As far as I remember he got blasted in some radioactive explosion and his powers got fricked but his spider-sense went overdrive
that was 6 months ago
Lmfao
>Blasted with radiation
>Didn't die a painful death as his DNA slowly broke down and organs liquified
Isn't it a consistent thing that what gives Peter his powers is his DNA that was altered by the spider bite? It's already been fricked with and he's fine.
Yeah he has resistance to most kinds of radiation.
>"Is he strong? Listen bud, he's got radioactive blood"
Somebody simply failed to google the tensile strength of titanium is all.
people at Marvel have the idea that Spiderman must be in a permanent state of suffering because that's what makes him popular and relatable.
there is also this rumor that the actual writer and editor hate him and are looking to replace him with Miles and that's why they want to destroy the character.
Whitey gotta pay
Bendis? He wants o be honary black.
He also had free control and used it for petty revenge.Never followed main continuity or events.
Turned Iceman gay just because he kissed his waifu
Yup. Bendis, he's the writer.
LOL. "They wanna replace him with miles" The guy who currently isnt even on 616 but yeah they totally want him to be the main spider-man
>The guy who currently isnt even on 616
Where the frick have you been?
Bud he's literally in a alt dimension rn and has been for months. Sure he's coming back to 616(in a couple months) but he's hardly being pushed as the main Spider-man in the comics.
>there is also this rumor
Did it start on /misc/?
I want this rumor to be true just so I can watch Marvel tank harder than the star wars brand. Stock holders would order an assassination contract to before that happen.
Leak asm you goddamn homosexual
He did just get the shit beaten out of him by Tombstone in a booby-trapped truck beforehand.
>Why can’t Spider-man just break out and best the baddies and have no troubles?
Because stories need tension
but then why he doesn't win in the end?
It's a win cuz the story is trying to take a realistic approach to the fact that a superhero can't really do shit against crime, knock Tombstone down a bigger war would start, so he has to come at it from a different angle by hitting Tombstone in a way that hurts his operations for real
he can expose him easily. Wells is just a manchild who want to see spider-man suffer
>he can expose him easily.
And then what?
Cool, then what? Tombstone will just walk out of jail like always. Instead, he hurts his operations and more importantly his money. Not every win has to be physical
not for another 10 years
>knock Tombstone down a bigger war would start
>don't stop crime because crime might follow
No. That's exactly the opposite of what Peter learned in his origin story. Stop crime all the time.
I feel like it's trying to be more practical than no one dies Slott, with great power and all that don't mean be reckless and angry which is what he was at the story's start.
You stop it by hurting his operation and keeping him in check. Which is what peter did.
Because the story isn’t over.
seriously at this point is people even buying this shit?
stories also need this little thing called "Catharsis"
will the story ever be over?
I thought the ending for the first arc offered some of the best Spidey catharsis we've seen in ages (ending to Slott was depressing with Flash "dying," Kindred was shit trying to act like it was a big happy moment love for MJ triumphs when they blatantly wouldn't commit to it for real after all the setup, Beyond's ending was just a downer after Peter returns just to lose his bro).
He doesn't punch the hardest here, though he did a good job on the goons in the prior issue, but he shines through with his compassion and wits. Spidey ain't always about lifting the heavy shit or punchin dudes, we like Spidey cause he's human and he's got a good heart even after all the beatdowns
I wasn't sure if I was gonna like the first arc at the start but it won me over by the end with that statement, however it goes from here idk, heard Sal from comicpop say 900 is trash
>I thought the ending for the first arc offered some of the best Spidey catharsis we've seen in ages
that says more about the absolute shit state of spidey comics than the arc itself.
>catharsis
That’s not catharsis, that was a damp squib because wells was trying way too hard to prove he’s a clever little frick and got caught up in trying to be writerly and shit. It’s pretentious wankery resulting in spider-man letting a mass murderer walk completely free, the opposite of the supposed lesson he learned in AF 15. Spider-Man isn’t the justice system, if Tombstone gets out of jail that’s on the lawyers and judges. But he does ensure villains come to the attention of the justice system or at least he should but Wells is a tryhard fail
>we like Spidey cause he's human and he's got a good heart even after all the beatdowns
I guess you missed the part where he sold his unborn daughter to Mephisto in order to resurrect his ancient aunt (who begged him to let her die).
