I get Vandal is above morality, but some of the shit The Light does to accomplish their goal to advance humanity is so dark and disgustingly evil that even nuanced empathy for his cause is lost because Weisman goes too evil with no nuance on a lot of the other villains.
>Weisman: "There's no such thing as heroes and villains in my stories because I'm the modern Shakespeare. So don't label them that, YJ wiki." >show has villains that casually want to murder kids and cut voiceboxes out of babies unflinched
Hes a capeshit villain in a capeshit world written by capeshit writers. Im sure somewhere out there a Mcdonalds frycook thinks hes serving the equivalent of 5 star meals.
Most of the "mind rape" was done against criminals and villains, either to get information (when you prob too hard into someone's mind to do that, you risk mind-breaking them, making them basically lobotomized) or to just kill them.
The problem that Cinemaphile has with her is the moments she used these powers on her allies, the least egregious one was when she used it against Kaldur (Aqualad), he was working as a double agent for the good guys and part of the ruse was pretending to have killed another ally, Artemis, but not every ally knew about this plan so she thought he actually killed her, and proceeded to mind-break him, she later fixes that but for Cinemaphile that is not enough.
The one people here have the most problem with is when she uses, not even the "mind rape" powers but just normal mind powers, to change her boyfriend's (Conner/Superboy) memory of their argument so they wouldn't have fought at all (said arguing was about how he had problems with her "mind raping" the criminals), it doesn't work because he is so accustomed to them communicating and other stuff using the mind powers that he immediately noticed what she was trying to do and stopped her, they break up after that but get back together later in the season after some character development but again, not enough for Cinemaphile.
>not even the "mind rape" powers but just normal mind powers, to change her boyfriend's (Conner/Superboy) memory of their argument so they wouldn't have fought at all (said
That is a huge consent violation for a relationship. Conner was right to dump her and I am annoyed they had them get back together via timeskips and not Megan taking accountability
She groomed him too. Conner was essentially a traumatized newborn rejected by his parents. I can't believe so many people were okay with the two of them together, even without the mind raping. If the genders were reversed people would demanding the creator's head on a spike.
Technically he is but you are selling Conner too short, he still got the knowledge and maturity expected for his perceived age, otherwise he literally would act like a toddler.

His undeveloped social skills and M'gann trying to mold him into her sitcom fantasy made the relationship dynamic a little weird in season 1, but also that's an intentional aspect of the story and gets addressed.

He never got to experience life in any meaningful way before she sunk his claws into him. Friends, family, dating, developmental milestones...nothing. He should have at least dated several different women before being tied down in a relationship.

That is a bit unfair to him, most of the other characters didn't date several other people before they settled in their current relationship, and most of them actually had their first relationship be their first one with very few exceptions.

Huge difference between someone with almost two decades of life experiences settling on the first person the date and some 50 year old psychic with mind rape powers manipulating someone with zero life experiences and a whole slew of other mental health issues into being their perfect boyfriend because he reminds her of a guy she likes on a TV show.
Connor should have dumped Megan for Phantom Girl
Would definitely be an upgrade

The show was best and tightest in S1 but it always had spotty writing, in S1 you had the constant Light just as planned and the romance stuff all being underwritten
Like they could have saved the romance for S2 without a timeskip and concentrated on the mole and clone stuff

>in S1 you had the constant Light just as planned
S2 was the one where everything played into the Light's plan. S1 had the team blundering into bigger plans and disrupting them... but failed to completely thwart the whole operation. The Light pretty much only got 5-6 wins over on the team in S1. Which amounted to blackmailing 3 of them and the single most over the top distraction I think I've seen in fiction, which had the effect of placing the Team on a different planet than the event it was a decoy for.

