>Amblimation was the UK-based short-lived animation production arm of Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment that was active from 1989 until about 1996. Stationed in London and comprised largely of the animation staff from Who Framed Roger Rabbit, it was Spielberg's attempt to continue producing animated features after parting ways with Don Bluth (Spielberg was an executive producer on An American Tail and The Land Before Time).
Despite their lavish hand-drawn animation, none of Amblimation's three films (Fievel Goes West, We're Back! and Balto) were critically or commercially successful and the studio closed in 1996. Afterwards, most of the staff migrated to DreamWorks Animation (Spielberg was one of its founders), which has since seen far greater success (they started making both 2D and CGI movies, but quickly became a CGI movie only studio)
I just remember his best friend being such a cuck. First he puts his life on the line and almost gets killed for his dead-beat friend, then he happily lets him steal his girl at the end of the movie.
The 3D is just really fricking off-putting. The only time I like it is on the monsters, but the environmental 3D is so bad. The siren clip is a great example of the 3D being really cool and really shitty at the same time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olrSpHlLY7I
The story is okay. The conflict with Eris is great because it feels like her plan is actually very well-thought out. but everything surrounding it is just meh. Also, Sinbad getting Marina made the movie infinitely worse. It just proved Eris right.
Never saw it, mainly because the brilliant minds at Dreamworks barely promoted the damn thing. Also fun fact this is technically the movie that killed 2D feature animation in the west and you all have Jeffrey Katzenberg to thank
Why is it that shit like King Arthur, Robin Hood, Sinbad, Conan, and other sword and sorcery shit seems to have gotten close to zero animated content since the 90s?
Yes, this movie was garbage. It has a poorly written story and awkward cgi. It has a hot villain and that's about it.
>t. Sharktalegay
this
the jokes felt like they were written by AI, but it was too early for that so it must have just been boring people with no sense of humor
Ok whatever makes you happy STAN
>awkward cgi
they should have drawn it by hand.
This movie was my sexual awakening. First time I realized I was horny.
Other than that idk
Who's bad? Sinbad!
It was an improvement over Spirit, i guess.
That 2D animation campus at Glendale peaked with their first movie.
A lot of the people from that DreamWorks 2D campus came from the studio behind these 3 movies (it was called Amblimation)
Amazing hhe whole furry spectrum right there
What?
Christ what a crappy filmography
I can at least appreciate the animation, but Christ Spielberg
>animation has been monopolized by men
These types have always been moronic.

The original American Tail was made by the Don Bluth studio. Fievel Goes West was made by Amblimation. Totally different studios.

It was pretty entertaining, and more enjoyable than Prince of Egypt, altought I prefer The Road to El Dorado more.
>more enjoyable than Prince of Egypt
INSANE take
El Dorado is definitely different than POE, Spirit and Sinbad.

It’s better than Sinbad and I even like it a little bit more than Prince of Egypt mainly because of the comedic writing

No! You’re raping Spider-Man you fricking fascist! You leave that American icon alone

Probably because it's all consistently flopped? Current gen doesn't relate to doomed armoured/barbarian man, it relates to Lobotomy Kaisen.
Ya know, I used to think
"Haha, Skinner thinks the children are at fault"
But no, frick the children's shit taste. They need to do better.
Yes, the movie is boring for kids and lame for adults
No but solely because Eris is my waifu to this very day.
