The majority of the show is very nearly as vacuous but there’s the distinct grimy stain of human conceit
No, the insufferable dialogue and time wasting of such magnitude was surely accomplished by genuine human frickwits
I have ignored most of the “controversial” shows to come out in the last few years but this one suckered me in with promises of monke and holy shit was it bad
Take every meme about the recent MCU being quipfests that undermine every serious moment with jokes and apply it unironically. They NEVER. FRICKING. STOP. QUIPPING
And in large part due to the aforementioned, the characters are fricking abysmal, not to mention shallow as puddles. One of the leads is supposed to be an all but feral child but she speaks perfectly formed English, knows about various technologies, etc. and her background only exists for drama and so that she can deadpan snark "I don't know what that means" to arbitrary words
Everything that happens is down entirely to moronic miscommunications forcing plot to happen and as a result almost nothing fricking happens in the whole runtime
So, all of that is bad enough on its own and is responsible for the lion's share of aggravation, but the absolutely unforgiveable sin is that Kong himself all but doesn't exist outside of 2 episodes. The LAST episodes. Focus is completely hogged by the awful annoying boring pointless human characters
Also aside from the "final boss" the monster and creature designs for Skull Island are just so lackluster
With all of that said, I do personally hold that a person ought to form their own opinions. By and large the show is quite worthless in my view but if you do check it out, I'd be happy to hear what you think
Take the usual Kaiju media complaints that humans take up too much screentime but also the humans are not merely boring like Goji 2014, they’re actively infuriating
The show for most of the runtime is legitimately sarcastic back and forths and quippy comments on what just happened. The tone is fricked because of it
And it’s boooooring. Really it’s made worse because right before the end there’s an honestly decent episode and it’s good BECAUSE it drops the moronic cast entirely and focuses purely on Kong and other unrelated characters
SOMEBODY knew how to make a pretty decent Kong dynamic and yet they made the show NOT about that
Nothing really but OP is entrenched in Cinemaphile bullshit that they simply don't know how to start a discussion about the show without hyperbolic vitriol.
The irony of course being that trying to criticize a show for being genericnand soulless is such a common shitpost here on Cinemaphile that you can only call it generic.

I am usually into adventure shit and cartoons for teens and such but the trailer looked so soulless I cannot even explain what it is that I hate but I hate it.
Stiff maybe? The colors are flat, there are no proper dialogues and while there seems to be a lot of animation it all looks lifeless. I fully expect this to be another Netflix "anime" cartoon so I didn't look into it.
Also wild gorillas aren't an interesting enemy especially if they look like this. Compare that with Primal s1 and how different that was. THIS is how you depict wild beasts.
Kong was a brute who cared only for himself and his blonde toy (and it had to be HIS blonde toy as any other blonde for him was just a doll to be crushed or thrown away). It's cool that they didn't remake the same one story that Kong movies always have but this new Kong is different. Maybe they're trying to give him some new motivation in between making him strike cool poses or looking sad. I just miss my lizard king, his furry moth and the volcanic chicken and their characters. I hope they don't forget about them and their characters to give every more positive or more well-defined trait to Kong because Kong needs something to motivate him and now that the surface monsters and subterranean monsters are allies what realy makes them different anymore?
This is the most generic looking show I've ever seen.

Out of morbid curiosity, what was bad about it?

Primal sucked
Nah, it was the only cartoon from the last years I enjoyed. Or at least the only one that wasn't cancelled.
lmao they just stand still and take it
Seems like such a weird property for everyone to have bishounen eyelashes
Well Kong isn't as interesting as other monsters.
He’s the one somewhat good part, when they give him the time of day
