Should have just killed Watto no one would have cared
Watto is clearly supposed to be a israelite and it was his fault it all went wrong - based Lucas telling it like it is
Stoic; ready to challenge authority to fight for what he believes in, isn’t a blind follower. Isn’t afraid to delve deeper into learning force, but never strays away from the Light.
Superfluous. Obi wan And Anakin should have appeared in episode 1 as the ages they were in 2. No need to see amakins childhood. Obi wan already described Yoda as his master anyway.
I thought he was prequel obiwan. You're telling me he's a completely different character?
Doug Chiang: "Initially, ObiWan was the master and on this mission alone, and then he takes on Anakin as his Padawan. One day George explained that Jedi work in pairs, like the Sith, so he changed it so that Obi Wan was a Padawan
with a master."
lain McCaig: "At one time the Jedi were going to be more like a UN peacekeeping force with a regimented costume, Obi-Wan's age changed all over the place - at one point he was substantially older, like a youngish 50 For a long time we had a character who was samurai like, with a ponytall and long sideburms, but as it evolved that character split into Ob-Wan and Qui-Gon. Now there was an older mentor, and it told us a lot more about who the Jedi were It wasn't like a peacekeeping force - was more like a temple, with an apprenticeship. When that happened, we revised the look. In the end, to make a strong connection between the Obi-Wan we know and the Obi-Wan in the prequels, we went back to the original costume design and said
"Let's let everyone wear those beautiful light brown robes." (May 13, 1997)
Adapting Luke's black outfit to be the standard Jedi clothing has always been a dumb idea, since the thematic point of that outfit was to toy with the idea that Luke was being tempted by the dark side.
That's what George made them you brainlet. Incel "I studied the blade" homosexuals except for all the Jedi who didn't give a frick about their incel rules and still had sex.
Very space elf. Not terrible, but it's hard to believe that there's no material in space that would make for light, but not entirely useless combat armor.
Until the middle of episode 2 it is repeated that the "jedi are not warriors" then just in time for Geonosis everyone seems to have a collective amnesia.
The reality I think lies in the fact that Lucas changed his mind when the concepts were still a very "exploratory" phase. Otherwise we would have had Jedi in uniform and armor.

maybe he shouldve split masters and knights into separate orders, I mean Obiwan says they are knights protecting the republic for thousands of years so its obvious he wanted them to be warriors and not hippies

Isn't the end of the Republic basically the jedi becoming lazy peacekeepers before needing to partake in the war?
Too much like a 90's comic book villain. I think if you're going to go for anything different, it should be more knight like. Look at those colourful medieval style tunics.
Exactly. Granted, Dooku still went on a path of destruction, but in his head, he was trying to do the right thing. He just became corrupt by the dark side over time.
Makes sense they gave Qui Gon a green saber then.
Green lightsabers used to signify a Master rank, whereas blue ones meant Jedi Knight.
But some masters decided to keep their blue lightsabers indefinitely.
I mean symbolically. If Qui Gon is what Anakin was supposed to become and Luke is what Anakin was supposed to be, it makes sense Luke's mastery would be represented by having a green saber. Maybe I'm digging too much.
A maverick but honorable Jedi Master who is not a sychophant to the will of the Council but to the Force itself. His death represents the loss of what could have been, which ultimately becomes a benchmark for measuring Kenobi's mentoring of Anakin and just how far Anakin fell.
Nonce. The only thing that was more disgusting was the other nonces on the Jedi council who told him Anakin's bussy was too old. Star wars dorks are unabashed pedos.
He's a rebel that is willing to break rules in order to achiev to what he precieves as correct. Cheating in gambling is hardly the jedi way, but it had to be done. He's also fairly spiritual, even for a jedi, as seen by him believing the prophecy 1st. He was also a good teacher
Describe him without using any adjectives, verbs, describing his career or appearance or mentioning anything I don't like. Also do it in less than 3 seconds and while standing upside down. GO!!!
>"I went up and down areas with a lightsaber, hoping I'd be approached by somebody - I'm ashamed to say that - and I did it for maybe a week, hoping some [uses air quotes with fingers] 'Gungan bastard' would come out of a cantina and have a go at me about something, you know? So that I could kill him."

