other than license issues(how many cool superhero names are left?) nothing
I've created my own superhero story once with a bunch of hero and villain characters.
>(how many cool superhero names are left?
The guys making Incredibles talked about how hard it was to come up with superhero names that were not already in use and owned by someone else. And that was in 2003.
I want to like her but she runs me off the wrong way. It's pointed out in the fricking story but it's not really delved enough.
Also frick Contessa and Jack Slash as characters and plot devices.
Worm is pretty neat but by god the start is rough. Also the why the frick did the author make the fights random if it wasn't really supposed to affect the story line? Odds are I'm just misinformed but I don't see why bother doing that?
Short of artistic ability(both illustrative AND writing) and time? Nothing. I mean I've done it. It's like an insane rambling document, but it exists.
The more important question is "what's stopping people from publishing their own capeshit universe?"
I have my own superhero universe, and it's going great. If I were to carry it out successfully, it would probably be one of the greatest superhero comics ever.
Who cares about selling a billion zillion copies and being rich? I’m not trying to be some rapper or some shit, just be able to tell a story. I’m good in a warm room with food.
Why is it always 99% of the time someone's take on the JLA? There is always a flying brick, with fast guy, light shooting guy, water breathing guy, and magical warrior woman on a team?
At least make a unique superhero universe for a change. It's always someone's take on the JLA every fricking time.
I have a take on the JLA as very tertiary characters in my universe. The primary group has >non-flying brick >wizard >guy with eye lasers >gorilla with a gun >fire chick
People do it look up Eric July, you need to support it to though, as in vote with your dollars. My Dad couldn't understand why i spent $80 on two issues when they were $1.50 when he was a kid but its more symbolic and collectors item now, as an investment.
Better question, what's stopping someone from making their own capeshit universe with actual good character designs?
Why do the costumes in these things always look like parodies?
I’d throw away any idea of costumes and just have everyone dress in casual but stylish outfits. Prefer everyone looks like Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat than having any of that superhero shit in it.
That's not the point of The Boys.
Also, what does that have to do with this

I think a mix of street wear and high fashion would be good depending on the character.
Alot of this DIY stuff is coming from that deconstruction comic of superheroes guy. The other guy seemingly has things but we don’t got anything from them to be seen.
Then there’s Eric July but honestly his stuff is pretty bland to be taken seriously at this point. I’ve had a absurfism point of view that everything with stories and ideas are already done and taken and idk how to feel about that.
Honestly the only universe that I know of that is original is Cinemaphileverse, with LL and everyone else. I want to make my own universe also but I’m afraid what with a loss of creativity and understanding
Invincible doesn't really feel satirical but that's probably the missing context the original relied on. From what I seen so far it's just a standard super hero verse with stronger continuity.
When something happens it's relevant for the rest of the series rather than handwaved and half forgotten.
nobody would want it. people want superman and others theyre already familiar with. they want to collect and hoard issues with the idea theyre worth something.
webcomics have had superheroes and nobody read those, so theres your proof.
They'd rather sit here and pretend they read comics and manga to start fights
Surely that's just the case on this board, right?

It's why Helen was merchandized as "Mrs. Incredible" instead of Elastigirl since DC already called dibs on the name.
It's funny cause Helen is the main on to pop up when you Google "Elastigirl"
Because DC's has - in it. It's Elastic-girl
Shame this never got adapted
That's a good thing.
I disagree. It would have brought in more readers
I like Worm and love its fanfiction (wish the sperging over E88 would die tho) but how good are adaptions these days? Not good.
Girl on the right is the only one who looks cool. The other two look like crap.
I like Alexandria's design too but I also like Legion and Eidolon.

That girl, Skitter, is our lovely MC.
>That girl, Skitter, is our lovely MC.
I love her fight scenes but I can't stand her outside them.
I have a deep fondness for Taylor and if I weren't such a lazy scatter brained ADHD riddled mess I'd have several Worm fics up on FFN and Ao3 lol.
I enjoyed many aspects of her character but they lead nowhere. Her character has so many loose ends it looks like yarn ball in a blender.
I want to like her but she runs me off the wrong way. It's pointed out in the fricking story but it's not really delved enough.

Yeah.
There’s also Chum, Super Powereds, World Domination in retrospect, and Whateley Academy

that's some mighty arrogance, you need to be able to back that sort of talking up
So, show it
I'd be a great fool to reveal any part of my series this early.
I bet you’ll start it..eventually. You just gotta get yourself up to a level you want..yeh that’s it. You’re totally gonna make it one day.
I've already started.
I have a day job.
Any day now..
You are drawing it too, right?
Hell yeah.
Good.
Myself.
Who hurt you, bbygurl?
You seem like a really shitty person, Anon.
Just someone who recognizes patterns. I want the best for people really.
Yeah, because passive aggressive comments are all about bringing out the best in people.
Unironically yes.
Comics don’t sell, dude. It’s not where the money is.

>Eric July,
Hahahaha imagine supporting a grifter.
If your not part of the solution your part of the problem
I'm not giving some shitty right wing grifting culture warrior anything, you can if you want and I'm sure that'll get you updoots on here.
>We will make our own capeshit
>with blackjack and hookers
Who the FRICK is top middle?
No idea. I only recognize Savage Dragon, Witchblade, and Spawn
Omni man is on this pic 5 times
Daddy Nolan
Dupli-Kate is on it 3 times.
Mark's on it 4.
He earned it. He's the only good character.
Make a manga instead
nothing. You have an example of it being done

Hello, Garth Ennis.
>t. never read Garth Ennis
>The whole point of the Boys is Garth's OC Billy Butcher whose a Punisher expy beating up superheroes who are all LE EVIL
That's not the point of The Boys.
Also, what does that have to do with this
comment?

Who?
Every time someone tries to make a non big two superhero universe it ends up crashing and burning in to the ground.
The only ones that are good are the really subversive, satirical ones.
>Invincible Universe
>The Boys Universe
>Marshal Law Universe

bump
I hope the thread you wanted to die also gets bumped
