>It wasn't a dream at all. I feel like that was the entire point
That would have been lame. I don't think anything hinting at that.
Oh, that was clearly the plan. First thing we see is of Bean sleeping on her bed. That's intentional. Plus they speculate whether or not reality is a dream. Then you have all the colloquialisms like Norwegian metal, apps, and the Ohio pageant, and it's clear that they were headed to an alternate universe set in the real world. They said there's a reason why Zög has a Bostonian accent and such.
>Because where are the straight heroines?
In plenty of other show that have been done for decade, moron.
>Oh, that was clearly the plan. First thing we see is of Bean sleeping on her bed. That's intentional.
No, it's not. "it's all a dream" is usually a lame plot twist. and a journey starting from bed is quite usual, it doesn't imply it's a dream at all.
Name 3 US shows starring a heroine that kicks ass and gets the guy in the end.
the new futurama has had 3 decent enough eps at least
More Futurama is a way better trade than more Disenchantment.
You know the funny thing?
Is that while Disenchantment has been written as a serial show, its final set up things perfectly for a continuation in an episodic form.
All they'd ned was competent writers who are actually funny.
I don't want to see Bean or Mora again. Mora wasn't even a character.

Kim Possible
Buffy the vampire Slayer
Jessica Jones >I don't want to see Bean or Mora again.
Why? there is no objective reason to not like them
Mora wasn't even a character.
She was in season 5.

Futurama.
>"Just so happens" almost always this days,
Oh for frick sake, there is decades of straight protagonist, you are the only one being disingenuous complaining that they shuffling things a bit nowadays.
There is objectively zero valid reason to complain about that.
But not many straight female protagonists that kick butt. Kim Possible is the only American animated example. Even the Kim Possible fandom cries about how Kim should've shagged Shego.
i gave the show a chance when it first released, lost interest after 2 or 3 episodes and dropped it. Awhile later it tried it again and got to the hell arc and dropped it for good

groening is not why the simpsons and futurama were (keyword were) good.

i don't think anyone's going to fight you on groening shows no longer being good
the only thing i really like about the show are the quality backgrounds. you can tell talented artists worked on this. too bad they had to conform to groening's shitty art style
I'm guessing this series only went for as long as it did because it was contracted. Netflix would have assumed this was a big win for them, a fantasy animated series by the creators of the Simpsons and Futurama. I remember when this first came out, adverts everywhere, must have spent a fortune making people aware it existed, but it ends up being a wet fart.
I forced myself to watch the entire first season hoping it'd get good eventually. It never did. To my surprise, I'm enjoying Futurama's most recent episodes more than I enjoyed what I saw of this show.
I want to like this show but there's very little sense of development and they keep going back to the same plot points every season. It's like they wanted continuity with developing story and characters but they only know how to make episodic content.
So is part 5 the final or is their gonna be a part 6? Like how Netflix usually splits up a season into two parts. So this would be technically season 3 part a.
Part 5 is the final. they have basically tied down all the plot thread, with the exception of one:
the empty throne under the castle, it get activated by Magic, say "10 years" but nothing of consequence follow that.
Holy shit, Disenchantment is really dead around here.
I mean, sure, the series is weak, but at least the second half getts better since there's less filler and more story on it.
I think that the only thing that was impactful on the ending for me was that this series world isn't on The Earth like The Simpsons or Futurama, so, they are on the same universe, but not on the same world, and I like that, since Futurama feels more natural to the universe of The Simpsons instead of this one.
It wasn't a dream at all. I feel like that was the entire point but they cut it because they didn't have enough episodes to execute it fully. Instead it's just queerbait with a happily ever after for Bean and her trophy girlfriend.
>They constantly teased a universe where magic or Dagmar doesn't exist and they did nothing with it. >a universe where magic c...) doesn't exist
To be fair, do we really want to do that again?
I really wanted this to be good.
Medieval fantasy Futurama?
I was sold.
But that's not what it is, not at all.
And it's not that it's BAD, it just isn't good.
It doesn't do anything particularly well.
None of the reveals were actually exciting since they brought Dagmar back to life. We all knew Elfo was half-ogre, Miri is the rightful monarch of Dreamland, and I saw Elfo killing Elfo as soon as he said he was going to go back in time and find out who shot him. The mysteries lacked temptation, so there was no payoff. I mean, who gave a frick about Dagmar? I saw Bean hating her more than Dagmar actually being evil. The mother problems were killed without addressing any of the feelings Bean subconsciously held towards her.
The one thing I will say is that if you were still following because you wanted to know what would happen to the characters, they at least cover that decently.
If you were invested in the story, it feel conclusive enough.
Also, this season made me laugh a few more time than the previous ones.
So in the end she was just as trite, boring, and chock full of wasted potential as the rest of the show? Fantastic, glad I quit watching after the mermaid shit.
>So in the end she was just as trite, boring, and chock full of wasted potential as the rest of the show?
It's the thing for all big villain, anon. the bigger the ambition, the less original they are, the biggest plans always boil down to either control the world forever, or destroy it. Even Palpatine don't escape that rule.
I only got lost with one thing, why the devil crossed out Luci from the death? I was expecting there that Luci will be alive again instead of being on heaven
I am not even sure what corssing a name from the deathbook even actually imply.
I only got lost with one thing, why the devil crossed out Luci from the death? I was expecting there that Luci will be alive again instead of being on heaven
How is it that Bean has healing powers to the point of being able to heal serious wounds or glue arms and is able to try the same with Mora when she is stabbed?
Besides we see during those chapters how he revives people in jars with magic water from Dreamland, why the frick can't Mora also revive with that water? Did they just need an excuse to kill Luci?
I think the Crones were special cases with innate magic on their own that favor healing. The arms were still able to move on their own even after having been cut off.
Really? Neat. I'll catch it in the morning.
>Lesbian protagonist #7263663636
Die.
Die.
Actually no, it's lesbian protagonist #4,138,662,054.
The one you described is Sisu's sister Amba.
You know there are fare more hetero protagonists, right?
It's just a protag who happens to be bi, why rustle your jimmies?
Because where are the straight heroines?
Oh, that was clearly the plan. First thing we see is of Bean sleeping on her bed. That's intentional. Plus they speculate whether or not reality is a dream. Again, you know there are plenty of hetero protagonists, right?
But not many straight female protagonists that kick butt. Kim Possible is the only American animated example. Even the Kim Possible fandom cries about how Kim should've shagged Shego.
its still running? I thought it was discontinued 4 years ago or so.
she's a lesbian now?
this just shows how litlle people care about this
i gave the show a chance when it first released, lost interest after 2 or 3 episodes and dropped it. Awhile later it tried it again and got to the hell arc and dropped it for good
groening's old. you can tell.
groening is not why the simpsons and futurama were (keyword were) good.
>(keyword were)
i don't think anyone's going to fight you on groening shows no longer being good
>now
the frick
it did feel pretty netflix-style forced.
Oh shut up. They had a season of build up
There's an entire episode where she's lezzing out with a mermaid
Wasn't that a dream?
Turned out it wasn't.
for women that's not proof of lesbianism. dudes making out with dudes yeah totally gay. but with women it's not.
She is bi.
Will be skimming for whatever fetish content it offers.
literally the only people who watched this were people who missed futurama. but we have futurama now. it's just as shit, but that's besides the point
the only thing i really like about the show are the quality backgrounds. you can tell talented artists worked on this. too bad they had to conform to groening's shitty art style