The two Kindred's should have been Harry and Mayday.
>will the story ever be over?
Congratulations on stumbling over the inherent problem of capeshit.
Yes, once this arc is over. Dumbass.
There will be a new story with new stakes, and the conflict will build new tension. That is how fiction works.
It’s not a problem same way James Bond never having an ending is not a problem. If you want THE END NO MORE STORY EVER, then you are looking for it at the wrong place. Capeshit is serialized media, it isn’t meant to have final closure and no continuation. It’s like demanding TV soap operas to end.
>It’s not a problem same way James Bond never having an ending is not a problem.
Does James Bond reuse villains as often or does he actually get to kill his bad guys?
Blofeld, SPECTRE, etc. have been used multiple times as villains, yes.
>Cape comics
>Tension
Really? When this Tombstone thing is over, spider comics will go back to be as if it never happened, where's the tension in that?
why couldn't it just be actual adamantium?
Because why would it be? Spider-man got his ass beat bad before waking up and he’s held in an awkward position he can’t get that much leverage. It’s pure muh power levels nitpicking to complain that it has to be magic and rare indestructible metal or it doesn’t make sense.
who come female heroes never fail and always easily beat up male characters and never need help from white men yet white male protagonist have to fail and get rescued/beaten up by woman every issue?
And we don't like those stories for that reason,.
And those comics get cancelled within two months due to poor sales. Outside of black cat but people liked her again after she stopped being the queenpin
Wells can't write well
if you had to ask a materials engineer what the best material to make restraints out of, they would probably just say steel
its both cheap and strong
either that or some fancy-sounding nanomaterial like graphene
but steel, as effective at is, simply sounds too mundane to restrain someone like spider-man
and graphene would be outside the realm of street-level villains, it is way beyond our current ability to manufacture practically
so that leaves titanium
it isnt much stronger than steel unless weight is a concern, but it certainly sounds exotic enough that readers wont question it being able to do anything the plot demands
Spidey was also fricked up by Tombstone's trap. Dude is durable but doesn't have a great healing fator.
>doesn't have a great healing factor.
Well he's note Wolverine or Deadpool. but he recovers from shit in a few days that would put people out for months. He definitely has an enhanced superhuman healing factor.
someone on CBR has an advanced copy of 900 and said it was very mid. Good fighting, but issues with the plot and characters. Won't give any more info on it tho. Someone else said it suffered art-wise as well with too many cooks.
>cbr again
Is it better than this place?
about as autistic, only they're more polite since, you know. But there aren't that many places for up-to-date comic info unless you want to shift through the garbage on twitter
do they leak stuff? As in pictures, not just by words
I've noticed if they have a leak first, they'll PM them amongst themselves. If for instance we get something first, then they'll just post the link to the thread or whatever. Keep in mind, Slott and other actually use the place so they don't want to get fricked by some industry person coming in and whining about the leaks, so they don't post them openly.
I see. Weirdly posts here mirror posts there, hmmm
The CBRs are invading.
>Someone else said it suffered art-wise as well with too many cooks.
I mean, it’s a #900 issue. So of course it’s going to have multiple artists to deal with the bigger page count.
VS debate battle board gays on permanent suicide watch after seeing the inconsistent feats that have always been everywhere in comics.
One minute he picks up a building, the next he's perforated by 9mm.
Spider-man could fist fight Thanos and win but job to electro later on god I hate comics
Fist fighting doesn't mean he'd win, dummy
Thus begins the endless string of cope from people who know nothing about fighting or practical physics writing fifty page essays about how "actually that time spiderman was hospitalized by a car crash the car was an atomic FTL hypercar from the year three thousand and also spiderman was holding back".
Just accept it's all bullshit, there's no feat consistency and there never has been,
It is bullshit, that's why I see no point in complaining about it.
Fair enough I'm not
this guy I'm the one he responded to
not canon I guess
His powers have always been extremely variable. This guy will tussle with the Hulk one issue and get beaten up by a fat man with no superpowers the next. Been that way with the 60's, I'd almost be disappointed (not actually though) if they became consistant now.
