WHERE ARE THE LORE SHOWS!?!?
GIVE ME MY LORE SHOWS!!!!
Good riddance.
and all those shitty lore shows didn't even give a decent payout.
Lore shows? More like prostitute shows!
>Not bore shows
ONE FRICKING JOB
None of those you listed even followed through with their lore except for maybe Steven Universe.
American cartoons just can't into lore/world building, its just not possible with that kind of story telling format.
>American cartoons just can't into lore/world building
Neither can anime. Lore/world building is for tabletop morons who ask too many questions about the DnD campaign they're in.
>Neither can anime
2/10
That anon is right, anime can't lorebuild for shit (see terrible ones like One Piece, Naruto, MHA, DBZ, Bleach, etc)
stop watching goyslop shonen anime tailored for literal japanese grade schoolers.
stop watching goyslop disney cartoons tailored for literal american grade schoolers.
why would I watch something desperately trying to be like anime and failing, when I could just watch an actual anime???
You're both homosexuals. The only acceptable form of media is Fox News and Golf.
I don't think it's impossible, Americans make plot centered series with live action. Just do this but animated.
The issue with cartoons is that they are weirdly schizophrenic about them and believe a cartoon was either meant to be super safe bullshit for moronic 5 year olds or mature. The first cannot do anything interesting because the creators assume that the audience is moronic and mentally weak so anything serious would traumatize them. The mature cartoons could technically be great but strangely they're always crap. Because the creators define "mature" as series that try to be as badass and cool as possible aka soulless garbage with gore, ugly monsters and witty one-liners.
Gravity falls went through it with
Amphibia went through with it.
SU was a schizophrenic mess.
Owl House got cut short because Bob Chapek got pissed at Dana for making a gay kids show. She will likely not be able to make another show again because of this, she's industry blacklisted now and was brought up a few times during the Justin Roiland fiasco as she and her cuck bf Alex Hirsch are buddies, as well as her weird obsession with underaged lesbian pairings. (she has the same fricking hair as that Amity chick, fyi)
Star was boring but it did follow through
Infinity train was super pretentious and a mess. It deserved to be cancelled.
People were more excited about that mirror chick being non-binary than the actual show.
The common thread all these shows had was that they were made for kids but marketed towards 20 something adult children.
So the industry wants to go back to what worked, which is not hiring weird childish hipster millennials and using formulas to make shows like they used to.
Wow you have terrible taste.
Wow you have great taste
>Except for maybe Steven Universe
Even they dropped the ball with the lore, remember when the original plan to have Steven and Lars discover the origins of the diamonds was replaced with some stupid drama between Steven and Connie?
>remember when the original plan to have Steven and Lars discover the origins of the diamonds
No because that was never the original plan to begin with.
SU could have been fricking great but they limited themselves too much with the locked PoV that never allowed us to see much about other perspectives or characters since we had to rely on Steven being there or hearing about it. I still wonder if they changed their mind regarding the Diamonds though. The series was clearly aware of their guilt and misdeeds and painted them as horrible and traumatizing (see the Bismuth episode among other things). But then it changed completely and was never addressed, as if it was a different series. Maybe they had no time anymore or dealing with the crimes would have resulted in direct mentions of genocide and such which would be too dark. No idea.
Regarding this, it's kind of interesting that when you compare Cinemaphile's 3x3 threads with Cinemaphile's 3x3 threads, with a few exceptions Cinemaphile tends to like shows that have some kind of continuity or if they are episodic there is always a grander theme at play while Cinemaphile tends to like either comedies or episodic adventure stuff.
>shitty drama in kid’s cartoon
lore shows suck dick
Spongebob won.
Skibidi Toilet proves otherwise
>Skibidi Toilet proves otherwise
Gen Alpha doesn't pay attention to the story, they just think a guy's head in a toilet is funny.
Skibidi Toilet is Gen Alpha's Homestuck
Literally every single "lore show":
>"hey, watch our super extra deep show! it's not like those silly cartoons for toddlers with talking dogs, our cartoon has LORE!"
>*so-called lore ends up being a convoluted mess filled with disappointing contradictions and unanswered questions*
>"um, actually, this show was always for kids, okay, you couldn't expect us to write REAL lore lmao"
If that's what we'll be missing, good riddance. At least silly cartoons for toddlers with talking dogs are honest.
why even have lore in kids shows? they don't make money generally and those that do are exceptions.
Good I want my cartoons to be nonsensical and return to status quo at the end of every episode.
You guys are ignoring Moon Girl on purpose at this point.
Probably because no one watches that. Has none of the hype the show's OP listed.
Flying Bark speciality is making great shows that fly under the radar just like their precursor, Titmouse.
