What's wrong with TCM? It has been my favorite channel for over 15 years now. I have found so many great movies late at night. Fricks sake they had Doctor Zhivago on for my morning coffee today.
Frick you. It's one of the only television channels worth watching and mom and dad enjoy watching old movies on it all the time. It's one of their major shared couple things that they enjoy together. Watched Wings on it with dad on it last time I was home (Oscar season), worthwhile screening.
She's the most strident man hater on TV. Every fricking commentary is about strong, pioneering cinema ladies. It's obsessive. Like Mankewicz is with shit wisecracks and social justice and the gay dude is with glamorous actresses and big flamboyant productions.
if you have a cable account or borrow somebodies you can watch the movies on the website and sometimes they have different intros including from the late Robert Osborne. If the host is female just skip it.
No, that's Fantastic Planet. FORBIDDEN PLANET is an excellent, high-budget 50s sci-fi film that actually has a good story. It was considered THE "good, serious" sci-fi movie until 2001 came along. It also has Robby the Robot. Watch it soon, you'll be glad you did, it's quite good.
