Are they? I assumed that disney was trying to market specifically to young girls. If they've been trying to target boys, they've done a terrible job.
I don't think any of the most recent Disney animated series are specifically targeting boys.
Disney has and continues to make bank from the princess series and "girly" things. The only one to buck that trend was Cars in which is grossed Disney something like 11 billion dollars because boys love cars.
I don't think any of the western cartoon producers are aiming at boys anymore, they kind of gave up after anime ate their lunch when it comes to animation aimed at boys.

The last three shows that they made trying to target a boys audience was the two duck shows and Big Hero 6, all of which are over half a decade old now
LOT3C wasn’t given an actual chance but had all the elements needed for a boy toon, Ducktales was lacking the adventure needed to hold the guys and BH6 was a bit executive meddled but seemed to do decently well
I don’t think it’s an issue if they can’t make a show targeting boys, it’s that they don’t want to. Either they want to make girl only shows for various reasons or want both audiences but can’t find a way to manage both sensibilities

Disney must have given up when they started producing Star Wars and Marvel cartoons for boys (which has since shifted towards live-action shows on Disney+).
i honestly think the shift away from boys' programming is because of the move away from the focus on merchandising/toy sales.

I don't really think that'll be the case. If anything, male Anne and Sasha would make up earlier. Fighting between guy friends is something that happens, but they usually make up relatively quick, if not grow closer. Female friends do fight occasionally with each other, but it's usually more subdued and less frequent and they're harder to make up as I understand. It would be curious to see how a cross-sex altercation would go. I guess it'll depend on who's a guy or girl. I think Marcy would act around the same though.
