DC animation will never top Timm's DCAU. That was the zenith in terms of writing, heart, animation, you name it.
Timm didn't do shit. Paul Dini and Dwayne did the best of the best. Timm by himself is Harley Quinn and Batman level of quality.
Televised animation in the 90s and the 00s had the best budgets.

It's economic character design that results in the most consistent animation. The new Superman show is a 6-8 fps slideshow so it doesn't matter.

The reason why DCAU was great wasn't just Timm or just Dini or just McDuffie, but all of them together along with the other writers, producers, directors, and cast.
Arkham City was all right given the context of it being a video game, but The Adventures Continue was hot garbage.

Brave and the Bold is the best adaptation of DC as a whole. it juggles a lot of characters, many of them obscure, and while it doesn't spend too much time with any of them, nobody feels like they're getting a raw deal,
the only major issue with the show is batman himself, who is wanked out the ass. but that's also an accurate representation of DC.

Yes but not because of character designs, because TV animation was able to outsource to Japanese studios for cheap post-bubble while they still had all their bubble-era talent and work ethic.
WB Animation shows used Korean studios more than Japanese who were still pretty pricey by comparison. But action cartoons were subsidized by action figure sales, and that's just not what it used to be.
I'm still down to plow Livewire. She is butch enough for me.