>You now remember that after years and years of animated action kino, Titmouse biggest show is the one where a teenager fricks a pillow and gets it pregnant
How did we let this happen?
Haven't seen it and don't plan on watching it because of the LGBQT poropaganda
Lesbian Gay Bisexual Cutie? Where
You’re a moron
>t.troony
t. virgin
>seething so hard he forgot to actually greentext
yeah, we know
the troony part usually implies that
The general attitude is
>why are there no shows with x anymore
>here’s a show that currently has x
>I’m not familiar with that so it doesn’t count
Because loregays are hypocrites when it comes to cape stuff
>Moon Girl
Never heard of it, is it actually good?
Yes, in more ways than one (this is Casey, Lunella’s bestie in the show)
Did they really need to give her that outfit?
Did she really need to do those lip bites constantly?
Si
I NEED to make a her a teen mom.
>Marvelshit
For good reason.
Apart from Casey (who is best girl) it's a woke psychedelic mess.
It's literally "CRT the show".
>CRT the show
I think you’re the one on psychedelics dude
The Dragon Prince is still on but the previous season leaves it to be desired
Everyone keeps going on about how Molly McGee has no lore and that’s what makes it good but then they do shit like this
>they
>one twitterite
Is all shark no bite supposed to be an important lore episode? I dont remember anything from it other than the cute shark
Bluey.
Can't believe they confirmed that the mom had a miscarriage before bluey in a book
theorygays won
there was also that thing in sleepytime
the sun represented chilli, and bluey and bingo are venus and earth respectively, the 2nd and 3rd planets from the sun
Which book?
What dose “lore show” even mean? Always sounded like buzzword “old good, new bad” gays use to throw any show that has a plot in the same box
Either “show I like” or “show I don’t like” depending on the person
That's not what that means, at all you disingenuous gaywad.
You know I’m right
Shows with continuity and overarching storylines.
Basically every cartoon has continuity now.
But not continuity that actually matters
What continuity matters?
So…… any cartoon with a story?
cartoons typically don't put much focus on the world outside the main cast due to their digestible and episodic nature.
They are designed so anyone can watch it at any time and not need any kind of context about what's going on.
A good example would be Tom and Jerry or Oggy and the wienerroaches.
Shows that don't just return to the status quo almost every episode.
Most of those shows had over half the episodes be SoL episodic
>WHERE ARE THE LORE SHOWS!?!?
BROKEN, SCATTERED, HUNTED, DEFEATED!
By me.
I want you and frankposter to fight.
The /fog/gay and I will soon meet, on the battlefield.
YES! Excellent!
It will be legendary
Wow man you sound like you have a lot of lore behind you.
Ugly
He still managed to have millions of women swoon over him so...
Cinemaphile doesn't want to talk about actual good lore shows (pic related) and is instead still complaining and coping that a half dozen shit shows ended.
I love runes, too.
Do you have any subtitles for the animation?
The ones I found on Cinemaphile didn't have subtitles for episodes 5, 10, and 13.
I don't care if it's in English, German, or French.
I have machine translated the german subs into english but the translation is really wonky.
I'm going to proof read the subs but it will take time as I'm only at episode 2 (of 26).
aHR0cHM6Ly9tZWdhLm56L2ZvbGRlci9vUUVpMVNhQSNjQXVaekJENGNSUnQ3QVVGQzJ3ZC1B
Can you provide German subtitles without proofreading?
I'm trying to translate
Here are the unchanged german subs for all episodes:
https://files.catbox.moe/67ynzu.zip
And this are the english machine translated subs:
episodes 01-13:
https://files.catbox.moe/4mdc1r.zip
episodes 14-26:
https://files.catbox.moe/ao2gr6.zip
my god rly thx a lot
Thanks for the link! Are these the raw files with no subtitles?
Yes, I had only the german version with german subs and just recently found the mega of the french version with french subs.
I'm working at an english subbed version atm.
https://gall.dcinside.com/m/euca/1358206
I found it on a Korean site.
I'm surprised that they're working on the translation in 1080p, which they haven't done in the West.
Looks like they've already translated up to episode 17.
This looks pretty, where does it air?
my guess is you have to be a frog or just a yuro since its says Canal+ on the top
Aw, that's lame, the Europeans once again keeping the good shit to themselves. I want to enjoy things from other countries that aren't Japan.
I am German but I don't have tv so I didn't even know it was airing here, fu-
Nevermind. Thank you will check it out.
Lore show is just another way of saying show with continuity, and almost everything has continuity now. Hell, even that new twink Superman show has clear continuity with hints for later developments.
