I'm convinced that this is just jealous b***hes and people pandering such trying to make people women feel bad for being hot. And I definitely mean "women," because no one calls depictions of men "unrealistic" even when they look like the most roided-out beastman you've ever seen.

What gets me is that I when I see stuff like He-Man get brought up as kind sexist, I've seen women call it a "power fantasy". Okay, then is dressing up as fricking Stripperella a power fantasy then?!

        >The move from Disney comes after it confirmed her disappearance from meet-and-greets at the resort in February.

        >Tinker Bell has reportedly faced scrutiny from Disney’s Stories Matter team ahead of the debut of Disney+ in 2019. The team reportedly flagged and labeled the character to Disney executives as "potentially problematic," claiming that she is “body conscious” and “jealous of Peter Pan’s attention,” according to a 2022 report from The New York Times.

        >Disney’s Stories Matter team was developed to spot and correct “negative depictions of people and cultures” in Disney’s products.

        >“We are reviewing our offerings beyond the screen, which include products, books, music and experiences,” reads the Stories Matter homepage on Disney’s website. “While advisories for negative depictions of people and cultures may be added to some offerings, others will be reimagined. We are also investing in new ways to better reflect the rich diversity of stories in our world. This work is ongoing and will evolve as we strive toward a more inclusive tomorrow.”

Female brains are wired differently from male brains.

When a guy sees an awesome guy, he thinks “Hell yeah. Literally me!”.

When a girl sees a beautiful girl, she thinks “Stupid c**t! She’s not the pretty one! I AM! Only people who look exactly like ME are attractive!”.

The Ancient Greeks actually wrote about this. How in a society ruled by women all men would be forced to frick ugly women first and pretend they’re just as attractive.

Ever notice how females CONSTANTLY give each other bullshit compliments? Like they will call legit burn victims and deformed abominations and whales “Gorgeous”? But if you compare them in seriousness “Wow. You look JUST LIKE that troony you called beautiful a hour ago!” they get offended? It’s like that.

A lot of sex ed expansions in general are jaw droppingly weird to me now.
Like in the mid 10s you basically had
              >"Changes in your body"
              >The reproductive system
              >Protection
              >Birth control methods
              >STI education and when to get checked
              >Discussing consent and boundaries
Admittedly, I feel weird about sex toys because the general gist of sex ed is "Look, we know you're gonna do it, we're showing you safety then we all get to go home"
So I can definitely see how teaching kids about sex toys, particularly those designed for insertion, is important considering the number of hospital stories there are regarding this. At the same time, I feel like that's a matter of just showing the object on the desk and some infographics

                >At the same time, I feel like that's a matter of just showing the object on the desk and some infographics
For that, it should be more like a shop class safety video showing the various injury types that are possible.

                Anonymous

I'd add size chart sheets too. For instance, the vegana can take a lot, it is built to do that but if we're talking someone who wants to try anal insertion, that's a different story.
That's the hard part about sex ed in the post internet era. There's more and more stuff that teens wanna try because they have more knowledge of it than in previous generations, and in turn, teaching the safety prodedures becomes more and more awkward.

I know it's a meme to say but we are actively in our Weimer Republic arc. Sadly I don't think we're gonna get out of it unscathed, we're probably heading towards a molasses slow societal collapse like Rome had. No cool riots in the street or way to fight back, just watching as rights and beliefs we once held to be self evident get eroded and the cost of living progressively gets worse and worse until there is no middle class and the average wage can never ever buy a halfway decent house or vehicle. Hell is entropy, and right now we're living in it, baby

Anaheim dweller here. COMPLETELY UNFOUNDED RUMOR is that it's because Disney is having more GHETTO ASS BULLSHIT problems, and they're happening to tinkerbell.

Some fricker trying to sexually harass the tink for their tiktok.

Some THOT taking issue with HER MAN paying too much attention to tinkerbell's bells.

The speculated plan is to keep Tink up and away and out of hair weave pulling range.

      Vid only vaugely related.

There was a BIG internal slapfight on whether they wanted black ariel or not.

It's because the veteran employees and non-woke people keep walking out (e.g. what happened to the original team working on Wish).

and this is the source they cite:
    https://plandisney.disney.go.com/question/why-tinkerbell-no-longer-meet-greet-plans-bring-back-567110/

Said source only says that Tinkerbell isn't currently doing standard walk-around meet and greets due to the rotating cast of meet and greet characters. She does still appear in the parade and other scheduled attractions.

