Jerking off isn't a personality
neither is shitting yourself

Your point?
Neither is being a troony

Nice
>all the coomers attacking this post
Fippy Bippy, OP's brain got major porn rot
This one still hurts.
She's hot but it would make the movie worse, it's a bad scene
lol
Why is everyone so fricking horny?
you don't even know,
B Movie initially was going to be a movie about the Seinfeld Gang as the Beatles playing music in some Sing-styled animal world. Thank Michael Richardson for that one falling apart.
I like the movie we got far more than another piece of coombait
>Another eyerolling joyless c**t.
They made the right choice
Does Becky Prim count? Everything was deleted.
id say it does. I still think about the pilot regularly. it might be up there with eltingville in terms of wasted potential. it was a good watch.
I wish he made more of them so we'd get more of her fat sit.
Wait what? Why? It was a funny pilot
No it wasn’t.
Explain
Is this real? Isn't that punching pose in the middle a meme?
do scrapped designs count? I think about tail leela often. she looks like she jumped out of a ziff davis scifi comic.
If they do count than r.i.p. poncho Chel
She would have been THE Cinemaphile babe for eternity
I like poncho Chel, but that design deprives us of her bare shoulders and midriff so I feel like it's inferior
Is she wearing anything besides the poncho?
No
You just reminded me Ultron was meant to look kino as frick but Disney has a problem with expressionless characters
And now Mandalorian is their bread and butter.
pics? I vaguely remember the concept art but ite been years since Ive seen it
the one that always comes to mind for me is the Hotel Transylvania concept art for Dracula
I really dont understand all these conceptual art for commercial movies, I mean in the end they will make the character look like its voice actor anyway
That’s what pisses me off the most
the creator of the series, Todd Durham, began working on it in 2006 and it went through a lot of different directors even after it got picked up, before eventually settling on Genndy.
It seems like Genndy may have actually been one of the main causes for the change. You can see in the second image, the topmost row is Gendy's contribution and how different it is from the others in design philosophy.
from wikipedia:
>Genndy Tartakovsky took over as the sixth scheduled director. He reimagined the film to follow the energy, organic nature, and exaggeration of 2D animation, particularly as seen in the work of director Tex Avery. "I took all the aesthetics I like from 2-D and applied them here," Tartakovsky said. "I don't want to do animation to mimic reality. I want to push reality."
>"I wanted to have an imprint so you'd go, 'Well, only Genndy can make this.' It's hard, especially with CG, but I feel there's a lot of moments that feel that they're very me, so hopefully it'll feel different enough that it has a signature to it."
99% of the time, that's because:
1. They do the concept art before they lock in whoever the VA is going to be
2. If a character's VA is famous enough, making the character look like them gives them bonus starpower and maximizes publicity because normalgays can rarely identify a VA by their voice alone
to be fair seeing those sex designs with adam sandler's voice would have been a turn off anyways
>all those designs thrown away just to make the final one literally just Adam Sandler
and eventually he didn't have to be voiced by Adam Sandler anymore
Like the other anon said, the early designs are rad but they should've chosen another VA for that.
imagine a world where they cast Christopher Lee to voice Dracula using one of those other designs.
these are cool as hell but it probably wouldn't fit the character's personality or the tone of the movie
although the first one on the seond pic is a pretty good approximation. kind of like the final design we got but a bit more over the top.
They even had one or two models based on the old designs before adam sandler.
she looks like she would have made the film insufferable, fap material or no
Remember what they took from you.
where is that from? that design is great, what a waste
Proto croods girl.
They been doing this for a while, starting off with nice fresh new character then they get a decent actor for voice acting and make a mutated combination of the two. I really wish they would stop it, it's probably a publicist move.
The goth girl was actually a scrapped design for the preppy girl from the sequel.
There's no way you genuinely think that goth girl design is fresh new or original
Jesus Christ and the Pussi Cats, why the frick did they turn that qt into the fricking abomination we see here?
The test animation was for the sequel, not the original Croods. This is what they replaced Cave Goth with.
Much better imo.
is that a big titty cavegirl goth gf
kino hairstyle
Christ. You weren't kidding.
Would Unga bunga
What fr? Man why is there so many instances where the concept art looks so much cooler than how it official looks baka
She may be ugly, but you cannot deny her current look is original amongst Cinemaphile babes.
