Did you like it when Tiny Toons was a very sentimental series (Playtime Toons, Whale's Tales, etc.)? It wasn't always this wacky comedy. It had it's episodes where it went for the feelsies and cutesiness and/or sentimentality

Yeah, they did quite a few of those. Whale's Tales even won an environmental award
Animaniacs on the other hand had no interest in doing emmy bait episodes and the one time they did, they outright mocked those episodes

The same reason you were hated by your parents. They had no incentive for that kind of emotional investment.

I think the series benefited from the fact it could do emotional episodes and zany wacky ones too. Tiny Toons had the perfect blend. I think that's what was missing from the reboot. The Reboot just tried to make it 'The Looney Tunes Show' sitcom but they're the Tiny Toons.
It would be better if they alternated between full-length 20 minute episodes and the 3 shorts format. Isn’t the meme with zoomers that they have short attention spans? The latter format would suit their needs better.

The show would have been actually really great if it had the same mature humor of Looney Tunes Show but in a college setting, and not afraid to play with the fact they are college students
