Over the last couple of years we also lost the creators of the Berserk manga and the Yugioh manga. Toriyama and them all dying over the course of three years must be for the manga community kind of like what it was like for American comic fans between 1992 and 1998 where we lost Joe, Jerry, Bob Kane and Jack Kirby. I kind of think it may be worse for the manga community because it's only 3 years instead of 6, and the 3 manga authors were all still working on projects that they planned to publish.

Assuming that Death Battle didn't die yesterday and that S11 was on the way, how would they handle Dragon Ball matchups from now on? Obviously, the book is closed on the GvS saga, but there's still more matchups with DB characters. Would they just ignore the series, like how they did for so long with Berserk due to fear of "disrespecting" his author post-humously? Would they try to give the DB loser a respectful death, like they did with Guts when he finally came back? Or would they just feed Dragon Ball easy pity win MUs forever, like Gohan vs Invincible or Cell vs Kars?

It's the fact that Megatron is limited to just Sunbow and IDW (especially their comment about how they seemingly thought they were in one continuity) when even Prime got at least stuff from Marvel as well (I guess they left out Marvel because Marvel Galvatron is reoccuring character in some Japanese G1 fiction).
And even if G1 was just too vast to research, then they should have just used Unicron Trilogy Megatron, his final form already acts like a DBZ character as well, but I guess potential Unicron scaling was scary.
Frieza absolutely got a softball where they composited Megatron in such a way that even despite a potential cheap shot letting Megs win, Frieza would be so above him that it would almost never happen.
It is why allowing composite battles were a mistake. If the composite loses someone will always argue that you're biased for not including X or Y version. Even though for this battle they only used main canon Anime/Manga Frieza. So I see why the Japanese G1 or Alternity keeps getting brought up.

Using the main canon anime and the main canon manga is not a composite. anymore than using the main canon anime and the main canon Manga version of Naruto or Luffy is a composite.
For Dragon Ball proper yes, for Toei super anime vs. Toyotaro super manga, no. Those are distinct continuities now. Compare how Gohan went out in both versions of the Tournament of Power.

Isn't that...standard? If there is an animated adaptation of a comic and that animated adaptation expands on a character's feats and abilities and is an official product then you would obviously use that.
It feels strange to bring that up like a true composite when most of that is all approved by the original author. It's not like western comics where the character has numerous writers across numerous stories. Especially not when a lot of the time they create 'canon' composites merging multiple eras of one character across several or even dozens of writers.
Put it this way, nobody takes Freeza's universal statements from the anime material even remotely seriously. Yet I see plenty of Superman fans cite shit from several decades ago that makes no sense in the vast majority of his stories and has been irrelevant...like screaming so loudly it equates to 10 billion decibels. Which is far more egregious than Namek Freeza having universal statements.
I mean what would happen if we fully composited the characters? Next thing you know Freeza scales to most of the same shit Goku does in Heroes...and has immortality...and invulnerability...and cloning...and the power to absorb the powers of evil beings...and possibly the ability to transform into Janemba...and all sorts of other zany shit. All things he never does in the main story of Dragon Ball.

There are still some noticeable discrepancies between the anime and manga for Super, so I think using feats from both for a non-composite is pretty odd.
Maybe for characters like Zamasu but what exactly is so different about Freeza between the anime and manga? The most I can think of is him resisting and controlling Destruction energy. But I think that a bit hard to consider that notable when we see in the manga that characters like Gas, Goku and I believe Granolah can resist destruction energy with their own Ki. And it'd be a bit fricking goofy if Freeza couldn't do the same when he's called the 'strongest warrior' officially.

Zeno still destroys the future timeline. Black Saga still has moronic scaling. Well, if we composite Sheev, RoS showed that he can possess anyone who kills him. So the second Frieza death-beams Palpy in the head, his body gets taken over, and now Palpy gets TWO whole empires to rule over.
That's presuming Palpatine can possess him when Hell couldn't force Freeza to give in after 20 years of torture. I don't see how Freeza wouldn't be able to throw off Babidi's control when Vegeta could for example. And Babidi's control is a form of possession.

It's kind of funny to me how powerscalers are completely oblivious to the concept of absoluteness. Even when confronted with concepts such as omnipotence they're just like "this doesn't make sense to me."
To be absolute means to be unsurpassable (not only unsurpassed). If something is absolute it can't be transcended in any way. There's no such thing as "beyond absoluteness" is a contradiction of terms by the definition of absoluteness. If something can be transcended then it's (by definition) not absolute.
All you need to do to create the most powerful verse. Is to create an omnipotent being, clarify that he's absolutely powerful and just leave him be. That's it. Suggsverse, the SCPverse, etc. will all lose to this being.

it is established ff7 characters exist in a multiverse and sephiroth's plan is to combine with all of existence. also sephiroth can travel from one universe to another, that's some interesting hax he has now.
cloud is pretty much confirmed stronger than his entire team combined (minus vincent) and zack is as strong as cloud.
the biggest takeaway for me is that this game actually really hammers in that these characters die to bullets so the whole "moon level zack" meta should be dead from now on.

In terms of high end feats, I was floored to find out Andrew Bennet, I Vampire of all characters, destroyed the universe and survived that same destruction. That was some Chirico level immortality. I read all his House of Mystery stories and then saw he had a few appearances in Dr. Fate and thought "Yeah, he probably just cameos or something." Nope.
DeMatteis in general surprised me with how many high-end feats he would hand out to characters. He was a writer that didn't mind high power levels.

An interesting idea that I don't think any writer has ever explored would be the concept of time-linked multiverses. You know the 52 localized multiverse? Well, there should be a 52 for 1945. In such a 52, Earth-1 doesn't have superheroes, the JSA have just won WW2 on Earth-2, Earth-S is old Fawcett comics, and Earth-4 is made of old Blue Beetle Comics from Fox and Holyoak. There should also be a 52 for DC 1 million where parallel Earths are likewise far-future sci-fi settings.
Reconciling "It's 1938" worlds showing up in the orrery is fairly simple. They're the result of people screwing with timelines without knowing what they're doing. The Time Masters (though lets be real, the Forgotten Heroes are the superior Rip Hunter team) work to pop these errant universes back to the right orrery.

This isn't exactly 2003 like your asking, It's much more silly of a canon but it's just a point of example since a quick wiki search of the turtles fighting a bug swarms only gave me this and it basically says that the bugs kicked their asses. More damningly it happened without any guiding intelligence behind the wheel and the solutions they employed there would be useless. What i'm getting at is that a skitter controlled swarm in that context would have had turtles dead to rights.
Prepping themselves with some decent protective equipment would massively help the turtles last through the swarm long enough to play hide and seek in a snowstorm of bugs. They can already cleave through any silk bondage imaginable. That would leave skitter with needing to use more involved ambush schemes like ferrying explosives/guns, clogging air intake spots with gunks or the slapdash construction of environmental traps.

RT owns DB. RT is shutting down. RT pays for DB's budget and employees salaries. Several animators have said that episode production is halted.
RT has a shutdown window of 60 days. The only IPs RT is interested in selling (or WBD is willing to sell) is RWBY and maybe Gen Lock, but not DB.

Vegeta dropped to like 1% of his power level compared to Z for no reason. The point is that power levels go up and down completely arbitrarily, and there’s no point using them to guess a consistent winner.

Whoever the writer wants to win ends up winning no matter what. There absolutely are power-levels in comics, but the issue is that there are so many different people writing with different interpretations and objectives that those power levels rarely stay consistent with one another.
