with little to no combat experience.
I don't recall if it's stated or not but I have no reason to think he doesn't. It's not stated he doesn't and every notable fighter uses it.

If they really want to "save" Death battle as in getting more views they should ironically enough Axe the Death aspect of Death battle and focus on the story telling aspect they are trying to go with for their fights. The story telling they go with seems to be one of the things that draws the normalgays the most nowdays but most of the time they try it just falls flat on its face because the justification for characters killing eachother is really stupid and out of character with a few exceptions where it works very well like Colex but thats never going to happen
-get rid of animated hosts and meta shit
-focus on characterization in fights instead of stats/scaling (e.g. put more stock into how the characters would act to determine fights when it is relevant)
-better booking

Even if they aren't fully done in those 14 days they are stil worked on during that time as evidenced by some of the previews not even having finalized sound/music work by the time they are shown.
They fights are clearly worked on during the big breaks between seasons but even then it still doesn't feel like they are given enough time for just how many of them they are and how quickly they release one after another
