The point isn't to imply the guy NEVER takes it off like he's gonna have some hygiene issues. The point is not having a homosexual actor taking their helmet off every two seconds to shove their pathetic mug into the camera lens at the expense of the character.

        >two months before The Raid
two years actually, it was delayed so it could be made in 3d

Yeah but the timing of two movies in this specific and relatively niche genre both getting made at the same time, by PUUUURE coincidence seems a bit hard to believe. At least in this case it isn't as bad as two animated movies about ants at the same time.

there were two robin hood movies released in 1991. the first came out a month before prince of thieves, but you never heard about it because it was removed from theaters and solely aired on tv.

That's almost impossible to determine, a script for one could have come first but the other began production first. or they might have both ripped of a third script which never made it to production, so neither ripped off the other at all.

2008 - garland has a script down but the studio is being told to make the movie in 3d so this causes delays
2009 - gareth evans shoots a film in indonesia about pencak silat and then starts writing the raid
                2010 - both start filming
2011 - both films are completed

Parallel production happens all the time. Sometimes it's studios explicitly competing with each other over an idea/topic, sometimes it's because two similar scripts get greenlit at the same time, and other times it's just coincidence.

judge dredd visually is perfect but storywise dredd tears it a new hole, even though jd also incorporates arcs from the comics. and for the record judge dredd's creator was a consultant on dredd and he gave that more serious look a solid two thumbs up.

this was when 3d was just in its infancy. So they called it Dredd 3d and put off a lot of people because they didn't care about 3d or want 3d, or want to put on glasses.

I remember this coming out and thinking i can't be arsed to trek to a cinema to watch this in 3d. i downloaded it and thought i would have to get some 3d glasses. Instead, it was just 2d normal. But for everyone it was just a lot of confusion. Also the teaser trailer was terrible it was all the slow mo drug stuff which made you think frick what is this 3d shit. Suffice to say no one watched.

Instead. instant cult classic. Better than robocop imho, since it hasnt been rebooted or have shitty sequels. Rumours a while back of a dredd tv series peach trees. I think Urban was up for it becuase he loved the movie. Thing is , he's not averse to tv series. Now he's got a hit series at Amazon with the boys, maybe he can leverage something.

anywhere a dredd discussion exists, there's a handful of gays talking about how it ripped off the raid, when dredd is pretty much about showing you this world through the eyes of a rookie judge on assessment. Executing people on your first day and having to become numb to the consequences when 24 hours earlier you're thinking about making change for the better. What the frick does the raid have to do with that?

I must be having one of them mandala effects.
I remember skipping this movie in the theater because of how crappy the poster was at the time.
It looked like an old fat man in blacked out (american) football armor but I can find it on google at all now. Yes I'm aware of the Stalone movie and that's not what I'm talking about.

Anyway this film is the kinoest fo sho.