They seem to get be getting increasingly more significant losses each season. >Season 1: Nigh-unstoppable with some losses. >Season 2: For the most part challenged until they're outsmarted and exposed in the penultimate episode with some of their members captured. >Season 3: Savage needed the Teams help because he almost fricked up in Darkseid's favor after nearly granting him the Anti-Life Equation. >Season 4: Significant losses for their League of Shadows thanks to the Shade's help. More importantly, Savage is now on thin ice with the Lords of Order and Chaos for his double standards and directly frick with his plan for Earth.
Yeah he has the several hundred Kryptonians now to conquerer the universe but the original 5 season plan is still unchanged according to Weisman. The Light is done for by the end of Season 5 is my take from that and the final two of the planned seasons are basically the aftermath and facing the Darkseid threat.

If that's true, just end it with season 5 (if Gunn decides to actually renew this) and have the ending to the show time jump to 2030 showing the end of the Darkseid War with Conner finishing him off on Happy Harbor.

It's hilarious how much of a b***h Clark is in YJ. He gets called out for voting upstart heroes into the League to monitor them to see if they're Kryptonian. Yet he wants to ignore the one new hero that he knows is Kryptonian, wants his mentorship, and is so overtly desperate to get recognition he could be a liability if he's left to his own devices.

Superman could have turned out to be a living WMD if he wasn't found and raised by good people so one would think he'd take in someone under similar circumstances and give them the love and support he was given.
She did take accountability and owned up to her mistakes. The issue is that there were never any kind of consequences for her the same way other characters gets. Roy got punished for having a PTSD attack and Brion was manipulated into killing Bedlam and usurping his brother, yet the narrative treats them as in the wrong.
As another anon went over here M'gann has a large, like 6 episode chunk of S2 where she's punished for her "I do what I want" attitude with brian-frickery. She scrambled Kaldur's mind before she realized he was a double agent, and then allowed herself to be taken prisoner in an isolated submarine, with a bomb around her neck that turned her powers off and no safety nets to try to fix her mistake.
Is that in any sense answering for her specific abuses of Conner or making penance for anyone but Artemis and Kaldur? No. But it serves to demonstrate the growth of her character past abusing her powers.
Artemis invited him back to the team at the end of the radio play.
>and Brion was manipulated into killing Bedlam and usurping his brother
Yeah, but despite Black Lightning's shitty speech about him becoming a villain, they still work with him from time to time and Brion's still portrayed as someone who's trying to do the right thing despite all that happened.
Seething that if she was going to get scolded for being a manipulative b***h anyway, that she should've just gone for the full brain blasting from the start.
Still hot and there’s a lot of possibilities with her powers. Shame Cheshire had the only real fanservice and pant shot in the show but it’s great though though
Not gonna lie, one of the reasons I loved Megan is because she did so much reprehensible shit and gets away with it. She mind raped at the very least 5 people and no one called her out, She did it to one of them twice. Add in the fact she took on the form of other women while fricking Superboy even though those women didn't like it and it's even better.
I mean, of course they wouldn't like that someone uses their appearance during sex. It's not the kind of thing anyone would actually like. The fact that they don't like it should go without saying.
>Add in the fact she took on the form of other women while fricking Superboy even though those women didn't like it and it's even better.
which women were those? i forgot
Yeah I wish we had one more season with only the OG cast before doing a time skip. I feel like there were so many more dynamics to explore, everyone suffered from it but I feel like M'gann got the worst of it, I hardly remember much of her dynamics with anyone who wasn't Conner.
Young Justice should have been about the genderqueer muslim motherbox from the start. There's no need for other characters when a single character achieves peak diversity by xerself.
It got cut off on a cliffhanger and Weisman couldn't let go. The rest was WB refusing to see that he needs a tardwrangler and limitations like when he had to be PG, not full control.
Yeah, Miss Martian was totally punished by having her character dating fish homosexual at the start of season 2. Then they have Superboy wait around until they make up.
Conner deserved better. He should have got together and fricked Wonder Girl like the comics.
Nah, Lagoon Boy deserved better than her. As annoying as he was, he was genuine and upfront about his love for her, while she was just using him for emotional support after Superboy dumped her.
In a show where the villains are literally the worst of humanity and go unpunished, she can't compare.
So don't label them that, YJ wiki."

