>pseudo, the thread
BPD AND ECSTASY
You think that loser got pussy off that song?
>says only pedos frick these types of women
>says he'd hit anyways
What did he mean by this?
Who the Frick misunderstand Scott fricking pilgrim
The message is clear as day(dating pixie girls can be the biggest mistake of your life)
you do because the whole point is that scott is even worse than she is because he's about to become another evil ex of hers
Bad boy to serial killer pipeline is real
emphasis on the "pipe"
Same Anon if I remember correctly isn't the entire deal with sp is that both Ramona and Scott are horrible people with fricked up past and social attitudes I mean the new cartoon literally went through this and spell it to us with the secret final boss hmmm hmm.
But if we're talking about the movie I still stand with my initial post
But wouldn't that happen to any boyfriend she gets?
Or he could just reject the invitation to join the league. Who cares? The only thing Scott did wrong was being an ass to Knives.
You sound really bitter. Did you lose an argument?
what is the correct understanding of scott pilgrim?
Scott Pilgrim is Peter Pan. He doesn’t think it’s weird to be dating 17 year old Knives because he’s in a state of arrested development. Peter Pan as a literary character is like the god of escapism: the Darling children are being abused or ignored by their Londoner parents and he saves them from their mundane lives by taking them to Neverland. But Peter Pan, the story of a boy who refuses to grow up, is a tragedy. The heroic thing anyone who finds themselves at a similar “in between” stage of their life is to grow up. In the movie this means Scott accepting Ramona as another person who, like him, has flaws and a past filled with mistakes. In the comic, Scott gets a job flipping burgers.
>least offending redditor on the registry
So the movie gives him a better ending?
In both the comic and the movie he walks into the sunset (or love portal or whatever) with Ramona but in the comic there’s a short epilogue where Scott gets a job and everyone is gay
so the message is to settle down with a prostitute?
The message is that you should realize the impact your actions have on others and take responsibility for them. Kim is clearly bitter about how things ended with Scott but he never acknowledges it. Despite being the one to initiate the breakup, Envy still hates Scott. Scott was cruel to lead Knives on until it was inconvenient for him and he apologizes to her. Scott saw Ramona as his fantasy dream girl but when faced with the reality of who she is as a person, he throws a tantrum and they break up (briefly). Scott’s most heroic moment in the movie is when he cops to cheating on both Knives and Ramona (a more immature version of Scott would try to justify it somehow) because it’s a zero sum game- he stands to gain nothing but it’s the right thing to do.
ah a woman’s delusional feminist self reassuring headcanon is “the right” take
the fight club movie didn't seem gay to me, but the book is possibly the gayest thing ever written in the history of humanity.
Fight Club isn't difficult to understand. A guy is driven insane by his lifestyle, creates a split personality, starts an underground boxing club and then he and the other boxers start engaging in shenanigans, vandalism and terrorism, and he gets a girlfriend along the way. Simple stuff.
The society potrayed in Starship Troopers is good
I don’t like that “media literacy” is being used as “you didn’t understand the meaning of x”
It should be used as “you don’t understand the context of this film in the long history of cinema”
I.e. “You haven’t watched/studied enough film to have an informed opinion”
So many gays and literal children spout such inane nonsense here that actual discussions about movies and filmmaking are overlooked or nonexistent. Too many morons comment about movies or shows they haven’t even watched. It’s just tiresome.
Got into an polite IRL argument with a purple haired feminist over the meaning of fight club. She claimed most guys misunderstand that movie but refused to believe the theme was about male emasculation in modern society.
Instead she only saw the toxic masculinity.
I mean yeah toxic masculinity is in there too but come on: a guy with breasts is crying about how much less of a man he feels in the first 5 minutes of the movie, its not that subtle. So yeah those are the people on twitter claiming you don't really get a movie
I started reading the comic and I must say that Michael Cera is a bad cast for Scott.
scott piligrim was about cool fights, cute girls, and very stylised editing. yeah okay scott isn't the best person, but if you delete that fact from the movie, the movie still stands