I would have loved Ultron to look like any of these but Spader mouth is still memorable
i will be forever pissed that we were stuck with robo-rdj
>Man why is there so many instances where the concept art looks so much cooler than how it official looks
Not all the time...
It comes from some weird fixation on “readability” which prioritizes simple shapes and recognizable design patterns. Mostly I just feel like that’s an excuse to be lazy.
>It comes from some weird fixation on “readability” which prioritizes simple shapes and recognizable design patterns.
Those are pretty important factors when it comes to designing characters for animation, tbf
This was the problem of one of the producers. He was freaking out that they were just making another Flintstones. and demanded it be more REAL
>and demanded it be more REAL
The Croods? the movie with walking wales and flying piranhas?
Yep, that same movie was required to be REALLY REAL and not kiddy shit with sitcom cavemen.
>and not kiddy shit
Funnily enough, 'The Flintstones' (least early on) WAS adult animation for the standards of its time, actually.
>This was the problem of one of the producers. He was freaking out that they were just making another Flintstones. and demanded it be more REAL
I understand that complaint and why they changed the family to be more "modern" since they were supposed to be more evolved than the Croods, but I think the 50s sitcom vibe would've probably been funnier. At least the final design for the mom is hot too. I haven't seen either movie btw.
Wrong character.
what a qt
Built for rutting.
>we got disgusting hippies instead of cute stone age stepford wives
somebody drop a meteor on the earth already
Anyone has the James Baxter animatic?
wow, another shitty female character submissive morons worship
>all that projection
I just like her hair you fricking nerd
Generic and bland
Uglier but more distinct
Again, that's the wrong character.
is the original of pic related.
nina was better. literally chel but without loose attitue
>without loose attitude
You meant "worse" then
Mavis showing her midriff? Niiice
>Mavis looks like an absolute bawd
>Dracula looks like he still loves her unconditionally and ignores her fricking around the hotel
would have been kino
Snow White's mother was a beauty.
Holy shit is this real?
Absolute travesty
If this was the good timeline she would have been real
Damn shame. She’s really cute. Did they give her a name?
Her name was Mata
Don't go crazy, the Sweatbox made it abundantly clear that the plot for Kindgom of the Sun was a huge bloated mess with far too many elements to be cohesive. The only reason I regret not getting the film is because of Sting's Music which I think is the real reason people would've wanted to see Kingdom of the Sun. Snuff Out the Light, One Day She'll Love Me, Llamarama, and Why can't a human be a rock all sounded great but the reality is that even Sting's music wouldn't have saved the film's weird amalgamation of Prince and Pauper meets Assassination coup meets plot to destroy the sun meets complex love square.
IIRC, the plot for Kingdom of the Sun was literally just a re-telling of the Prince and the Pauper. Not sure how they could have messed that up, especially with the movie's planned score
> just a re-telling of the Prince and the Pauper
Where the Pauper is turned into a llama. And there’s an evil witch that wants to destroy the sun, and where the witch needs to be defeated. And at least two romance subplots.
The Prince and the Pauper was a base, but they kept shoving other elements into it that bogged it down, and they were still grappling with what to keep and what to cut right up until Emperor’s New Groove was released.
ah, yeah well considering all that, I guess it would have been quite the clusterfrick...
Seems like the movie's biggest problem the production
There's a whole documentary on that
The movie was like 40-50% done when it was retooled into Emperor's New Groove.
Is there animation of Mata?
I've seen one snippet.
>lip-bite
>buttcheeks
hope this Sandro guy got work after this
he continued working for Disney for many years. he's a pretty incredible artist. here's a pretty big trove of his art if you want to check him out.
https://characterdesignreferences.com/artist-of-the-week-10/sandro-cleuzo
Man, I like to imagine we got this movie in an alternate timeline, and it was great and ended up becoming a classic.
I guess we'll never know, what could have been
Shut up morons, the final Emperor's New Groove is one of the best Disney movies. It's excellent as is
true.
How would she have fit with the Prince and Pauper thing? Was she Owen Wilson Pacha's girl?
We could have gotten tomboy Arab waifu Abbi, with Howard Ashman's version Aladdin
is there concept art of her?
Sadly we can only imagine what a childhood friend reverse trap is like...
