Coffin exasperatedly says to Duck guy "What? That's supposed to be your name!"
To which Duck guy points to the tombstone and says "Then what's his name?", which means the tombstone is actually supposed to be David.
I wonder if there is actual lore or if the whole point is to be ambiguous so dont think about it? What I did notice is that with each reset, a different member of the 3 starts to realize it's a simulation/prison
It seems to me that it's mostly just a bunch of random stuff done because the showrunners wanted to have fun with a large TV budget. The story was purposely made minimal in case the show wasn't picked up for additional seasons, so that at least what was made is fun on its own.
It was a miracle the show ended up as great as it was. Very much being it's own thing but still have the core DNA of the origonal shorts.
Comparatively the origonal tv pitch/episodes sounded fricking awful.
Are they doing more of this?
I believe so
They are making a game now. No idea if it's a DHMIS one but there's been a vidya company made by them recent
Link at all?

David is the Yellow Guy right? Or the real boy the yellow guy is a recreation of?
David is the tombstone, silly. That's why it has David written across it.
No David is the coffin, it’s his name

Red Guy is the dog.
Electracey is the cutest character.
WHEN YOU MEET A BUSINESS MAN YOU MUST SHAKE HIM BY THE HAND.
WHEN YOU MEET A FAMILY MAN YOU MUST SHAKE HIM BY THE HAND
Red Guy is better.