"Large asses" weren't in vogue but men have always like large hips, which tends to mean wide if not bubbly asses.
Tink being meant to be more comically cute than classy meant she didn't have to have princess proportions with thin, delicate features.

Her ass would still be wide thanks to the hips, fashion of the 20th century generally favored slender figures for women which is why you see so many things from those years of women disliking having a big butt. Big hips was generally coded for liking a nice ass too, but more of a pert and well shaped one over a large, bubble butt.

This is simply puritanism dressed in a progressive veneer, the idea of ethical capitalism or "capitalism with a human face" is sadly not a new concept. What we are seeing is the culmination of an unholy marriage between compassionate liberal conservatism and vague progressivism. Why is it always young girls or women that the world needs to bend over for? At what point will people realize men are so fricked up now is because of how one sided and unfair the balance has become? Boys get zero support and are attacked for their natural behavior. Men are to carry society and constantly being blamed while being demanded more of. Breast cancer foundations and awareness, none for prostate cancer. Women evacuated, men stay to die. Did the marriage fail, well now the man has to pay for it the rest of his life. Men will logically continue to check out, and they will continue to berate and try to punish us for it until one day something breaks.

I used to not really think about it, but lately I'm also starting to feel boys and men are getting left behind. One issue that immediately comes to mind is it seems like nobody cares that women are attending college by like a 2:1 ratio, whereas lots of young men are just dropping off the face of the Earth after high school. A bunch of bored young men not doing anything with their lives can't be a good thing to just leave on the back burned like this.

Having a bunch of men just removing themselves from society like that can't be a good thing to ignore, but everyone just does for some reason.

You get a bunch of bored guys who feel like they have no direction in life but who society ignores because it'd much rather focus on women's wellbeing and tells men they're just being pussies if they complain about any problems they're having, then this can lead to some of those young men getting violent as they try to find direction and meaning. It's what leads to strongmen rising to power in fragile countries because they give these young men a cause to fight for.

            >Sounds like a combination of budget and wanting to promote newer characters
This seems like the most obvious case.

If it were just about the character's "look", it wouldn't be a problem, because they've already redesigned her for some of her solo movies. Pic related. A new costume and maybe a little bit of rehearsal time for the actresses to "update" her personality to better reflect that version of the character (or something different again), and they'd be good to go.

Tink is one of the classic characters, but it makes sense that they might want to cycle her out with someone a bit more contemporary and relevant.

I don't think they see that as an option, that version of Tinkerbell hasn't had a movie in many years, Disney probably doesn't see as a recognizable character anymore

                Anonymous

Sure, but you don't even need to go that far. Just have the "current" version of Tink show up one day wearing a slightly more substantial top, a longer skirt (or morph it into more of a skort), and/or give her green leggings. If the problem was"just" about the character having a "problematic body image", then the cheapest and easiest option requires only a few relatively simple modifications to the wardrobe.

It's overkill to throw out the entire character (at least, from that element of the park) ... unless you wanted to do so already, and wanted to come up with a reason for it which (might) win you some brownie points. Disney theme park fans don't like change, so better to make it sound like you're making a change for noble reasons rather than for marketability.

Flappers weren’t the standard for how to dress in family friendly children’s media so this whole argument is pants on head level of idiocy. Flappers were also considered decadent and scandalous by the contemporary social standards hence why it was a youthful movement that revolved around getting wasted and dancing at adult parties full of booze and debauchery, it was not a fashion choice for making appearances in child matinees.

                You need to understand.

Women are more puritanical and at the same time less puritanical than men are. If you travel to a Muslim country, you’ll quickly notice that women are the most insane bigots when it comes to judging how women dress. Not the men. Islam allowed ugly women to artificially inflate their own value by forcing beautiful women onto the same playing field as ugly women due to the ninja costume dress code. Achmed can’t tell if there’s a dream or a nightmare under those robes, so ugly women get a fighting chance to share a Sheikh. The pussy cartel in the Ummah is VASTLY more powerful than outside it. Of course this applies to anywhere women exist. Christian women do it, Buddhist women do it, and Atheist women are not immune from it either. Feminists seen sex negative in this sense because they are. But rather than blaming pretty women directly like Conservative/Religious women do, they shift blame and shame onto men. “Pig! Creep! How dare you find this smoking hot chick attractive?! Shame on you! Beauty is a social construct! True beauty is inside!”. They present censorship and degradation of beauty as a feminist act protecting women against lecherous swine men.