I wanted to like it but it just feels too depressing and cynical.
also shallow
Welp, now that I've skimmed it for all the times Bean does things with her mermaid girlfriend, I'm done with this show forever.
I forced myself to watch the entire first season hoping it'd get good eventually. It never did. To my surprise, I'm enjoying Futurama's most recent episodes more than I enjoyed what I saw of this show.

Bunp
Is Elfo dead for good yet? c**t makes the show unwatchable.
wait he died? good riddance but when did that happen?
i love how literally nobody remembers key plot points
spays alot about the quality of the writing
frick feet show me her butt
It's the "safest" type of LGBT rep
Holy shit, Disenchantment is really dead around here.

Didn't she try to frick guys earlier, wouldn't that make her bisexual or something?
a lot of homosexuals try out straight intercourse first before discovering what they are
>t. ran away from a girl
Nomen est omen
Just finished it. Series sucks.
It wasn't a dream at all. I feel like that was the entire point but they cut it because they didn't have enough episodes to execute it fully. Instead it's just queerbait with a happily ever after for Bean and her trophy girlfriend.
>It wasn't a dream at all. I feel like that was the entire point
That would have been lame. I don't think anything hinting at that.
They constantly teased a universe where magic or Dagmar doesn't exist and they did nothing with it.
They fricked up from the start. Too much information was hidden for four seasons and then they speedrun all the interesting shit in this last batch.
>They constantly teased a universe where magic or Dagmar doesn't exist and they did nothing with it.

The evil mom is one of the top hottest Greoning girls.
TLRD the series finale
>that final post-credits scene
I think it indicates it's truly an elfique realm, now.
also made it safer from people who would want to exploit its magic.
So did they ever actually explain what the frick Bean's mom was doing?
Seeking absolute power and immortality and eternal youth. How the Crown was supposed to work isn't really clear.
So in the end she was just as trite, boring, and chock full of wasted potential as the rest of the show? Fantastic, glad I quit watching after the mermaid shit.

I thought this had already been cancelled
I think Groening signed with Netflix for a full show.
You know the funny thing?

I think that water only had that property at that precise moment, not before, not after.
I'll be honest
I didn't expect God to die
Though the moment I saw it was a literal lightbulb, I knew exactly how he would be brought back.
is there no mega? or anything
>Any hype?
Nope
what of it
I liked it
I detested it