>”totally epic serialized lore show”
>it’s actually almost entirely episodic aside from about one episode out of every twenty being somewhat plot-important
Every time
The only ones that aren't this in the kids animation realm and are actual long-form serialized lore cartoons (say, LOT3C and GE&H) are funny enough never brought up by loregays ever.
They only bring up shows like TOH and GF and SV which are almost entirely episodic outside season openings and finales
TOH is episodic for the first half then becomes serialized and never stops being serialized
I actually like this
The episodic episodes build world and character, and then the plot episodes feel more impactful
>WHERE ARE THE LORE SHOWS!?!?
Anime is pretty
Call arts is ugly as sin
>Anime is pretty
Calarts is cute
>Best lore cartoon was made 20 years ago
Beanmouth zoomers were born losers lmao
I think one of its greatest strengths was that despite have actual supervillains and a movie where the threat was very real, it never took itself too seriously. Only time i think i think the tone was dark was that movie, but it still felt so much more rewarding than current finales.
Pretty much, the show knew it was silly and just made it epic silly unlike the 10s lore shows who are 100% serious about it and we get shit like super saiyan anne played straight
Honestly, yeah. Part of the charm is the dubious shit of any of it.
The 2x4 tech which is just hobbled together shit from household or workshop items, that somehow make a laser gun or fire teddy bears at high velocity, complete with a funny acronym.
The wackily themed villains all based on a kids perception of what adults are/face in daily life like Father, Knightbrace or Count Spankulot.
And the fact that you have an entire global/intergalactic spy organisation of kids fighting adults from giant ass treehouse forts as the premise.
>Numbuh 5's candy hunt episodes were the best.
>Inb4 her dad was a Bill Cosby parody.
Loved it when I was a kid, remember when we had our first pay tv and finally got Cartoon network, really loved the series, I still remember some episodes, like number 1 becoming adult and selling icecream and always this fight between rich kids and the adult stuff against kids.
and naother thing about the title, toriginal title is Kids Next Door?
For localization in my country was called "Kommando New Devils" I tought it was Kick ass name.
Captcha:H4GAY
I’ll never not be pissed about the fact that gumball, one of the most visually creative cartoons ever (one of the best looking “mixed media” shows too) is used as an example
I honestly think it's perfect. You can be absolutely sure that anyone who uses Gumball as an example of unoriginal animation is a complete moron and his opinion can be discarded immediately.
Gumball had a reason to look like that, unfortunately the morons who made Gravity Falls just took the art style from the wattersons because it was cheaper to animate while completely missing the rest that made the show work and then started this cancerous trend

>three separate posts
sad
Also notice how when they mean "lore shows" the always only mean "lore shows that start underage human girls" and all other lore shows are ignored?
How many shows star adult human men
I mean we did have Final Space which had lore
But people here didn't really like it
Season 1 was acting pretty kino
Season 2 was ass
I didn't watch season 3
For kids cartoons? Maybe a small handful in the past 25 years
Adult cartoons? The vast majority of them
Adult cartoons are super shit most of the time
That's just because every damn cartoon that isn't a family guy tier comedy or Netflix "anime" is staring girl MCs now. I don't like it either.
Doesn't Hailey's On It have like killer robots trying to off the MC and her stopping global warming?
>her stopping global warming?
That sounds really boring
You can thank them on why Disney stopped to make lore shows......
It's funny that on the threads of that show we found out that The Roundtable made a vow to not cover DTVA shows anymore after the end of TOH,
>The Roundtable made a vow to not cover DTVA shows anymore after the end of TOH
A. sauce? and B. never cared for them, even Saberspark is more engaging than them
They have been one of the many doomgays on YT saying that kids networks don't care about original IPs while ignoring that Disney TVA still keeps making and greenlighting original IPs Molly McGee,Kiff,Hailey,Primos,StuGo,The Doomies,Dragon Striker,Kizazi Moto,Fantasy Sports,The Witchverse and Rhona Who Lives by the River
Many anons noticed this as they prefer to talk about Hazbin/Helluva than promoting the recent original output at Disney.
>ACK
Was Molly always down there?
Everyone knew the show was going to be trash from the first teaser
yet it ultimately generated more buzz and recognition than hilda did (and didnt need to ruin a Ms. Cinemaphile to do so) .... curious....
>Outlived Shillda
Jesus Christ destroyed all of them and their faithless existences. The refusal to stay loyal and stick to our true King brings great consequences. You want an epic that tells you the truth and themes of this world, pick up the Bible.
The Owl House was never a lore show
It's the most lore out of all of them.
murder drones
Murder Drones is one of those shows that has a shit ton of lore that isn't spoon-fed to you. As long as you get past the cringe comedy they were originally gunning for before they decided to make it actually interesting, you'll be able to sustain yourself on the lore for a while.