it sounds like you have a lot of growing up to do if you can't handle different people enjoying doing things that you don't
What the frick are you talking about?
honest question: are your parents first cousins or closer in relation?
Path to hell is paved with good intentions yada yada yada

When they made her a serial mind rapist I dropped the show.

qrd?
Did you even watch the show?
nah, I just stumbled upon this post in the catalog and was kinda intrigued

It's still mind rape.
Like how She-Hulk is a serial ponzi rapist.
Rape by deception is based on pretending to be someone else. She-Hulk is still the person known as She-Hulk, even when she is not in She-Hulk form.
Oh? What name does she use when she isn't in She-Hulk form?
She considers herself 2 different people.

I'm not saying it isn't, but it's not the mind rape power, call it mind gaslighting or something

why does she look angry and disappointed at the fact that she isn't allowed to just mindrape anyone?
Seething that if she was going to get scolded for being a manipulative b***h anyway, that she should've just gone for the full brain blasting from the start.
I feel YJ leaned too much into the 00's ick & sleaziness.
Gargoyles & Spectacular Spider-Man didn't have this problem.
The show aired during 2010 anon. It was 2000s media for all intent and purposes.
It's everything wrong with modern superheroes.
Celebrities with powers.
Honestly it always felt like she messed with Superboy's brain to make him fall in love with her, it happened like a light switch
Then she never really gets any comeuppance for modeling Superboy and her entirely after the Hello Megan show
Superboy got mad and sad for all of five minutes then they forgot about it
>Superboy got mad and sad for all of five minutes then they forgot about it
odds on her mindraping him into forgetting it in about 5 mins and just not telling him?
Still hot and there’s a lot of possibilities with her powers. Shame Cheshire had the only real fanservice and pant shot in the show but it’s great though though
why femrobin hot?
Chicks man.
The Cheshire panty shot is awesome though. Also Megan actually does it with Conner one episode in season 3
Someone did this and a a no clothes version. Also someone did a white and bottomless edit of Cheshire scene

which women were those? i forgot
Black Canary
And Johnz saying "It totally cool on Mars" was hilarious as frick.
Especially since BC is a grown ass woman .
In terms of DC alien girls, she's a shit Starfire.
You guys like how Greg robs us of 5 seasons with a bullshit timeskip?
Yeah I wish we had one more season with only the OG cast before doing a time skip. I feel like there were so many more dynamics to explore, everyone suffered from it but I feel like M'gann got the worst of it, I hardly remember much of her dynamics with anyone who wasn't Conner.
I finally have been watching beginning to end and the timeskips and team add-ons has been the most annoying aspect.
most realistic portrayal of a girl in a cartoon
>wherever I am I must also mindrape
Did they ever bring the show back and if so what happened?
2 seasons later in 2019 or so
I felt s4 was better than s3.
just like all whites
Young Justice should have been about the genderqueer muslim motherbox from the start. There's no need for other characters when a single character achieves peak diversity by xerself.

I miss her so much, bros
Ananda from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fast Forward?
What is Satsuki Kiruyin doing there
Why'd they refuse to just end it bros?
It got cut off on a cliffhanger and Weisman couldn't let go. The rest was WB refusing to see that he needs a tardwrangler and limitations like when he had to be PG, not full control.
In other words, a woman.
I mean she shit on him too but he was an annoying moron . They turned him into a literal gay cuck anyway. Manta was right about Atlantis.
>Conner deserved better. He should have got together and fricked Wonder Girl like the comics.
This
bump
At least she didn't make anyone gay.
What is it with redheads and mindfricking their fellow heroes?
Red heads are witches, that's why Hollywood wants them gone.
