Did Martin got cucked by Minerva?

Did Martin got cucked by Minerva?
He's bald as a b***h while Finn never norwooded and kept his hair into the 100s or however long he lived for and in all the potential universes.

Kind of explains how they got nothing in common and why he abandoned him even when finally reunited, he probably knew deep down she was cheating on him or getting dicked by the entire founder island behind his back.

Certain types of baldness are matrilineal

Yes but if your dad is bald, you are going to be bald, no exceptions

That's the opposite of what matrilineal means. My dad has a full head of hair, but his dad is bald. Baldness is typically inherited from your mother's side of the family.

Why is every Dad in this show abusive or shitty?

Not every dad, Joshua for all his quirks still raised Finn and Jake to be heroes, and Jermaine to be a responsible adult. Simon was a good father figure for Marcy as well even if they weren't related.

    >Kind of explains how they got nothing in commo
Not true, they both have adventurous spirits which Minerva strongly lacked. Finn however inherited her desire to help others which is he he is a hero and Martin is a scoundrel.
Also as the other anon points out the baldness is probably matrilineal meaning old man Finn's hairline is probably similar to Minerva's father.

it's commonly believed that baldness is passed down through the mother so you're kind of a moron

it's a commonly perpetuated misconception by morons like you

it doesn't matter if it's a misconception or not because this is a work of fiction
and it's not entirely untrue since a lot of your genes related to baldness does actually come from your mother

Did they ever explain how he went from a caring dad in the flashbacks to being neglectful and indifferent towards his son. That always felt like a loose thread to me.

His intro on Islands had him scamming people trying to escape; Martin was always scummy, and while he turned it around for Minerva and Finn he still spent far more time separated from them than together, so he just went back to his naturally selfish self during that time. Knowing that, it's more likely he'd be a dick to Finn who he last saw as a baby more than a decade and however many scummy adventures in between ago.

He got injured fighting the Guardian. By the time he recovered he assumed Finn was dead and could not face Minerva so he just left to do his own thing and not face any of his problems

There’s some promo art where he has a head wound. Amnesia

I think it was confirmed that he never had amnesia or brain damage. He just got traumatized

On top of the head injury, this is also just a common pattern for abusive people. They all just adore babies because they're basically dolls you can project all their personal thoughts and feelings on (and offload all the actual work of taking care of them on someone else). It's when they get older and start having their own thoughts, behaviors, and values that the break happens.

Martin loved Baby Finn because he thought of him as Martin 2.0. Once FInn was his own person, the true colors showed.

Baldness is a sex-influenced trait. That is, the gene that causes it is a dominant in males and recessive in females. Most people have 23 pairs of chromosomes, so with the exception of genes on the X and Y chromosomes, humans have two copies of each gene.

The gene that causes baldness is dominant in men, which means that a man only needs a single copy to eventually experience male pattern baldness. In a woman, the same gene is recessive, which means she'd need two copies of the baldness gene.

So it would be possible for Martin to have one copy of the gene that causes baldness, and one copy of the non-balding version of the gene. Since Martin is male, the baldness gene is dominant, so the baldness trait is expressed.

A child receives one copy of each gene from each parent, since each parent donates one set of chromosomes. So it's possible Finn received the non-balding version of the gene from Martin, and another copy of the non-balding gene from his mother, Minerva.

Of course, this is also a damn cartoon with magic and other horseshit, so whatever. Who the frick knows.

Finn wears a hat, that protects his hair from the sun. My great great grandpa lived to be 99 and had a full head of black hair wore a sombrero everyday and rolled his own cigarettes.
