It was never supposed to be.
There is an entire arc of the manga where another character uses proxies and henchmen to test the limits of the guy's instant death power with various traps and tricks. If you would press a button and nuke a city that the guy is in, you would die the moment you decided to press the button *even if you don't know the guy exists and thus cannot mean him harm*. Landmines fail because the landmine dismantles itself before it can explode when he steps on it. Even poisons don't work, because he is automatically aware of anything that would lead to harm.
His power is not based on perception, perspective, or intent. He explains the rules poorly to others because he tries to keep things simple, but the real picture is that he has perfect awareness of every future outcome that could result in his death by any means. Then he either makes the choice to avoid that outcome (not drinking the poison, stepping around the landmine, etc) or to instantly kill whoever is responsible. And that choice propagates backwards through time.
The Flash cannot kill him fast enough, because there is no 'fast enough'. If Galactus tries to eat the world he is standing on, Galactus dies. There is no plan, no trap, no 'accidental' death indirect enough that you can set up that will not at best fail or at worst result in you dropping dead as soon as you make any choice or take any action that would result in it. There is no immunity, it works on things which fundamentally cannot die or have some explicit defense against magic or instant death or whatever. It. Just. Works.
There is the an end of the line in terms of deathbattle arguments, and he is it.

There is an entire arc of the manga where another character uses proxies and henchmen to test the limits of the guy's instant death power with various traps and tricks. If you would press a button and nuke a city that the guy is in, you would die the moment you decided to press the button *even if you don't know the guy exists and thus cannot mean him harm*. Landmines fail because the landmine dismantles itself before it can explode when he steps on it. Even poisons don't work, because he is automatically aware of anything that would lead to harm.
His power is not based on perception, perspective, or intent. He explains the rules poorly to others because he tries to keep things simple, but the real picture is that he has perfect awareness of every future outcome that could result in his death by any means. Then he either makes the choice to avoid that outcome (not drinking the poison, stepping around the landmine, etc) or to instantly kill whoever is responsible. And that choice propagates backwards through time.
The Flash cannot kill him fast enough, because there is no 'fast enough'. If Galactus tries to eat the world he is standing on, Galactus dies. There is no plan, no trap, no 'accidental' death indirect enough that you can set up that will not at best fail or at worst result in you dropping dead as soon as you make any choice or take any action that would result in it. There is no immunity, it works on things which fundamentally cannot die or have some explicit defense against magic or instant death or whatever. It. Just. Works.
There is the an end of the line in terms of deathbattle arguments, and he is it.
