You don't need to watch anything before it but for optimal experience, you have to watch 0079~X.
also ignore every gay that tells you to skip anything other than AGE, G-Bitch, Build trash and G-Reco
No, but you will get more out of it if you've seen at least 0079, 0083, Zeta, ZZ, CCA, F91, Victory, G, Wing, Endless Waltz, and X.
The rest will have 0 impact, including G-Reco. Heck, most have next to 0 impact anyway. The show's core plot, themes, and character arcs are 100% self contained and self explained within the show.
>0083... F91... G, Wing, Endless Waltz, and X.
Honestly, not really. Other than just being able to recognise which Gundam specifically they've grabbed stock footage of for such-and-such an episode. Being familiar with 0079, Zeta, CCA and V does give it a nice edge though, in terms of charting the development of Tomino's ideas over the years
Honestly just 79 might be enough but Zeta and CCA won't hurt, ZZ too if you can stomach that, its less about the references to previous shows which are largely insignificant and more about the context within which it exists.
No, but watching 0079, Zeta-CCA and/or some AUs can make you appreciate its themes more.
Turn A is basically self-contained, but context for the Universal Century timeline enriches the experience a lot.
I don't know jack about Gundam but why is this one the only MC Gundam where it isn't just a carbon copy paste of older designs of other MC Gundams? The color scheme is the same but the head is completely different.
Why the frick does Japan not make unique Gundams for each MC where they all look completely different from one another?
They all look different, you're just blind because you're not autistic enough. You probably also think all Formula 1 cars look the same and stuff like that.
>intentionally trying really hard to not notice any details as if you really have trouble telling things apart
I'm sorry, where's the advantage or edge in saying you have trouble telling apart primary colours and shapes? At least smug people know there's a difference and try to act cool by saying they don't give a shit about the differences.
Syd Mead, the guy who did the mechanical designs for Aliens and Blade runner was brought on for it.
Initially he tried to create a more typical Gundam design accompanied by his own trademark aesthetic to fit in with the franchise. He was already fairly familiar with the design language of the mecha from production art he had done for the scrapped Gundam Hollywood movie. But Tomino apparently wanted his shit to be wild and atypical, so he came back with an early iteration of the Sumo and eventually Turn A.
You watch UC (skip ZZ) up until F91 and skip G-reco and Turn A since they're trash
Absolutely gay response, also OP should kill himself.
Bottom line: production order.
A kingly post.
>production order
the only answer you'll ever need
eh, watch a bunch of them and maybe a 90s AU or two of your choice. Also watch Turn A first.
Watch everything that came out before Turn A in production order. G Reco is not necessary viewing for Turn A.
You need to watch Overman King Gainer before G-Reco.
That's all.
Yes. A quiz pops up every episode and your screen will shatter if you answer incorrectly.
Why haven't any anime shows done this
LoGH does
I watched every UC show in production order and OVAs plus the three AU's(G, Wing and X) before watching Turn A.
Did you also watch CCA and F91?
Yes
Now watch:
>Mobile Suit SD Gundam (1988)
>Mobile Suit SD Gundam Mk II (1989)
>Mobile Suit SD Gundam's Counterattack (1989)
>Mobile Suit SD Gundam Mk III (1990)
>Mobile Suit SD Gundam Mk IV (1990)
>Mobile Suit SD Gundam Mk V (1990)
>Mobile Suit SD Gundam: SD Gundam Gaiden (1990)
>Mobile Suit SD Gundam The Movie: Musha Knight Command: SD Gundam Scramble (1991)
>Mobile Suit SD Gundam Festival (1993)
Honestly essential.
Mk-III had only two good episodes and Knight part of Festival could be better, but otherwise yes, it's all great.
no

No. You can watch them directly since they're both standalone shows.
G-Reco is pretty standalone but you should watch at least the original 0079 to get a feel for UC since it's referenced a few time
To be fair most Tomino stuff is written to be its own thing even when it's tied to other entries
TÜÄŘN A
GUNDAMN
TURN A TURN
TURN A TURN
TUUUUURN AAAAAA
turn a has nothing to do with uc. i dont give a frick about the refrences. how could g-gundam and uc be the same universe? frick these toy commercials

Not really. You can start watching them right now.
Don't believe the production order scums since they're have time remorse and want you to do the same thing of wasting time to you.
You should waste some time trying to learn english before posting.
>t. wasted time watching 0083, Wing, X, and 08th
Poor time remorse haver
If you do that Tomino will come to your house and make your mom his mom. Also he'll frick her.

mk2 looks so fricking good. zeta rolling off really hard
It looks the same, autist.
blind
They don't, are you moronic?

It's just a cheap cashgrab franchise

you have to watch all four Gundam Build series first, then move on to UC