The finale will probably be come by the end of the year, though, and there's only three out of eight episodes left. But it's free on YouTube, so there's that.
You never gave a shit about lore, you just wanted cute gay girls to fap to
Do Unicorn: Warriors Eternal and My Adventures with Superman not count as lore shows?
No because it doesn't have the beanmouth art style
There’s the new Superman cartoon.
It's my opinion that the Owl House was truly the last 2010s era show. All the major cartoons between Adventure Time (2010) and Owl House (2020) followed that lore model and it looks like studios are prepared to move away from that. A 2010s cartoon, in retrospect, will likely be considered a lore show and I'm expecting people will probably treat the term (whatever it may be) like how people treat the term "90s cartoon"
Wow way to go out on a whimper.
press S to spit
Good. I’d rather laugh at jokes and gahs than theorize about bad writing
Episodic content with a lesson to be learned is far better than this story crap since most of these writers drop the ball HARD after a season or two.
Do cartoons these days even have dedicated writers?
A lot of these cartoons fumble the whole lorebuidling thing because they have storyboarders in charge of writing, and they don't always work on the same episodes and tend to just do whatever they want
A good example would be what Lauren Zuke did to fricking Peridot and Lapis Lazuli whenever she got a chance to board.
This point never works because the anime characters still look more different. Some have rounder faces, or their chin will curve differently, or their faces will be longer. With the calarts slop, all of the characters look like the come off of the same template.
There were dozens of action cartoons from the 2000s with deep lore, Ben 10 and the 4kids Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had deep lore, fricking Winx Club and Totally Spies had deep lore
2010s shows are an insult since none of them have decent writing, were made by millenials to vent about being autistic, and all look fricking disgusting because they can't draw tfor the life of them. Don't invoke lore cartoons if you talk about the animated equivalent of indie 8 bit video games made by hipsters and homosexuals.
By their very nature, they have to end. How would you like it if a lore show went on forever and never got to the fricking point?
Wait for the third Avatar series.
SURELY it'll be out within the next 5 years.
because those cost money.
Teen Titans Go proved you can put some dumb shit on, and it can be done for cheap. get VAs to voice years' worth of content and then just pump out thousands of episodes.
Gen Alpha has the attention span of a parakeet.
I had to endure kids shows at a birthday party today. They are insultingly moronic.
Hailey so far has as much lore as Amphibia's first season. Hope they can sneak more in there.
>villain gets built up over multiple seasons as being all-powerful and ooh so scary
>btfo in literally 30 seconds by a deus ex machina and/or suddenly becoming a moron
Finally. They all sucked.
Fricking KND had better, more interesting in-universe lore, and it wasn't even the main focus of the show lol.
>GIVE ME MY LORE SHOWS!!!!
It's called watching Saturday morning cartoons in the 90s abd 00s like pic related as they "lore-heavy" without wasting your time too.
Continuity =/= Lore. Worldbuilding =/= Lore. Lore is a component of worldbuilding, it adds extra fluff for the setting. Worldbuilding also contains systems and frameworks for how things work, something you can't really classify as lore.
More than half these shows did not have lore. A backstory or a generic prophecy is not lore. Inconsistent and changing logic for plot convenience takes away from the lore.
I don't know why people can't understand what the frick a lore-driven show is. Xiaolin Showdown is not lore-driven because there is a small backstory about the Shen Gong Wu. Same thing goes for fricking Recess even though there's a ton of worldbuilding on that little playground. If all it took was a cool setting with some props to be a "lore-driven show", then the fricking 80's was the Golden Age but we all know that's not true.
I should add that when I am saying "lore" I mean "lore-driven", since that's what people usually mean when they say a "a show with lore".
I just say lore show so everyone knows white I'm talking about.
I obviously mean shows like Gravity Falls, Star vs, and SU (or even those 80s shows that had continuity)
You had a perfectly good one and you didnt watch it because it didnt have little girls in it.
Sorry, I need those waifus.
How about a viking milf with Aunt Cass energy?
I ignore the girl shit too like amphibia and owl house. Hate the drawing style too and since it's disney I don't expect anything exciting to ever happen. I hate that most cartoons characters look like chibi shit and maskots.
This show had lore?
I was told it was just SoL
Yes, regarding the Ruby Pure Heart and its effects on the town. Its unsolved mystery now.
Why are people still talking about calarts when the most popular style is that family guy/rick and morty frog eye shit? Literally every new cartoon looks like this.
Craig of the Creek still has lore, though I haven't caught up in years, so I dunno what's going on now.
Pic related looks cool. I hope I will remember it when it comes.
Good. All were shit.