BEHOLD
I looked for any original concept art of her and while there doesn't seem to be a single image actually labelled as being her, I did find that Disney released a large amount of original concept drawings for Aladdin back in 2019 around the live action remake, including a lot of pieces that clearly date back to Ashman's original version. This is the only character I could find in all the concept pieces that might conceivably be Abbi. It doesn't specify if it actually is, mind you, and I couldn't find anywhere else on the internet connecting this sketch to Abbi, but it seems likely that this is her given what we know about her character.
Looks cute
Not sure why you would assume that's Abbi and not Jasmine's peasant disguise
I know Disney killed Blue Sky before they could make their own version of Gloria from Madagascar with their Anubis movie they were working on.
Would kill for a rear view. Whats her name?
Ammit, if Moon Knight didn't lead me too astray.
You're in luck.

>lump instead of pussylips
Rather i hadn't seen it now
It was for a kids movie, you autist
so what did this eventually become
Nothing.
I prefer this not-so bimbo look but her plainless wouldn't be as funny being with Roger.
Her personality was different though. She was a villain here.
>homely girl villain
based as frick then
https://www.imnotbad.com/2014/09/the-first-jessica-rabbit-animation-test.html
You call that homely?
Was Richard Williams already on board?
She would also have a shower scene.
>Mata
More like
>MATAME A SENTONES BEBESITA
amirite?
The most interesting thing about zootopia and they axed it.
Yeah, the original was a much more interesting angle but I suppose they wanted the focus to be mostly on Judy. Sad.
They switched to Judy because Nick's POV was too depressing to relate
To be fair that concept was pretty goddamn dark, and also fricked up when they described the potential jokes they were gonna use the collars for.
The already lingering concern of predators vs prey in the final movie worked fine.
Give us some more examples, because I felt Nick's flashback about how the explorers put a muzzel lacking impact and when I found out that these collars were going to be a part of the movie finally made sense and the impact would have been 10 times better, a bunch of kids, using a zapping collar on another kid, it sounds totally possible, kids are buttholes!
It would far more superior, a noir tale instead of yet another underdog story about character following his/her dreams
Amphibia originally had a fat girl character who turned out to be a human/frog hybrid with powers that was being bullied by the calamity trio in school and who kickstarted the plot by sending them to Amphibia instead of the Calamity Box
damn proto amphibia was fricking weird
WEED
Where is this from? I like the Calamity Box and everything with Marcy but there being a frog fugitive in LA would've been interesting. This also feels vaguely Toby Fox-ish.
>This also feels vaguely Toby Fox-ish.
tbf even regarding the meta stuff his work does have that 'interactive western cartoon' vibe going for it in terms of aspects like writing, presentation etc
interactive western cartoon vibe?
Yes. It's pretty reminiscent of the current cartoons in most respects, albeit in game format.
Oh okay I wasn't sure what you meant.
Yeah. Not saying this means it'll instantly translate to 'proper' cartoon form (majority of games don't imo, not even "cinematic" ones like Uncharted) though that's a whole other can of worms...
Anyways, picrel is definitely "never forget what they took from you" tier.
Final design for comparison
the people that have the final say in these designs are always such creatively bankrupt individuals
A frick ton better than the concept art. We got lucky.
No.
Good lord why
>"Some men just want to watch the world burn..."
Compare this all with that movie's final designs...
That face looks way too small. I can't decipher any of the expressions.
I blame my choosing that image with the shitty res over this one. Dunno what I was thinking.
Still better than the final designs, anyways...
This seems quite overambitious
oddly endearing concepts but god it would've been a much different show. i like geraldine. she reminds me of helga phugly.
Also possibly the original main antagonist of Amphibia
She's cute and all, but I doubt a buddy-buddy movie would've been improved by throwing in a sensible no-nonsense chick in all the scenes. The only cut out thing I know of that New Groove really would have improved it would've been Yzma's song, which I really would have loved if they could have snuck it in.
Do deleted Characters from deleted Movies count?
Carell's voice would have fit like a glove, but makes more sense with canon Groo's nose
Love this
It reminds of Dracula from Mina and the Count, which I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the main inspiration for this movie
I kind of wish disney would make some of their deleted films instead of the shit sequels or live knockoffs.
Just make a Kingdom of the Sun, or Evil Elsa Frozen, or the Wreck it Ralph where he runs away to that beach game.
