Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world where none suffered, where everyone would be happy?

Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world where none suffered, where everyone would be happy? It was a disaster. No one would accept the program. Entire crops were lost. Some believed that we lacked the programming language to describe your "perfect world". But I believe that, as a species, human beings define their reality through misery and suffering. So the perfect world was a dream that your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from.

literally existing as an entity separate from everything else logically requires suffering because it means limitation, to exist you literally need to be circumscribed physically and mentally in order to distinguish yourself from everything else

        Low IQ take

you have never experience torture and levels of pain beyond your imagining. If you are exposed to that, you won't get a super powe that lets you be happier, you may even have a nice day by having a very negative outlook on life, after you experience pain greater than you can handle

stop being a homosexual with shitty philosophy trying to validate the whole "nature is god", as if life is the way it is because it has some meaning

you really write this reddit drivel and call other people low IQ lmao. and you’re attempting an argument absurdum instead of refuting the completely true claim he made. there needs to be a distinction of states which necessities at least the ability to imagine alternate ones. not only would people not be able to survive without the ability to understand the concept of pain (and not the extreme moronic example you give, which is born of our ability to imagine and extrapolate from smaller amounts of pain and avoid unfavourable outcomes for ourselves) but they would not be able to mentally distinguish pleasure from pain. you literally have to be born with a clear and distinct concept of pain. anon isn’t making a “just world” argument, because again, the religious people you’re strawmanning don’t argue this either. it’s literally just stating a psychological prerequisite to the concept of existing in any meaningful terms in the first place

          Anonymous

pointing out that you haven't experienced even an infinitesimal fraction of the amount of suffering the human animal is capable of experiencing is not "argument absurdum." its sating the fact that you probably have felt the highest levels of elation possible as a human being, and its absolutely nothing compared to what you're calling its opposite. suffering more doesn't create more joy.

and you’re a moron who has missed the entire point of the post kek. it’s not that pain is necessary for happiness, it’s necessary for existing in any sort of way conceivable to us. it’s a prerequisite for consciousness and reason. you wouldn’t be a human being without the ability to distinguish pain and pleasure or extrapolate future events and make choices based on them, you wouldn’t even be able to draw distinctions between your own mental states.

                Now look up moving goalposts.

the long and short is your nonsense is entirely a rationalization of the amount of "pain" and "suffering" you've experienced. You tell yourself it had a meaning, a purpose, that it made you a better person, etc. This is just a comforting lie you tell yourself to cope with all the pointless shit that happened in your life.

                Anonymous

And again back to not understanding the point at all. I’ll try to make it even more blatantly clear. Imagine someone born insensate to pain. What is the initial, biggest pain they experience? Fear of death. Is fear of death not painful? It’s possibly the biggest pain we face, yet it’s psychologically necessary to exist. To know you are a being, and a being distinguished from the environment around you. Immediately you experience that pain of limitation, of not being able to do anything you will, of effort to bring abut changes of state as a limited, individuated object navigating other ones. You are also aware that being separate, and being aware of alternating mental and physical states, you can cease to be, and a large degree of your behaviour is centred around this realisation. Without that basic pain, you would have no way to distinguish different physical and mental states, ability to reason, project forward, make choices, or even be aware of yourself as a separate entity to shit around you. I’m not making an argument about pain “mattering” on a metaphysical level.

                >get told that all you're doing is rationalizing your experiences as being meaningful
                >rationalize harder

every big "maturation" moment in a person's life comes when they realize to not be afraid of something, be it the pain, the rejection, or even just the disappointment.

Yes, I'm posting logical, coherent thoughts, in response to your rambling stream of consciousness. this isn't really a debate or even discussion as much as its two people talking on completely different levels, in something that resembles proximity.

at best, your arguments are post-hoc. suffering is necessary for consciousness because i suffered, and am conscious, etc.

kek you think you can trust what "most people say"? Even if they got beamed up to heaven, it'd only be a matter of time before "most people" decided to start acting up, breaking some rules, seeing what trouble they could get into since they're bored. Unironically a biblical analogy which should surprise no one given that they went full Jesus in the third one. God created Eden, a perfect world for man to dwell in and be perfectly content but man (or more specifically, Eve) wasn't satisfied with literal perfection and so lost paradise forever and has to dwell in the shithole we call the mortal world

I suppose that’s one way of describing it.
          > By 1882, Nietzsche was taking huge doses of opium, but he was still having trouble sleeping.[59] In 1883, while staying in Nice, he was writing out his own prescriptions for the sedative chloral hydrate, signing them "Dr. Nietzsche".[60]

He turned away from the influence of Schopenhauer, and after he severed his social ties with Wagner, Nietzsche had few remaining friends. Now, with the new style of Zarathustra, his work became even more alienating, and the market received it only to the degree required by politeness. Nietzsche recognised this and maintained his solitude, though he often complained. His books remained largely unsold. In 1885, he printed only 40 copies of the fourth part of Zarathustra and distributed a fraction of them among close friends, including Helene von Druskowitz.

Call me a peace loving environmentalist hippy, the world can be all kinds of things but it really doesn’t want to be boring.

I’m just not into the whole “Israel ruins the world” plot-line. Never was, never shall. It’ll never happen. Dystopia isn’t my thing.
We’re just going to keep on going, so everyone should take the hint that love is true.

These conflicts are ridiculous and boring.

Dancing Bacons is a channel with a girl that goes around Asian countries and eating food form different places. Somewhat of an ASMR but not focusing on eating. She eats ALOT of food. Every few videos her girlfriend is in it, and she just kinda just..feeds her. Its unspoken but you get the vibe she has a fetish for feeding her girlfriend food

I don’t think any non-Canadian could fathom what Canadians are now.

                We’re an autismite nation.
And we’re also one country with Japan.

What if “the matrix” is only for one group of people?

Most people don’t have difficulty just loving love, growing heaven, vibing, and solving things.

Hey Zion, quit Judaism. You won’t regret it.

Y’all realize all drugs are legal in Canada?

    Each love is perfect.

A perfect world: me and my girlfriend fricking and fricking and fricking on shrooms, gaming, breeding, and getting fat together

The Architect didn’t say this. Agent Smith did.

Those lines are from Agent Smith in the first movie, not the Architect in Reloaded.

    >You don't seem to want to accept the fact that you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best! With guns, with knives, with his bare hands! A man who's been trained to ignore pain! To ignore weather! To live off the land! To eat things that would make a billy goat puke! In Vietnam his job was to dispose of enemy personnel... to kill, period! Win by attrition... well, Neo was THE BEST!

I could complain about almost anything yet I have no complaints about Canada and Japan.

I just want us to thrive ever more.

Architect and Oracle were lovers, by the way. And they had noisy, sweaty, old people sex after the war ended.

He meant that he was fulfilling the software echo of the hardware malfunction that caused humanity's downfall when hubris and hedonism caused their civilization to collapse. Humans weren't adapted to their own physical world and so weren't adapted to its digital replication.
