The people who only discuss things for dumb culture war shit moved onto the next hot topic
Like most things that are decent but lack things to discuss, Cinemaphile rarely brings it up
The problem with that is if all the discussion was just about the "Scumbug", that itself lends credence that there was nothing of worth to discuss about the movie itself. It was just forgettable.
Good and forgettable are not mutually exclusive
Also most of the discussion otherwise was about making April ugly/black and the overuse of zoomer culture when plenty of previous TMNT stuff had been a timeless sort of thing
Yes they are. A forgettable movie isn't a good one. That means you wasted your time on something you barely remember due to how unremarkable it was. Like shitty AI art.
It's an unremarkable "how do you do, fellow kids?" film wearing the husk of an old franchise.
It's more interesting to talk about how this movie put off so many people. It did worse than the Paw Patrol sequel made for a fraction of its budget. The international results were terrible. I've seen cope saying TMNT was never popular outside of the U.S., but Paramount's live-action movies say otherwise. Outside of burgerland, it seems like it barely outgrossed the 2007 movie after adjusting for inflation. Yet Paramount is committed to this for at least a few more years.
It didn't do well because the only incarnation of the TMNT that people really give a shit about is the 80s series. Shredder's Revenge, which is basically a love letter to the 80s show was a massive hit. I see both adults and kids wearing TMNT merch in public and it's ALWAYS the referencing the 80s stuff. People want the pizza loving surfer dudes, not this zoomer shit.
Modern kids feel this way too - I showed my young ones a few episodes from all the different shows and they far prefer the 80s show to the others. It's just the right blend of action and comedy for them. A new traditionally animated movie with the Fred Wolf versions of the characters would make MONEY because kids would like it and nostalgia addled adults would show up in droves.

Let's be honest, 2003 was way better action adventure and would stick in the memories of people almost as good as 80s if it would stop before anime and time travel seasons.
2012 have April's butt and cool Splinter, but that's it. Just as 2003 soundtrack pales before 80s funky music, 2012 soundtrack pales before 2003. Making characters younger only makes them more obnoxious - children want to see superheroes and be like superheroes - not whiny nerds, moronic infantiles or street urchins, that look like generic homeless chav. Casey of 80s are crazed maniac, muscled over the top, wearing cool mask, beating the shit out of everyone around him. Casey of 2003 is slightly moronic, when shown in calm situations, but are still charismatic battle-hardened barbarian. Casey of 2012 is that Streets of Rage little Black person no one ever picks character tier.
And i am not even talking about Rise or later iterations. What next? TMNT toddler years?
(Also 2003 have best Shredder's armor.)
Old tv from 80 was Donnie's because full of tech gizmos.
Next tv from 2003 was Raph's because edginess and battles-focused.
2012 was Leo's because it is about honor, loyalty and enlightement.
Rise was Mikey's because everyone in the show is Mikey.
Not forgotten. It was awesome. Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross score was amazing.
Good
TMNT has never been good
Period
Full stop
Frankly all these action shows made to sell toys are all fricking terrible and need to die already
>Frankly all these action shows made to sell toys are all fricking terrible and need to die already
Cringe
>these action shows made to sell toys are all fricking terrible and need to die already
they're literally the only shows that had good animation
This movie was rancid garbage, it deserves to be dead and forgotten.
what did you hate about it?
Is this the first animated movie RLM reviewed?
who cares?
Nope, that was Sausage Party.
The toys are absolutely horrible.

>TMNT Mutant Mayhem US Box office: $118,613,586
>Paw Patrol The Mighty Movie US Box office: $65,231,360
Cope.
Yes, yes you were.

Didn't 2012 do well with merchandising?

>forgotten
>can't shut up about it and keep making threads about it
Sounds pretty memorable to me.
When was the last thread made out about it wise guy?
This isn't even the only Mutant Mayhem thread currently on Cinemaphile right now.
Maybe you should shut up about the movie for a few minutes before talking about how forgotten it is. Literally rent-free.
That's not my post, literally some other gay.

The ending made me feel empty.