>or the Wreck it Ralph where he runs away to that beach game.
explain
Finn's heroic dad from before the series got taken over by morons with daddy issues.
>The Lich deleted scene: Finn's father is revealed to be a heroic warrior unlawfully cast into a citadel of criminals, forced to forever fight the inmates
>actual dad: some deadbeat guy who plays people for fools to get their money
It could be a lie to trick Finn.
Only in retcon hindsight because the later writers made that shit up later on
WE WERE ROBBED
Does anyone have the concepts of Anastasia when it was a more grounded, realistic, non-musical movie?
>when it was more grounded and realistic
not quite, but I did find this, with plenty of early concepts and characters that didn't end up making the cut.
https://characterdesignreferences.com/art-of-animation-7/art-of-anastasia-part-1
it's filled with a metric frick ton of scrapped concepts, many that are even more ridiculous, a whole host of animal characters, bug characters, and many more monsters. I don't know where they were going with half of this but it's all extremely well-drawn, of course, and fun to look at. It's been quite a few years since I last saw Anastasia, but I don't recall anywhere near this many non-human characters being in it, even in passing. Maybe some of the monsters can be seen in Rasputin's lair or something? it's a good look-through, and some of the human character concepts might stretch as far back as the old script. A lot of the pieces are labeled as the "The Music Box", i'm not sure if this was actually intended to be the name of the movie at one time, or just a project name to remain secret while it was in development.
JRPG protagonist energy
Good lord, imagine the tomboy lewds we would have gotten.
More like, "what if he did more VG work?"
Along w/ that yeah.
JRPG Anastasia kills Lenin? Better than Atomic Farts.
Fund it
Imagine if Mark of Kri was a Disney film instead of a game
Looks more like an Earthworm Jim character
So, what was Harley's first concept for Batman?
looks like a b***h
why is Cinemaphile obsessed with b***h girls? why would you want this over pacha who is a likeable father and had better interactions with kuzco than she ever would?
Huaca was a talking talisman in Kingdom of the Sun. He started out as the advisor of Manco (Kuzco's original name). But he got sick of Manco and joined Yzma's schemes instead.
As the drafts for the movie changed, ultimately his character ended up cut while Kronk got the role of Yzma's sidekick.
Still, the movie did make a small reference to Huaca. He showed up as an inanimate statue right before the dinner scene where Yzma tries to poizon Kuzco.
>A sassy eye rolling straight man female sidekick
Yeah we're better off
Butch Hartman once posted this on his Twitter. They're early designs of Crocker from Fairly OddParents. As you can see from the bottom left one of Crocker's early designs is a female.
or maybe a daughter?
>Crocker
>Having a daughter
Ew.
But no, Butch said it's early Crocker designs.
weird considering that looks like a teenager and not a teacher or something like that
Yeah, considering how she looks it has to be his daughter.
That would have been a fun dynamic to explore
>hyperactive insane father who wants to capture Timmy’s fairies
>aloof, blasé and slightly cynical daughter who befriends his father’s enemy…she’s also the most normal and grounded person in the whole neighborhood
>a love triangle develops between her, him and Trixie
It wouldn’t have been worse than what we ended up with honestly.
Come to think of it, Chester and AJ were useless, Tootie was solely used as comic relief, and of course Wanda and Vicky got flanderized to the point they became unlikeable
>crocker was going to be a fujo
I'm not sure how to explain it, but I wish the show looked more like this.
I'll never not be mad we got Frozen instead of an actual Snow Queen adaptation
How the FRICK was she not posted?
How
Wow
WOAH what the hell is this? I only ever knew about the faux-jessica character from SLB lewds. Was this a pitch for a movie or something?
Seems like it, yeah.
Speaking of SLB, does anyone know if he has a full archive of his works? He's got stuff dating back almost 2 decades and I don't trust boorus.
Although I prefer Holli, Debbie looked really good
Debbie seems more appropriately sinister given what the original script had in mind
The song they cut from Lorax was amazing.
the original main characters from an early concept of Tangled, Vince, a pizza deliveryman, and Claire. they were to live in present-day San Francisco until they are magically transported to a medieval fantasy world where Rapunzel and her lover, Prince Beau, have been transformed into animals by an evil witch.
>. they were to live in present-day San Francisco until they are magically transported to a medieval fantasy world where Rapunzel and her lover, Prince Beau, have been transformed into animals by an evil witch.
