The controversy and outrage over her demise show how people care for females, even shitty unpleasant ones. Replace her with a man (same act and death) and you just know no one would have had a problem with it.

All the more shocking because women are not meant to die in Jurassic Park films, she probably thought she was safe. She was the first female to die over the course of 4 films by that point.
