Resident Evil really didnt start jumping the shark until 4 and then it fully stopped being a horror game and went into action game outright at RE5. Resident Evil had poorly translated dialogue due to it being a japanese game (Jill Sandwhich/"I see the president equipped his daughter with Ballistics too") but for the most part it takes itself pretty seriously. theres no goofy bullshit outside of easter eggs like Chris with his sailor outfit.
In the show Billie controls Evelyn with a remote and explains that essentially she uses Evelyn to have power. Later when she us running to the helicopter Evelyn was left behind but the men still listen to Billie. Can you explain that part?
I watched the Anderson films over the last 2 days, the first 3.5 films are great, the fun times died after they left the prison, the rest was somewhat boring.

Have you actually seen Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection?
The opening scene of Resident Evil: Retribution features a clone of Alice slapping her husband's ass and calling him "Tiger". Also they have a deaf daughter because Anderson randomly decided Alice's (clone) daughter (clone) should be deaf and cast a deaf actress.
There's a lot of stuff in the TV show that Anderson wouldn't have done, but Anderson always enjoyed wild shifts in tone. He doesn't consider any of the tonal shifts in Event Horizon to be an issue. The fact they explain how the gravity engine works by poking a hole through a porno mag instead of something "respectable" is just part of the charm.
