No one has actually read it so no. If it did we wouldn't get stories like What's so funny about Truth and Justice.

What does superman vs the elite have to do with kingdom come

They are stories that largely have the same basic premise of the old guard dealing with younger and more edgy superheroes that represent modern day comics. However the difference is that Truth and Justice is a comic made out of feeling threatened over new comics and feels the need to bring younger supes down a peg. Kingdom Come understands that neither side represents the perfect hero. That the old guard could easily fall into fascist territories through their black and white good vs evil beliefs.

If by “elevate” you mean roll around in its own filth of tired recycled generic capeshit stories and present that same pooped-out recycled shit in a golden paint of Alex Ross’ art

It was a shill campaign against DC's biggest competition - Image. It's barely a fricking comic at all.

It's not as good as the other big cape series like Watchmen or The Dark Knight Returns, no.

    >Supaman go away, people do crime and be mean, everything bad 🙁
    >Supaman come back, saves guys and tells them to be nice, everthing good 🙂
Wow what deep thought-provoking literature for adults. Surely this incredibly vapid unspecial mass produced story has elevated all of capeshit to the level of real books

It's amazing how comic execs really thought edgy shit would kill the industry only for them to embrace the true cancer of BLM troony worship 20 years later

To be fair, though it started as a comment on what comics were turning into, it's more relevant now than ever. Cynicism and nihilism are more the norm than hopeful optimism.

Come off it. Have you fricking read a single comic since Rebirth? They’re all stakeless safe forced “wholesome” shit like Superman and Batman and Wonder Woman eating burgers and getting their nails done, and it’s awful

        That's called 'cynicism', anon.

Nah, it’s painting the entire world as a big sunshiney multiverse safespace because they fell for a bunch of losers whining about how everything is too “edgy” for having real stakes.

It's hollow and doesn't have the weight of its creators own belief = cynicism, anon.

that sure isn't current batman which is layers upon layers of stupidity

It sure is current batman. Can’t go 1 second without the entire batfamily in shot, has to give entire speeches how much he loves them and calls them ‘son’ and ‘daughter’ to their faces when before he made clear to all of them none are his family. Every story is about the multiverse and robots since serial killers and dead families in ditches are too gross.

Just because it has conflict (read: stupid “emotional conflict” like Dick throwing a fit because Batman used scifi brainwashing on jason) doesn’t give it edge.

Kingdom Come sucks. Alex Ross' art elevates it to the extent of fooling people into thinking it's good.

It IS good, Zoomer. Sorry you missed out on the 90s. Enjoy your perverted manga trash.

No but I thought it was petty good. Still kinda annoyed that Injustice stole a good chunk of it's story from it.

Reminder that hack fraud manbaby Mark Waid barely had anything to do with the actual story.
