Did he know?

Maybe he did, maybe he didn't.
But if he didn't–why did he order her the glass of milk?

Of course he knew. It's why he let her live, so she could host the film and probably kill all of the guests which he wanted.

I never thought of this way, if he really predicted her scheme just to get out of the war alive then he is a 200iq legend.

there's this moronic reddit theory where he forced her to eat cream because "there was dairy rationing in ww2 so they used pork lard instead of cream" and he, being extra nazi evil, knew her judaism would hate it

There's no way he could have realistically predicted the specifics of shosanna's revenge plan so to let her off the hook would be too risky. For all he knew she could have fricked up right away, get found out, and with the cancellation of the event he would be in no position to accomplish his goal. That or her plan could have fricked him up, like something that would have trapped him in the building along with everyone else or if she simply wanted to shoot him being that he's the one who killed her family.

    It makes no sense.

Hang on. HANG THE FRICK ON

    I just realized

Isn't Landa sort of just saving face by letting Omar and Donnie blow up the theatre as planned?
Like, yes he may have just been acting opportunistically having noticed the war effort was failing.

    BUT

He was fricking head of security for this event and managed to let three guys in with fricking EXPLOSIVES around their ankles. As noted during Landa's meeting with Aldo and Utivich, if they were to attempt escorting Omar and Donnie out of the theatre, it's all but guaranteed the explosives would have gone off, killing many (while probably leaving Hitler, Goebbels, Gohring and Borman alive)
This would have landed Landa's ass in a lot of hot water. Hell, he might even have been killed.

So letting the plot go forward, killing all his bosses is pretty much the ultimate "saving my ass" move. What a fricking slimey little rat holy frick

he was fricking with them the moment they stepped into the theater, he could have booted them out whenever he wanted. letting them in was a conscious effort.
