I'm pretty sure one of their rules is something like "characters have no prior knowledge of each other unless stated otherwise"
For example Courage and Scooby knew each other so they have general knowledge about what they are capable of, Rick knew the Dr. Who show so he knows the basics for Timelord shenanigans (obviously he didn't knew everything about him because otherwise he wouldn't have entered the TARDIS)
But, for example, Goku wouldn't know that Superman is vulnerable to kryptonite (in GvS1 he was surprised to find out said weakness) and Makima didn't knew about any of Gojo's powers despite the meme "aura" DB tried to argue he possessed.

I think Death Battle doesn't actually understand Goku's character. They seem to think that the only thing he cares about is fighting, but that misses the mark. Assuming Superman is this wall standing tall for Goku, I do not think he would be the type to want to do rematch after rematch. He'd only rechallenge if he believed that he could, otherwise he'd want to learn from them a la Beerus and Whis. His joy for fighting strong people is that it allows him overcome himself.

Merged Zamasu is a complete mess though, if you use his manga version then he is an infinitely cloning himself and if you use his anime version then he is a conscious and ever growing miasma. But we have no idea if Zeno was required to defeat him or not. Goku seems to think he could take out the Zamiasmasu if he was ate his full strength. Zeno on the other hand felt the need to erase everything to the point he is floating by himself in a sort of glittery spatial nothingness that we haven't seen before or since.
At least with Crimson Mask Black, we have seen him defeated in a way that is easier to frame within the narrative of a fight.

The thing is that, while still a likely win for Baki, Ohma winning is not completely out of the possibility. He has a good amount of Hax and decent AP feats for someone to make an argument for him, it would require a bit mental gymnastics (just like Makima Vs Gojo!) But is something possible, so most people that don't know either character would just accept it.

I'm not super huge onto power scaling, but I've seen times where most debaters would attempt to mold their own versions of certain characters despite the narrative of the franchise and/or it's setting saying otherwise. They would take scenes/statements out of context and interpret certain features in such detail that has never been shown in the original work. Sometimes it got so bad, that it felt like I was reading a fanfiction version of that character.
Sometimes, certain power scalers would selectively pick which arguments that the other power scaler would use; like picking the food that you cattle eats.
I can respect power scaling as a hobby - so long it's productive. It's when the scalers try to convince other people that they have a higher authority over the author for a character/franchise that they didn't write for.

They’re not that meta. The only thing that gets really fricky are the resets/saves/multiple timeline creation via saves, but they can do the exact same thing but better just by being super determined. Besides, Ness is their best choice.

I wouldn’t really say that it’s a problem, especially since Ness has a similar thing going on, except it’s a cosmic force “rewriting”/negating (some) of his losses and making them effectively nothing more than bad dreams. So you can very easily have Frisk respawning via The Player’s will and Ness doing the same with their The Player.
Frisk is a universe-buster if you scale him to Chara, which is a bit out of Ness's league. Simon the Digger would probably be a closer fight for Frisk.

Imagine if it was styled like an Undertale battle, with Frisk's soul frantically dodging dozens of drill missiles and having to dodge between the tiny gaps between stars as literal galaxies get thrown at him, with black holes trying to suck him in and lasers coming from all directions as Simon going through all of GL's forms, each one with bigger and bigger sprites. Then, he shrinks all the way down to his human form, jumps into the box himself, and starts trying to beat the shit out of Frisk's soul with his barehands, all while Frisk is dodging and weaving.