How did Liam Neeson escape the controversy completely unscathed in 2019? Disney didn't drop him and he reprised his role as Qui Gon Jinn in Obi-wan Kenobi and he's going to be in another Star Wars series too.
Qui-Gon is a stoic, collected and focused. He is also kind yet and responsible, trying to help everyone without losing sight of his duty.
Those are common traits of Jedi. What differentiates Qui-Gon is a commitment to the Force that goes beyond the Jedi council and makes him question tradition to align his decisions to a higher sense of destiny for Anakin.
There you go, OP. If you had payed attention to the movie you could also describe what's on screen.
>Qui-Gon is a commitment to the Force that goes beyond the Jedi council
This is what makes him my favorite Jedi. The council were such npcs in comparison.
Luke is kind of the same by the end of RotS. It's why his academy was different.
he's a maverick. for some reason Lucas went really subtle with it and as a kid I didn't realize all the chimp shit he did >uses the force on boss nass to trick him into giving them a ship >tries it on watto for another free ship >cheats at dice using the force >brings a random teenager back to coruscant to train when he knows younglings are supposed to be like 3 when they start >gets told no >tells anakin "i'm not allowed to train you, so just follow me for the next 10 years and learn by watching"
they could've played up Anakin's recklessness in episode 2 by connecting it with Qui Gon's brief influence but instead we got "i hate sand"
So basically Qui-Gon had a rare blood disease but he figured out he could cure it by combining human DNA with the DNA of vampire bats. But then his best friend Milo turned into a vampire so Qui-Gon shouted "IT'S MORBING TIME" and became a vampire too and then all the bats were his friend.
>That's to be expected when you hire a variety of writers with ranging abilities.
Yeah my thoughts exactly. Many different people working on it from different perspectives for a long time.
Venerable. He was wise and very clever, as well as a great swordsman, often dueling with fellow Jedi Master Mace Windu, although the two of them never bested the other in their duels.
I think it's odd that Qui-Gonn's force ghost has nothing to say to Obi-Wan about Anakin. Not even a "sorry, I suppose I was wrong about that kid." There's no remorse for the hell that Obi-Wan has been put through by Qui-Gon's bad decisions. No, there is only a smile and a nod, as though this ordeal of genocide and child-murder and mutilation and immolation has been, in hindsight, just another of their silly adventures together.
Anakin was accepted by the Jedi Council due to Qui Gon's request.
He's the one who found him and believed he would bring balance to the force before anyone else did. But you're right, Anakin is Obi Wan's failure as a student. Not Qui Gon's. He has nothing to be sorry about.
Technically they could've talked about a whole bunch of shit after that initial encounter. Such a discussion just wouldn't have fit the series finale. If they do a season 2, or expand on this story via the EU, it will most likely be mentioned.
surly and wrong about pretty much everything in his one movie. he ignores the will of the force and warnings from everyone around him to have his way. and shock horror it all goes to shit and he dies.
just a complete fricking failure of a man. no wonder they wouldn't let him on the council.
Calm, in control, monk-like, professional and dedicated. Experienced, good teacher. The robe alone should give enough material for an actor to work with, and it did, and convey the message to the viewers. It's there you just haven't thought about it

Should have just killed Watto no one would have cared

Kek. Jedi were close to being edgelord space homosexuals completely devoid of soul before George set them straight.
kys, they were knights not tatooine farmers, lucas was moronic

that's your own stupid headcanon, and btw it looks nothing like it

He couldn't even save himself, Anon.
a wise sage who had unquestioning belief in the prophecy about Anakin and was willing to even sacrifice himself to carry it out
He's a Daoist
This. Qui Gon and Dooku's appeal is that they never really followed the Jedi or Sith way to a T.
they were true jedi and didnt believe there should be rules for following the force but understood the dangers of abusing the force
Exactly. Granted, Dooku still went on a path of destruction, but in his head, he was trying to do the right thing. He just became corrupt by the dark side over time.

What the Jedi should have been.
Basically. The irony that it's the wayward Jedi the one that actually transcended and became one with the Force.

A religious fanatic who ran roughshod over the lives of the little people. In the long run, the entire galaxy suffered because of his actions.

Literally nothng wrong with what he did. Shouldn't assault random white boys.
A jedi master with a green lightsaber named Qui-Gon Jinn. He has long hair a beard and a brown robe. He has a very nice voice and smells like oatmeal.
