So people getting bored and checking out didn’t just happen in my viewing experience. It was a nation wide phenomenon that even killed some people. Grim
Watch pitch black and then chronicles. It's why Cinemaphile will always be a Vin board. Familia.
This anon is right. You should watch pitch black, which is a decent low budget sci fi movie from like 2000. It has nothing to do with Dune.
The sequel, Chronicles of Riddick, is an edgelord reskin of Dune which is impressive on several fronts- one being that it's such a massive leap from the original film, and two that it's so close to Dune's plot that it's arguably a closer adaptation than some of the actual adaptations.
Theres a prophecy about Riddick being the one to lead and rule. Riddick has visions of the past and future. He wants nothing to do with any of the conflict going on and initially rejects being involved. The necromongers, the bad guys of the film, are obvious harkonens. They don't use computers, they have living human "computers" and other weird technology. Judi dench is basically a discount reverend mother from a race of reverend mothers who pretend to not take sides and plan. There's a literal fricking liet kynes character who walks in two worlds, gives unexpected support and advice to Riddick, then walks out into a desert to die. It ends in a throne room with all major players assembled and the fate of the galaxy is determined by hand to hand combat with little knives. Shit is wild.
How up your own ass do you have to be to do any of this? How much further up your own ass do you have to be to publicly brag about this as if it doesn't obviously reflect terribly on your movie? I don't think hollywooders are actual people, they're something else.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The desert scene with the John Boyega jumpscare. The trailer also suffices.
Only works on people with a weak heart though.
>Dune 2 so bad it put a man to sleep then killed him
*croaks*
villeneuve is the first man to kill someone by boring them to death
I struggled to watch Dune 2. Everything about his cinematography screams "I'M A HACK I'M A HACK!!!"

>Euthanasia by kino
Canada is a sick country
It's just a shit version of Pitch Black. They are literally the same movie, just watch that instead
How? They both have a desert? What do you mean?
He means Chronicles of Riddick, which is so close to Dune I'm shocked they weren't sued by the Herbert estate.
Captcha: 2GAAY
Oh, okay. Haven't seen that. Is it similar thematically or just aesthetically?
Go watch it now, it's KINO

>Prophecy he is the true chosen king
>Visions of the past and future
>Evil woman
>Settled by a one on one duel
Not to shit on Dune but they didn't exactly come up the tale of the chosen one.
>the sleeper will never awaken...
underrated
>Literally watch part 1 just now with my gf
>they show the city of Arrakis or whatever the name is
>"Shat do they eat?"
The memes are real
Oh no a typo
I prefer to see poetry
Arrakis isn’t self-sustaining. What part is confusing?
She is kind of dumb unfortunately, so a lot of things
>Arrakis isn’t self-sustaining.
yes it is
>show someone your movie
>he falls asleep and dies
lol. lmao.
>fell asleep to his last movie
grim
>person spent their last moments watching a flick instead of being with their family
What a dystopic time to be alive.
Did he lose the will to live?
>Mama, just killed a man
>Put a TV near his bed, showed him kino, now he's dead
lel
He was sent to arrakis

imagine bragging about murdering someone
>It's for these people we make cinema
He makes movies for the terminally ill? Explains a lot.
safe and effective
holy shit isnt that murder
>movie so boring it kills you
what a fricking butthole.
>please, let me go and get my medicine
>wait, wait, this next part is really good
>this next part is really good
Well ... it wasn't.
Huh? Denis Villeneuve wants to KILL people??
I guess you could say he got DUNC'ED on!
lame. even for a carlosposter.
is this actually murder?
We don't know whether he wanted to kill that guy.
He most definitely wanted to torture him though.
>go out watching kino, good or bad
Feels like it's something this board should wish for when it comes to how they die.
Any kinos for killing men in surprising ways?

Thanks. Seems fun.
he also stole my deviantart work from high school
You've moaned about this in every fricking thread and you're wrong.
I'd be pretty upset if I had to die watching vilenuevslop.
>I'd be pretty upset if I had to die
You'd also probably be the only person upset with that
Proof?
Proof of the guy being dead?
Or of Villeneuve being at the scene of the crime?
He actually sent some producer.
Not even capable of doing the dirty work himself ...
It was an act of mercy - he made sure the terminally ill patient lost their will to live entirely.
If someone had showed him David Lynch's Dune instead, he'd still be alive today.
>pretend to be dying
>see movie early
>post spoilers online
>die and get away with it
What a shitty way to die