When women talk about men, they’re talking about a very narrow or a very massive category. Women dress like bawds for the 20% of men they find attractive. That’s who the bikinis and lingerie and pushup bras and booty shorts and skirts and makeup and plastic surgery is for. They don’t give a frick if those guys stare and get horny.

For the average man however, as much as his attention is craved (albeit not as much as a 20% man) he is also despised for overstepping. This is the “male gaze” lesbians and leftist women are angry about. Nothing horrifies and upsets a woman more than when a man she views as beneath her feeling aroused or getting bold. His proper role is that of an asexual pet.

              >"...an unrealistic body image..."
Why because she doesn't weigh as much as a manatee?

Tell me this isn't the earliest character that's gotten Stellar Bladed. Not only are Tinkerbell's relative proportions realistic and achievable (unless you're naturally large-chested), SHE HAD A LIVE MODEL, just like with Eve from Stellar Blade, so you can't say there aren't women out there who look like that.

Margaret Kerry, Tink's live model, told a story about how, when she and her husband (at the time) first watched Peter Pan, he leaned over and said to her, "I'd recognize those thighs anywhere." (I may be getting that quote slightly off, as that is from memory.)

Fact is, Tinkerbell is a thick-bottomed pettanko, and I'm pretty sure there are plenty of women out there with that shape: I dated at least one of them, and they aren't exactly rare.

She's unrealistic because humans can't be that tiny unless they are in the womb but nobody wants to frick a strawberry jelly looking fetus

Guys, please don't tell me you are actually falling for the excuse. None of that shit in the OP matters one but tot he people who made this decision. Its just the spin they put on it.
Disney wants to make a new design for a character they own so they can re-sell everything tinkerbell related all over again. Thats it. Its a merchandising and publicity stunt, this is just the paper thin excuse for why they 'have' to do it.
If Disney was still making as much money as they used to, this wouldn't be happening. Its an attempt at cash and attention.

Whatever the reason for removing her is I sincerely doubt it's because Disney thinks she's problematic now. She was featured in a recent Lorcana gift set, plus there are a bunch of other cards featuring her original design.
Wasn't she prominent in the Disney 100 short as well?

Only stuff that supports this is that she has been removed as a meet and greet and it seems like they are phasing out her classic green dress design in SOME material plus she turned into a black in the shit live action whatever that was. She still appears on floats in her normal green dress though

    Question for chicks lurking

Why do most of you feel so threatened and bothered by good looking girls? When I see a hot guy in a movie or show, nothing about it bothers me. I’d prefer to look at him over an ugly guy. I know I’m not attractive. What he looks like doesn’t hurt my feelings or make me jealous.

Why do you always try to tear down attractive women and guys attracted to them?

      Anonymous

That question is completely pointless to ask here. The femanons who post here are likely not the kind of women calling for this. In general most women are great about hyping up prettier, sexier women- and in the converse, the most vicious about destroying women they find ugly or weird. The kind of people doing this are management types who are just bitter to the core.

This sort of thing annoys me, but more for how much ammo it gives to the sort of people who think it's the death of western civilization. I think some anons earlier in this thread totally called it, this is just something they were already going to do anyway for budget and promotional reasons and they just wanted some noble-sounding excuse for it. It's not because purple-haired hordes hung tinkerbell in fricking effigy, Tink's basically an icon for the big-butt crowd, you see her on ghetto clothes almost as much as looney tunes characters. Again, the Peter Pan movie is already in lockup for that racist-ass indian song. But I'll guarantee you they won't go to the trouble of removing her from the ride. It's not as simple as removing that song from the soundtrack.

tldr it's just frickin' bait man who gives a shit. the more crying from the right they get the more free press they get

Lot of confusion about puritans on all sides. They were a politically left-wing group compared to the society they lived in, but they were simultaneously more sexually and religiously conservative than the society they lived in. Also, their ideological descendants currently rule the world through elite American universities that gatekeep elite status in America. Almost all Ivy League schools have very strong and sometimes explicitly Puritan roots

That's why it's obvious marketing spin bullshit. Anyone who thinks disney actually cares about any of this shit is a fool giving them free publicity. The more people feed into the narrative by complaining about disney getting "woke", the more they get to act like heroes.