>. This guy will tussle with the Hulk one issue
spider-man has never been depicted as doing more than slow the hulk down
wrong
Considering the Hulk has been portrayed as nuclear, planetary, or "infinite" in power (comic power levels are moronic" that's like a single molecule of water slowing you down.
you morons post leaks
There you go. Cuffs like that would be stronger than tiny cube, probably.
Writers have no sense of scale
And Goku gets hurt by regular bullets these days. If you haven't realized capeshit is inconsistent by now there's not much hope.
>Or did I miss something
Peter Parker is a white, straight man.
Marvel went fully leftwing woke around 2014.
This means that white male heroes are no longer allowed to be cool and heroic and instead have to be emasculated and humiliated every week to make sjw female and black characters look good in comparison.
/co/mblr will seething but everyone with a brain knows that this is the reason.
same reason why every white male hero is treated the exact same way yet female heroes literally never get treated even half as insulting.
Yeah because it's not like Otto Stopped Misty and Collen with 0 diff. They totally beat him! Oh wait...
>intentionally omitted three times ben reilly lost to them and also praised them saying how amazing they are.
>intentionally omitted the remarkes they give to doctor octopus
Marvel hates white men admit it
When did he lose in earnst or come even close to losing to them lol? His handler in one of his traning sessions says he was distracted and your acting like Ben was fighting them with his all
While Spidey has a good few dice between his Strength and Mega Strength attributes, he failed to roll 7 or higher on any of them. That's a botch, no two ways about it. It's tough when the Parker Luck can sometimes make playing your hero impossible, but he deserves it for building a dodge tank.
It's a comic book.
If you buy a comic and expect consistent powers you basically entered the lottery.
Another reason shonen is superior for storytelling. Usually one writer telling one story, with a plot that moves forward and characters that change and grow.
Not decades of changing writers stepping on each other's toes while bending over backwards to maintain a boring status quo.
Shonen manga is just as nonchalant about "power levels." It doesn't matter.
Thats more them constantly scaling up though until they're fighting over the fate of six multiverses or something.
Meanwhile comic power levels can swing from "Flash is so fast he hits a light switch then gets bored waiting for the light to reach his eyeballs, and has reaction time so fast he can dodge bullets he doesn't even know about after they've already touched his skin" to "lol he ran into a sword because Deathstroke knew he'd go behind him, also Catwoman took three Flashes out at the same time."
Peter Parker is a straight white male and thus not allowed to be cool or competent or strong.
Only Mike’s Morales is allowed.
As according to Nick Lowe’s mandate.
Mile series just got cancelled
are you gonna back it up with the source?
https://mobile.twitter.com/saladinahmed/status/1551952400063283201
you just had to be lazy and gave me hope
That explains why it didn't appear in the October solicitations. Seeing how adamant they are on keeping Miles around, I'm surprised they aren't immediately continuing/relaunching his series with a new creative team. Are they doing the same thing they did with Ahmed's run and waiting to launch it alongside the next Spider-Verse film?
>That explains why it didn't appear in the October solicitations
because it was announced earlier.

Miles Morales’ iconic 42nd issue! Miles Morales has been through it lately — time for a little R&R now, right? Not when there’s good that needs doing, and when something dark and insidious rears its ugly head on the streets of NYC, Spider-Man is the only hope to end it. But Miles will need help, from his friends, his family and the most unexpected allies, if he dares to even stand a chance this time!
>that cover
>The Lovers
>no Spider-Gwen
further proof that pairing only lives in the heads of Bendis and coomerbrain artists
They’re very particular about miles relaunches, they still consider him to be on volume one but in reality he should be on the 5th volume or something like that
Ahmed leaves the book, wait for the new team to be announced soon since MILES MORALES IS HERE TO STAY. damnit
>Miles Morales is here to stay. You guys are gonna be thrilled to see where he goes next. And for my part, it's been an honor and a privelge doing my little bit to help him get where he is today.
what the frick just what the frick
he's always inconsistent and every once in a while a spidey writer pretends he's hulk tier when upset
